It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. Giving a doll as a gift

Apr 29, 2006

    1. If I could afford it (or have some of the family chip in) I would like to buy a doll for my boyfriends sister. I really think she would enjoy the doll as much as I do. As for which one, I think it would be one from Doll-zone or DoA, but that's because those are my favorites.

    2. If I could, I would buy a doll for the girl who introduced me to them. She still hasn't gotten a boy yet, and I think she'd adore it. :D

    3. I purchased Resin Soul Mei for my little sister's 19th birthday and she was estactic! She loves her very much, despite how much she wanted to save up and buy her first doll on her own. It was rough, but I went through the marketplace here.

    4. bought a tiny AS doll, and give it to my sister as birthday gift, and she likes it.
however she does not knows how to take care of it, and does not give her much attention, so it ended up i am taking care of it.lol

    5. I've given dolls as gifts on two occasions. One doll went to a girl who does nothing with him now and the second doll went to someone I considered my best friend--and then we had a falling out that was just... messy. *_*

After all that? I've decided that there's only one person who I'd ever buy a doll for, and that's my little sister. I've learned my lesson. :\

    6. I don't buy bjd dolls as presents although I don't think I'm a greedy person. The first reason is that nobody of my friends is fond of dolls as much as I'm. The next reason is that they are expensive. I know that my friends won't aprecciate this present very much.

    7. Well, it's not like i've bought it at all, but... I received a Leile with my purchase of my Diogenes (B&G Afra) and decided to give her to a friend that loves dollfies but she daren't buy one >.< so, like i weren't going to give her the love that i know my friend will give her, i'm going to send her to my friend as a little gif. Now i'm waiting to receive the head from the girl who has made the make up, and some clothes i've bought too ^^

My friend is really happy with her and can't wait to have her little Cassandra in her hands >o<

    8. Im planning on getting my friend one for christmas. Because her mom wont let her buy her own because she thinks its a waste of money (but he has to stay with me because they creep her mom out)
Im planning on getting her an CH Macro...After I get my SD

    9. My sister and I always buy each other dolls for Christmas and birthdays :) this year i bought her Rebus and she bought me Van from Angell Studio :):)

    10. I hope I get one as a gift... DOT Shall has been on my xmas wishlist for 4 years now.... I'm going to have to buy her myself....

I think this year I'm going to buy my mom a little fee or a pukipuki.... She loves fairies and likes taking photos of my dolls with me :D

    11. My boyfriend, for my birthday, has ordered me a DoD Too and Bee-A, and I am so excited about them!
As for buying dolls for other people, I would have no problem buying one for someone else, say, my boyfriend, except for the fact that he doesn't really like dolls all that much. If, however, I was ever to make a good friend, and we had a very strong friendship that I know would last for a long time, and who also loves dolls, then of course I would try and buy them a doll as a present!

    12. I've already saved up enough money for an Adam Snow doll from Angell-studio for my cousin's birthday :)

    13. I recently got a Spiritdoll Daffodil along with a kimono and wig for my cousin's birthday, but I've fallen in love with this girl, so I might get another one for her instead :sweat I haven't decided yet what to do.

    14. I bought a pukipuki pong for my daughter graduation, she's very happy with it

    15. I don't think I'll ever be able to buy a doll outright for someone. But I'll definately contribute to them getting their first doll. I want my other friends to get into the hobby as well so that my dolls (when I get them) won't always have to be alone.

    16. I want to contribute to my friend who got me into BJD get one of her own, if she still wants one and otherwise I'd really want to buy my mom a tiny or pukipuki, cause she helped me buy my own, even tho she thinks they are waaay too expensive :XD: I just won't tell her the price mwahaha :D

    17. I plan to give a doll as a gift this year. I wouldn't have thought of it if my husband hadn't expressed an interest in a very specific doll. I just hope that Batchix can do another run of blue Machinas before the end of the year.

    18. I never thought I would, but , I did. I just bought an AoD Rao for a friend. My friend will be the 3rd owner of this girl, and I got her for a super deal. I did it because my friend really needed a doll to make doll clothes. She's been reliant on me and my dolls to do it, and its not always ideal trying to find time to meet up for it. And sewing blind, with no doll to try stuff on along the way...she could do it, but I just felt like having her own doll would help her both for fittings and inspiration wise. She's not in a situation where she could afford a doll on her own, so I got one for her, and told her she could pay me back in doll clothes and maybe other craft services. Mostly, I just wanted to help, cause she's my buddy. The karma points are great, and it is also awesome that I will finally physically know someone with a doll.:)

    19. After seeing my mother fell in love with my Kai, I would probably buy her one too someday.
She loves dollhouses (and owns 3) on a 1:12 scale, Elfdoll Tinydolls are perfect for that.
      So perhaps one day...

    20. I always think about this topic. I have done it once before but it turned out bad now the friend doesn't even talk to me. Im the type of person to take deep thought and consideration into a gift for a friend so I think now it would have to be someone I was beyond very close with that I would consider doing that again. Its a big risk sometimes considering all the money you might end up spending but if they're worth it to you there's nothing wrong with going for it if you can.
