Giving a doll as a gift

Apr 29, 2006

    1. i would love to have a friend that would give me a doll
if i had enough money i would totally buy a doll for somebody idk who because nobody around me really shows an interest but what ever haha

    2. my xmas present for my boyfriend: a dollzone figaro :XD: he liked it a lot!

    3. If I had the money, I probably would give one to my sister.
But I barely have room to get one to myself D:

Wish anyone would give me one lawl.

    4. I bought my friend Crystal a BBB Elfkin in Lilac skin. She's saving up for a Fairland doll but something keeps happening that causes her to dip into that fund. So I figured for her birthday/christmas/graduation I'd get her a tiny! I'm surprised the spam of photos hasn't taken DOA by force. ^_^

    5. I received a RS Mai for Christmas as a gift from some close friends.
      It made me so happy >w< But he's still just a head at the moment. I guess I get his body as a birthday present? Iunno xD;

    6. I have bought several Minimee heads and even a full Volks Super Dollfie as a gift for my twin sister.

    7. I am considering getting my soon-to-be-eleven year old niece a 27cm Obitsu for Christmas as a surprise. I think I will be tasteful and get her a normal skin tone and small breasts...

It would be smart to do it around June so I got loads of time to do a good face up and the eyelashes and stuff. Might buy several heads just to practice on.

Of course it will have to have a head that takes glass / acrylic eyes...

      Phil.

    8. I'm a habitual gifter. I will gift just about anything if I know someone would really like it and I can afford it. I've gifted dolls twice so far (unless you count a trade I made when I won Kurumi out of dumb luck).

The first doll I gifted I did shortly into my introduction into the hobby. I became friends with a girl on a doll forum and she had just started college and was stressed and we talked a lot and she was like a little long distance sister. I found out that at a convention she had seen a particular doll that she really really wanted, and I heard about the lengths she went to to try to get the money in time, but never managed it. So arranged to pay for an identical model and the faceup artist of the first doll created a near identical faceup for free, and I sent it to her.

The second doll I gifted was a Lusion Dahlia with extras. A friend of mine just kept talking and talking about that doll..so I found a couple of conspirators to help with the cost. Once I received the doll, we arranged to all visit our friend on the same day. I arrived last with the doll to surprise her. She was in shock and I think she still questions why the three of us did such a thing. But it is really simple- she has given us her unconditional friendship which is a priceless thing. A doll pales in comparison.

    9. I bought a brownie momo for my husband as a birthday present, he really likes to play around with his little gift ^^

    10. I bought a little PukiPipi for my stepmom. She used to collect dolls, and she was delighted with her. She said she'd never seen such an elaborate doll in such a tiny size, and was especially happy with how customizable they were.

    11. I've given two dolls as gifts so far. ^^

A Asleep Eidolon Blueberry as a gift for my best friend, and a Custom House Marco for my brother. ^^

    12. Hello
My hubby gives me a new BJD for Christmas
I just do not say too much because it's a surprise for the model
In any case I trust to my dear fai I am sure she will be beautiful
All I know is he bought it new on ebay

    13. I planning to make gift for a very pleasant friend ^^
I’m not sure yet which kind of BJD I will present her, but it will be a boy ^^v

    14. Twice now! For the same person actually!

I bought a dollkot Yuna for Zakuro, and then went 4 ways with two of her friends and herself on her christmas present.

    15. This Christmas my friend and I took advantage of the two for one sale that Doll Leaves is having and got each other a tiny :whee:

    16. well my mum always plays with Grace my pukipuki Sugar, and multiple times has confessed her love for the cute little balls of resin pukis are xD <3
and her birthday is a day before mothers day owo~ so im planning on getting her a pukipuki of her own with a whole bunch of clothes and wigs too >3< <33
im gonna let her pick out everything at the end of march ^w^ so i can order everthing for her and hopefully her puki will get here in time :D

    17. My boyfriend got a Chiwoo elf on Christmas and a Chiwoo Vampire as a birthday present and my best friend got a AngelRegion Tender Cien in WS

    18. What company makes the little chesire cats? (Pipos something...) I can't remember, but I saw that the company had a pink piggy. I've decided that if I ever had the money, I'd grab one of those and send it to my best friend. She loves piggies. It's one of those things I feel would be appropriate for how much she has helped me, something real special.

I don't always get to buy things for people, but when I do, it's usually something very nice.

    19. I suprised my sister with an MSD for her birthday. I had bought the doll second-hand and had her hidden in my closet six months in advance, and it was sooo hard to keep her a secret so long! But it was worth it. When it finally came time for the reveal, I set up the new doll mixed in with her larger crew, and had my MSD jumping up from behind, like so:

When my sister came into the room, she looked directly at the dolls and smiled, but totally didn't notice the new addition! XD Then she started talking, and a few seconds in she stopped short, did a double-take, and her face just went :o :...( :D !!! It was the perfect reaction. Definately made me want to be able to suprise someone with a doll again sometime! ^__^

    20. Twice I've had the joy of beign able to give the gift of a doll to a friend. :)

The first time, severa of us chipped in and we bought a DOC boy for a good friend of ours who loved the hobby but couldn't afford to get into it. We bought him for her for Christmas a few years back and she almost died haha.

The second time was just this past Christmas! I've had the same best friend for... many many years and she is a lot like a sister to me. She's married now, with one son and another on the way. They don't have hardly any extra money, let alone a few hundred dollars for a doll... so I bought her the doll she's been lusting over for two years this Christmas! :)

She was sooo excited and even more excited that we could share the hobby like we have shared so much in the past. It was an amazing gift and I'd totally do it again for the right person. :D
