Glorydoll Lucy/Louis & Karin/Karl discussion

Jay i am happy to say that i finally got Lucy a few days ago, i have ordered her a DT elf body, in Oriental skin, she is milky i hope the match is all right. i have pale skin and fresh skin here but neither of those is good, milky has a pink tone to it. i thought the milky would be a cream white, but it is more of a pale pink NS.

I wonder if their colors vary from batch to batch like Migidoll? That makes it so hard when you're trying to match a body. I hope yours matches! I'm surprised it didn't work with the freshskin. Go figure.

I read elsewhere on DOA that DT freshskin and Glorydoll healthy skin match.

And for the record, I had no problems when I ordered my Karin head - she arrived in a month or so.

 

oh now i'm nervous..... i have two fresh skin dolls, and they just looked chalky and pale next to the Lucy head, maybe i got a different color then milky, is the NS more pink then the milky, do you know? i also have a Leeke Carol head awaiting a body, and i find the heads very close in color. i remember Xen saying that the Leeke resin was a good match for the oriental skin..... i'm sure i can work it out... if not? oh well!

 

Anyone haunted by the 4th goth lucy and order her immediately just like me?

oh, and my own milky skin Louis arrived a few weeks ago I'm so happy with him, he's so beautiful and his face and body sculpt has so many lovely details. His hands are gorgeous, his knees are so cute, his profile is amazing..His resin is also lovely, it almost glows. It's also a joy to face-up. His length and weight is perfect for me, large enough to be cuddled and small/light enough to be comfy when carrying him around He's quite small compared to 60 cm boys, which I think is adorable

Unfortunately, there was a problem with the hook in his foot coming undone. It appeared the hook was not in the resin far enough..it happened at a meet-up(not even 24 hours after I got him) and luckily someone there fixed it for me, making a new hook, drilling a new hole and putting it in with glue and epoxy. I'm so happy they were there because I was at a loss what to do! I send a picture of the foot to Glorydoll and they're sending me a new one, free of charge(I only had to pay shipping but that's alright with me, at least I got to keep the other foot). They were very willing to help :3

Other than the foot problem, the doll is lovely ^_^ I really adore him Here's a picture:

hehe, I just got my 3rd Goth Lucy the other week. You won't be disappointed, she's gorgeous.

The old Elfdoll girl bodies had a similar problem with their feet, as did the old Dollmore girls with their hands. I've found that rescrewing them in with some good strong glue fixes the problem most of the time.
Glad they were helpful though, and your boy is gorgeous!

Jay, your Lucy is just pure love!

From reading this I gather that a "healthy" toned Lucy would match "fresh skin" (pinky-white) DT resin quite well.

Does anyone know if the "milky" toned Lucy would match "pale skin" (white skin) DT resin?

Jay, I know you said that GloryDoll's "milky" matched DT fresh-skin...but would GloryDoll's "healthy" match it any better? I is confuseds!

I love Lucy. I wanted to cry when I saw the 4th one went on sale. I am strictly forbidden to buy anymore dolls this year.* I just want to cry*. Her outfit is amazing. I have been keeping an eye on this thread for hybrid matches. I don't care too much for the glorydoll bodies either. I hope you'll post lots of pictures of your girl.
"Glorydolls site states, Glorydoll's all skin(white and Normal)is simular to almost with. If Glorydoll and Volksdoll compair to, glorydolls normal skin same compare to Volks. And white skin of glorydoll's is more deep a little bit then Volks white skin, and milk color containing rose a very little bit."
Whew, I had to copy word for word since glorydoll's site will not allow copy/paste. If anyone can confirm what glorydoll said I would appreciate it. I would love to have Lucy on a Volks body.
I forgot to add. Does anyone have the Albino skin. I want to see the Albino skin. I want my Lucy in Albino. :0

 

Glorydoll healthy skin doesn't match Volks at all. It may possibly match a really new Volks body, but they would age differently to each other. Glorydoll's is far too pale and pink to match.

 

That's something else I want to ask (thanks for reminding me)...there have been some GD Heads on DT bodies for a while now...how do the resins age together?

XEN, Have you tried your Lucy head on a DT 13? I do love the elf body but I wanted a taller doll if possible. Has anyone else tried Lucy on a DT body other than the elf body?

It seems down for me since yesterday.
I had asked a question last week but I haven't receive any answer, so I checked it out everyday before it went down. However I didn't see any notice saying about the site would going to close down for a while. Is it just me or it's really down?

 

I haven't been able to access it since yesterday either. They can take a week to answer Q&As sometimes, and if you entered an email address the answer does get emailled to you. But yeah, I was a bit concerned about that too.

 

Now I am even more confused. I am not sure why Glorydoll posted that the resin colors I mentioned above matched those certain Volks resins.
I will just watch this thread and see what others come up with. Besides I have way too many doll wants and so few funds I cannot imagine getting Lucy anytime soon.

Oh no! I hope the site comes back soon. I've been delaying my plans for Louis and I'll die of regret if Glorydoll just vanishes.

Edit: Btw, can anyone who has the 2nd version boy body give a rating or review of its posing ability and standing ability? From reading this thread and the Glorydoll feedback thread, I am aware of the issue with the screws in the joints. However I haven't heard much about the body, whether it is a bad, good, or mediocre poser. When I order Louis I want to get him with his Glorydoll body because it is such a unique size (and has nice hands). I am not that picky about posing and expect no wonders, but I'd like to know that it at least stands and sits well. Thanks for your input!

 

Awesome! They also finally responded to my question in Q&A, and it says my dolls are "on shipping"! There doesn't seem to be a tracking number however. I've heard some bad things about Glorydoll claiming they shipped a package and not actually shipping it though, so I'm not getting my hopes up.

 

You usually have to send them another message asking them for the tracking number, at which they'll apologise profusely and finally give it to you. They took a few days to get back to me when I asked. By the time I got mine, my girl was in the country, so that was kind of awesome.
