1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Guilty pleasures

Mar 12, 2017

    1. My guilty pleasure is also eyes... at this point I have like 50 pairs or something silly like that!!! >____<

    2. Tiny stuffed animals even though my dolls are supposed to be grownups, it's just that the thought of my MSD boys each having a plushie makes me happy as a man who has a stuffed animal collection

    3. realistic menswear. I absolutely love dressing my larger boys in clothes that look like miniaturized versions of real menswear. Specifically, clothing from Freedom Teller is my guilty pleasure

    4. All of this is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me. I don't really have money or space to be indulging in an expensive hobby - yet here I am. So I need to be exceptionally careful with what I buy and how much room things take up.

As such I adore shopping online for all the things I want but won't buy. So much drooling over my keyboard at some of the cool things I've found so far.

I look forward to dressing my character up in things he might not normally wear. And perhaps some poses that he wouldn't be caught dead in - and taking pictures of them anyway. >:3

    5. My guilty pleasure is researching anything bjds! I have a lot of fun when I see a sculpt that I like, then spending a few hours looking up all the details, photos, box openings, reviews, price comparing, window shopping for eyes, wigs, and clothing. All just for fun, with no intention of ever buying anything. This is immensely satisfying to me as cost, doll size, and storage issues don’t matter, as it’s all in my imagination.

    6. Haha :) guilty pleasure in the doll hobby?
Probably the amount of time I spend on den of angels. ~ Browsing dolls in the marketplace & reading through threads :) I really should be doing other things :)

    7. Arrmen. The biggest room in the basement is elf props all the way down.

I spend a lot of time looking at clothes I can't afford, especially for my ladies. Why must they be so fun to dress?!

      Admiring sculpts I already have.

Admiring sculpts I don't have and won't own.

Admiring sculpts I wish I had.
(I studied Unidoll Ark so thoroughly over the years that when mine came, the shock of having him didn't set in for most of the year. It felt like I had owned him all that time; I knew him so well.)

      Flexing nicely-constructed elbow and knees.

      Well-done androgynous dolls.

Oddly proportioned females. (Bodies, not busts) Occasionally males.

      Cute ladies in nice corsets.

    8. Clothes, wigs, eyes, shoes! I get just as excited shopping for them as I do for myself. I love layering clothes on them. I feel that it gives them a snuggly look and feel :love

    10. I have a guilty pleasure with fantasy sculpts. I dont have any and theres no way they'd fit into my collection but I cant help but spend hours looking at others photos of them XD .

    11. Eyes!
I'm an eye hoarder. It doesn't really matter the brand/make of the eyes. I tend to prefer glass, but I'll stash any kind away. If I buy a head and it has eyes I'm not keeping in the doll, I'll still keep the eyes. It's more of a bad habit, but I got exhausted with the thrill of having a "new" doll and realizing I didn't have eyes that fit or they didn't look right in the head. So now if I have to order eyes, I at LEAST have temporary ones until the new ones arrive.

    12. I buy doll stuffs every month bt only buy clothes for myself if needed! I really love crystal eyes and almost all my dolls have them! I want all my dolls to have different colour eyes so i can do heterochromia on all of them! :)

    13. Too many props. I love props, I love miniatures, I love building doll houses, I love setting the perfect scene.

Like, I got a tiny airport bottle of Bacardi for my dolls to look like a full sized wine bottle. Just for a few gag pictures every now and then.

I have so many tiny props I don't put everything out at once. (But I still find more because I cant help it)

    14. I'm glad there are a bunch of other eyeball hoarders here! They're so fun to make, and oh so easy to get carried away with making.

Another one of my guilty pleasures is doll lingerie. It seems like underwear is always an afterthought on dolls, so I really appreciate the extra effort that's put in to make, for example, a MSD bra look like a real bra (one of the super adorable ones- with the tiny lace and tiny frills!) and not just something to fix an issue with doll nipples poking through a dress. It's so hard to resist buying all of the gorgeous doll lingerie I come across. If I see it in person and it fits a doll from my collection? Game over- I'm buying it!

    15. Most recent guilty pleasure... buying for my next doll when one of my current boys doesn't actually have his own proper shoes.

The boy I'm saving for already has a wig and bottoms he can wear right away, and I keep eying up props that suit him (and I've been keeping my eye on a coat that costs nearly as much as MY coat did...)

    16. Always planning and sewing big frilly dresses (mostly just planning, starting and then forgetting about the project for quite some time to come back and finish it), frills really, I love and can't get enough of them.

    17. @Spuggey I had not heard of Namonaki Workshop before- super interesting! Thanks for mentioning them!^^

    18. This entire hobby is a guilty pleasure some days but let's see...
I really love pastel punk things, you name it, I'll want to own it or just admire it. Wigs, eyes, clothes, frilly silly things. I want to make a bedroom for two of my MSDs who're most receptive to being pastel punked and do the whole thing up like a terrifying pink marshmallow room.
Staring for hours at 70cm sculpts (male and female). I have no space for such large, gorgeous dolls so I feed my need by looking up owner pics of my favourite larger sculpts.

    19. Jackets!
All my boys has to have one. I just love seeing them wearing it and then Onesies, i bought one for all of them just waitubg for its arrival.

    20. I love doll furniture and props! I'd really love to be able to make "dollhouses" for both my 1/4 and 1/3 dolls.
Maybe if I win the lottery!
