  2. Dollshe Craft and all dolls created by Dollshe, including any dolls created under his new or future companies, including Club Coco BJD are now banned from Den of Angels. Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. This ban does not apply to other company dolls cast by Dollshe as part of a casting agreement between him and the actual sculpt or company and those dolls may still be discussed on the forum. Grail Faceup Artist?

    1. I've actually just sent my two fav heads off to one of my grail artists.
      but I have a few others including:
      SMWoman (my ultimate grail artist who I still hope to get a commission from one day. Eyebrows especially and the realism wow)
      Beloveda (such detailed and natural looking faceups)
      Helene/Rugged Realism (Amazing depth and detail, what more can I say?)
      Innelda_Isher (once more for the ultra brows and the lips, so much detail)
      Barbelo (eyebrows, again I know but woah those eyebrows and the lips!)
      OlesyaGavr (wonderfully realistic looking and those eyebrows!)
      Aunus/Story of Seventh Day (the detail and amount of work is just fantastic)
      Ara (love the eyebrows especially. Huge fan of thick, bushy brows and those ones are amazing)

      So yeah quite a few there, but all people I would give my left foot to have faceups by. And I'm left handed so I'm quite partial to my left side. lol What can I say, I cannot resist the incredibly detailed and realistic look of these artists and since almost all my dolls are human or look it and mostly realistic sculpts I want them as realistic as possible and these people are amazing at that. Plus as may already be obvious, eyebrows I am slightly obsessed with them. XD

    2. My ultimate grail faceup artist has to be BelovedA! Her flickr photostream is out of this world~
      My other favourite artists have to be GreenyWolfie & ArlequeenM. But there are so many talented artists out there!!

    3. What an interesting topic. Well I've always wanted makeup by "Kimsense" (I think was an artist for Immortality of Soul) but their webpage hasn't been updated in a while and I'm not sure if they take commissions now or not. Also, I'd love to have makeup done by "Ladious/A Drop of Color".

    4. For me a grail faceup artist is someone who is actually impossible to commission, so for me it would be some of the incredibly talented older faceup artists who seem to not be in the hobby anymore and whose work way back when sold for $$$$$

      Avvelenato, Satoko Ohno, Esthy - faceup artist and sculptor of Peroth, and Rabiruna. I'd pay a very large chunk of money for a doll painted by them.

    6. I really love the faceups from Kingnut. Sometimes a faceup is just a faceup, but sometimes the artist can surpass that and create art.

    8. Thirding Kingsnut as grail artist. I don't know if she actually does commissions but I'd love to get an AiL doll customized by her some day. Based on what she has written on some of her photo uploads on Lofter, she seems to particularly love the AiL Alice sculpt, which I do as well. I love how her work is so dark yet colorful.
      If anyone has recommendations similar to her, I would love to hear! :)

    10. It's certainly desirable to be satisfied with one's achievements and artistic efforts, and it's also fine to be proud of oneself. However, there must be some "idols" to look up to, to learn from, etc... :XD:.

    11. Um... I'm weirdly shy saying so, but I'm super inspired by NonsensicalArkelle/BlueRoseArkelle/Arkelle(??)'s work. All them colors! I would love to be able to commission them someday if they are available and I can work up my nerve... I've been watching their youtube channel for awhile, and their progression in terms of art is really inspiring to me. So good! And dem off-topic dolls too. Awesome.

    14. AngelToast & Ravendolls are by far my favorite.

      I had a doll in the past with a Ravendolls faceup & I am about to have a head sent off for an AngelToast faceup. I'm so excited!

    16. Viridian House was mine for the longest time, but I'm lucky to have one doll painted by her and another modded and painted (it was her own doll for years). I think I'd say Xhanthi now, and lucky for me, my incoming boy has a face-up done by her!
