1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Haru Casting Adori Discussion

Jan 27, 2016

    1. Not at all. If you have a clear idea of what you want it to look like but it doesn't get translated quite right, it can be disappointing. I find that when I send a face out to be painted without much guidance, if I'm willing to trust the artist with a short sentence or two, I tend to be happier than when I have a whole paragraph with photos.

    2. @icicle yes, that's exactly the way I do it. A brief description of the character and details such as Brow/lip colour and amount of cheek blush. I find the artists do better with a more free rein. Choosing a good artist in the first place, with a style you like is key

    3. Man, lookkit at all that instruction and detail you go in to ;)
(I'm the absolute worst, one of my faceup instructions/requests was "a cross between an iron age viking warrior and the devil in a white suit" :mwahaha)

    4. @Girrl ha ha I thought I was giving a minimal amount of detail :wiggle:lol:

    5. I'm seeing some Adoris and Nannis ready to be shipped out on flickr!

    6. I got my shipping notice this morning...I believe the top row middle duo (creamy and black pearl) are mine :D

    7. Congrats @clochette! I suspect my order will be in the 2nd batch.

    8. I got my notice, too! Nanni regular expression, "choco" resin color -- there's one right in the middle of the picture, and another one on the bottom right.

    9. My Nanni arrived today, a mere three days after shipping - I'm stunned. I found a pair of eyes in my stash that almost suits her (the color is perfect, the size is not) and am now on the hunt for a better wig as well, because the one I wanted to use doesn't suit her at all. And it's supposed to rain here for the next four days, so no face up yet.

I can't wait to take pictures of this little girl!

    10. @DollSewist Congrats! Can't wait to see her and all the other new dolls coming in. :)

    11. Drolma arrived on Friday, and it was raining so it's been a few days without any chance to do a face up...and today was BEAUTIFUL...

      Here's Aki and Drolma

    12. My duo arrived yesterday, but the street leading to the post office was closed off with our insane storm (so much flooding it closed two freeway exits!), so hopefully I can pick them up today. Yay, sunny Southern California

Edit: Picked them up yesterday, here they are for a brief stay until they get handed off to Pam for faceups :D

    13. @clochette Such great faces, even without makeup! I look forward to seeing them complete.

    14. Congrats ❤️ just love the colour of your black pearl Adori - look forward to seeing what you do with her

    15. Thanks...I'll try to get a comparison picture this weekend of the Black Pearl, the Dollsbe dark skin AmonD, and the Iplehouse Ebony skin.

The eyes are a lot smaller than most of my Yo sized kids...what size eyes is everyone using? 8's? 10's?

    16. I have 10mm low dome/small iris in my Adori, and I just ordered some 9mm for Nanni.

    17. Low dome 12MM... I think both my gals have eyes from Chocolate Tsang via Etsy. (i have such a bucket of eyeballs in my drawer it's sometimes hard to remember who has what from where!)
