Happydoll Arthur

My friend LeeAnn is interested in Arthur -- we're worried about being able to find CLOTHING for him. I did a search and didn't come up with much by way of concrete information... help us!

Can arthur wear luts boy clothes? CH? How about shoes? Is he hard to dress because he IS taller than a CH boy? OO souldoll can he wear souldoll boy things?

Arthur can wear most standard SD13 boys shoes. Mine has worn Dollheart, Posh Dolls, and CH boys boots with no problem.

Clothing is hit and miss, especially with pants. It all depends on the style/cut and the type of material the clothing is made of. With pants, length is usually where you run into problems (unless you tuck them into tall boots), but the waist can sometimes be a bit snug too. Shirts usually fit. HappyDoll (and maybe Domuya) does carry clothing made for Arthur. I doubt he could wear most pants made to fit Luts/CP boys, though. Luts shirts you might have better luck with. Now, Custom House often has larger clothing. Some of their shirts are even big enough for Bermann. And of course, Arthur can probably wear clothing made for Bermann, too. Souldoll clothing I'm not sure about. My Gunun seems to be about standard SD13 size (slightly larger than CP boys), so I would imagine some of their clothing would probably fit Arthur, but not all.

My Arthur is currently wearing a pair of pleather pants that I got on eBay from Lemonday/Dollmore, tucked into a pair of Posh Dolls boots since they are too short. However, I just bought a boy's outfit from eBay seller, Wicked Stitchery, with Arthur in mind, but the pants were so small I had to give them to my AR Kai (they wouldn't even fit Shiwoo).

 

I thought I might share a little Arthur love since it seems to have flagged a bit... ^_^;;

Ordering: Chelsea's Collector Cottage (Australia only, sorry) http://www.collectorcottage.au.com which meant no long wait and no international shipping costs!

Aesthetic: I got my boy as a DIY kit, so he had no face up and I got to assemble and string him myself, and also sand his seams... thus I have no idea about how he comes from HappyDoll or any hints on posing issues...

Modifications: After about a month of the eyebrow ridges of doom, I finally gathered up my courage and modded his face. I shaved and sanded the ridges, his cheekbones and jaw -- just the teensiest bit. But he still looks undeniably like an Arthur mold, which I love ^_^

Fashions: Clothing designed esp. for Arthur is outrageously expensive. It is easy to modify existing SD13 boy patterns by i)lengthening the leg by up to 5cm, ii) expanding the waist/hips by 2cm in width and 1.5cm in height (otherwise when he sits he shows resin butt), iii) lengthening sleeves by 1-2cm, iv) broadening armholes by 1cm, v) widening shoulder by 1 cm per side, and vi) widening the hole for the neck a bit -- I'm happy to share patterns I've found successful ^_^

Can anyone here confirm that Arthur's height is indeed 65 cm? I was told that the Volks SD16 is also 65 cm, and yet he seems taller than a standard HD body. I was planning on buying an HD body for my SD16 head because I thought they were about the same height... however when I saw photos of Arthur next to Bermann, he seems so much shorter than Bermann, whereas SD16 does not look that much shorter than Hound. *confused*

 

Hadn't packed the boy away (or changed his clothes ^_^; )
so here's proof positive about his height. I've circled 24 inches, 26 inches, 60cm & 65cm on the tape measure cos they're a bit hard to see...

And yep, that's from the base of his foot to the top of his head (taking into account his wig) any help?

 

Thank you ver much, islingtonroad! That certainly helped a lot! I suppose then that he is much taller than your average 60 cm doll. I can only hope that the SD16 is indeed 65 cm. ^_^
