1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Haru Casting Adori Discussion

Jan 27, 2016

    1. I had an OnlyDoll normal yellow body for my Adori Volks Normal head, until the Adori body went on sale. I restrung it right away because the arms were too tight to pose well. Color match was fine, not perfect but close enough for my purposes.

I'm glad to have the official body now. But I was thinking about getting the OnlyDoll body back out for the second head, just to increase my photo possibilities. The OnlyDoll body doesn't pose as well, but I don't really have any other bodies to compare against.

    2. I think I may restring too then as the arms are too tight, I don't know why I didn't think of it but thank you for responding DollSewist.

    3. I just read this whole thread and I now know the dolls that I will be planning for next. So sorry I missed the June/July order period.

There wasnโ€™t a picture here that didnโ€™t pull on my heart strings. . .

    4. Hii~ I'm looking for a wig for my Adori! His head is slightly smaller than other bjds and he is my first bjd overall so I've been finding it hard to shop around successfully! I've been in search for a short brunette wig. The wig I have now is brunette but it's surprisingly too thick and swallows his head. So maybe a thinner wig could work? If anyone knows where I can find a wig that fits my descriptions for a good price (plus shipping) I'd really appreciate it!

    5. @MaddaSavva My girl Adori Kiki wears a wig from Kemper doll. Its 6/7 and was quite cheap. It gives her that little child messy hair kind of look

    6. @samson, I love that tousled bob! @MaddaSavva, I have a box of 6/7 wigs and some fit better than others, there's really a lot of variation from company to company and style to style. My boy has a 6/7 wig by Fatiao that I purchased from Etsy. It's a smidgeon poofy but that's the nature of most short styles. You just have to style it a bit.

    7. thank you both! I'll be sure to check out both companies to see if I find one I like.

    8. Now that the shipping date is approaching, I'm panicking. Lol, I got so excited about getting an Adori, I just focused on that instead of figuring out what to do with it. I don't even know if mine is going to be a girl or boy! All of my dolls except one are girls, but Adori looks so cute both ways. Anyone else getting super excited about maybe having theirs home in the next month?

    9. Did you order a full doll ?

    10. Yep. I ordered the girl body, because I don't really worry too much about the body gender matching, lol.

    11. I know how you feel! I really want one, but I can't decide between making it a boy or a girl either. I like sewing for girls better, but Adori makes such a cute boy! If I could afford it, I think I'd get two. I can't decide between two of the skin tones either.

    12. I may end up with another some day in another color. I had the hardest time deciding. I finally just picked one of the three or four on my list kind of randomly. I just decided any decision was better than none, lol. Adori may end up with boy & girl clothes to match how I feel each day.

    13. I did that, too! My Adori is a boy, but I found some gorgeous YoSD dresses that I was just crazy for, and I finally cracked and bought them for the doll. Adori wears whatever looks most interesting or appropriate - sometimes it's a sparkly party dress, and sometimes it's overalls.

    14. @bluepita & @DollSewist I used to work in a nursery and there was a little boy who used to love to put on the princess dresses. Fortunately no one discouraged him

    15. Lol, I have a picture of my husband, daughter, niece, and nephew all dressed up as princesses for playtime. It's one of my favorites.

I thought originally my Adori would be a boy. I have only one, and he is a 16 cm. But, everyone's girls are so cute. I guess we'll see. Pants are just so hard to sew when you don't know what you are doing, lol.

    16. Make him a kilt! Then you can see how he looks in a skirt without changing his sex. ;)

    17. Im a bit greedy and have a girl and boy adori :blushso can satisfy my need for girly girly and boyly boy stuff lol. I still dont see any need to restrict yourselves to what is considered gender appropriate clothing ;)

    18. Samson, that's exactly the conclusion I came to - I was startled to realize that I had somehow absorbed this idea of gendered clothing for dolls, and I'm actively working to uproot this from my thinking. I mean, I applaud actual children for refusing to be limited to gendered clothing, so why did I apply it to my dolls?!

And in on-topic news: I sent my Adori heads out to be professionally faced-up this morning. I don't know how long it's going to take - this is all very new to me - and I can tell I'm going to be a bundle of nerves the entire time those doll heads are gone. I already miss him terribly.

    19. Most of my dolls wear dresses, because that's what I can sew, lol. I think Adori will just have whatever I like. I don't worry too much, but I wish I had a bit more of my mind made up about him. I got him a wild purple wig for now, but he's really supposed to be the youngest of one set of my Iplehouse, who all look more realistic. Oops, I guess the few plans I had are changing. :)

    20. Oh, I can't wait to see...
