Grumpy Tiny?

Oct 11, 2007

    1. This is a pic of my Banji Elly Eomji and I don't think that she looks grumpy at all.

    2. She's not grumpy, she's beautiful! Maybe they were thinking of Kiwi. I think the Banji's are stunning little dolls, I have Peach and I would not trade her for anything![IMG]

    4. Prism and I thank you!!

I don't recall seeing this Banji before--I think she looks mean! EEK!!

My poor dollies would hide if I brought her home--I think she would even scare the Pons! Doesn't she look like she is plotting your slow death with a dull blade?:shudder :shudder

    5. Oh, indeed. She is not amused.

Thanks Teryl, I am adding more on my Naripon page tomorrow. Not feeling great tonight, going to bed early.

      Hugs
      Mary-Lee

    6. Hope you feel better soon. Mary-Lee!! I love seeing all your pretty little doll clothes.

    7. Thank you, feeling much better today. Must have been a bug, hopefully it is gone. All I wanted to do is sleep.

More cuteness is being added as we speak.

    8. Glad you're feeling better Mary-Lee. I just love this cute little velvet and lace dress for your PON. Tooooo cuuuuute! :fangirl:

    9. This is the first crocheted tiny dress that I've ever made. See.. these little cutie PONS are making me do things that I've never done before!

She does have matching underpants, but I could not get a decent pic of her holding her dress up! LOL!

I tried to hand knit the underpants with Valli's help, but holding those teeny tiny size 0000 knitting needles was hard to control, so I ended up crocheting them also.

    10. Mary, glad you are feeling more yourself. Nice to see your Naripon in velvet and lace.

Jenny, Prism is lovely. I was very tempted by them, but... I just couldn't make up my mind.

Teryl, I'm sorry the knitting proved difficult. I do work with much smaller needles and thread, too. Shant send any of those patterns. *giggle* Love what you've made though. Jinji looks very happy indeed.

    11. Jinji looks so adorable!! Like a little ray of sunshine. I love crocheting dresses for my tinies, I can knit but like the look of crochet better. You did a GREAT job for your fist one--my first one ended up in the garbage! But be warned--once the Pons find out you can make them clothes, all of a sudden they decide they must be fashion plates, and have one in every color and for every occasion (Christmas is coming, hope you have red and green on hand!!)

What kind of thread did you use? I love it!!

    12. Valli:
I learned to crochet as a child so crocheting is very natural and relaxing to me. I've never had great success and hand knitting. I tried many times to hold the tiny knitting needles and control the tiny thread. Super frustration and tension. Arrrrrgh! :x

However, I'll let you know that I am a retired machine knitting instructor and I have a fine-gauge knitting machine. Any future "knitted" garments for my PONS will be done using it.

      Jenny:
I used Perle cotton size 8. The pattern called for size 10 thread which is thinner than size 8, but I have tons of variegated size 8 for my tatting projects. I also used a size 7 hook.

Personally, I like the look of knits, but the body that crochet gives. Is there a happy medium? :? LOL!

    13. Thanks Teryl, that's what I use too. My friend uses perle 12, but that is too small for me!! I have a bag full of 8's in DMC and Valdani hand dyed--good thing, because it's going to be a long winter and I have lots of tinies who want clothes!!

I am just finishing up an outfit, will post pics here in a day or two when I get it done.

    14. Oh, so cute!!

There are such cute things for Pon online. Haven't crocheted anything for her in ages. Must fix that. Been knitting for bigger dolls.

You did a great job Teryl.

Did you get any bunny suits in the mail recently??? Just curious.

      Mary-Lee :-)

    15. Hi, Mary Lee... no, the bunny suit has not arrived yet!! :...( I am hoping it comes today, Saturday or next week. Monday is a holiday here, Veteran's Day, so no mail delivery. I hate it when the mail is delayed! Thanks for the other comments on my other DoA threads too!

    16. does anybody HAVE a crochet pattern for PONS they can share? That dress is just adorable!!!!!!

Anyway, Lolly's latiyellow Miel, Muriel, is EXTREMELY grumpy too, she's one of the limiteds with a wee red spade on her cheek, and sleepy eyes. VERY CRABBY. Just saw her again this a.m. and was reminded at how truly pissy she is, too. In case anybody was wondering. I think she was mentioned here.

    17. Sher... here's the pattern I used for little Jinji's dress.
I used size 8 Perle Cotton and a size 7 crochet hook.
I did not make the skirt part as long as the pattern calls for. I only did 3 rows.
I used two, size E, crystal beads for the back closure buttons.

I'd love to get the crochet patterns from NotDoll for the original PONs. They are toooo cute also.

    18. Mary-Lee.... guess what arrived this afternoon!! THANKS SO MUCH!! Jinji

    19. Oh, you look marvelous Jinji.

She indeed has very large ears. She will be a huge hit at Easter in that outfit.

      Hugs
      Mary-Lee

    20. Awww wook at da cute widdle bunny babbit! It's PINK, too. Awwww.... me wants a pink bunny babbit, too. *sniff*

Ooops! Forgot to say, thanks for the info Teryl. Knitting was my first love from age 8, so it has been my passion for too long. I suggest using two strands of yarn to make it more bulky. It's strange but the reason I am not so keen on crochet is because it is bulky. Can't win, hey?
