1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Have you ever regretted ordering a doll?

Jul 28, 2015

    1. Yes I have had regrets and disappointments. Some didn't look how I wanted (damn those misleading company photos) and I have since sold them. I also learned that i'm not very keen on much under 65+cm so have regretted trying out smaller dolls. I have only kept one msd as he is a LE and I think I may regret selling him and he would be near impossible to replace.

    2. Yes I have. I've regretted jumping into the hobby the way I did, spending my money left and right without putting more thought into it (don't get me wrong, I did research, for many months and I waited several years before getting my first doll but after getting the first two, I went a bit crazy xD)

What got me most was that after ordering my Soom doll, during the 3 month waiting time I started not really wanting this doll anymore because of how expensive he was, and it made me feel very guilty. Then he arrived, I had to pay 200$ in fees, didn't feel like doing anything with him. When I did feel like trying to bond with him I found out that Soom had sent me a faulty hand, and when I told them they were very rude to me saying there's nothing they want to do about it. It was altogether very disappointing and made me regret ever buying him...

    3. NamiyaKou - that period of waiting does bring very different thoughts sometimes!
I partly see my second doll purchase as a disappointment. The price was a bit more than of my first doll, I had to wait longer, and I also got the doll at the stage when I was unsuccessfully looking for a job. The doll had some faults, too. I went that far as even to ask the company if they would agree to buy it back from me! Finally I sold it in parts to different BJD owners. I liked the doll, but there were certain things about it that just wouldn't let enjoy our friendship.

    4. Yes, my third doll. Though I have recently discovered that she dislikes lace and prefer stripes. So I am now heading in the right direction and I like her far better for it.
Great thread. I am postponing a body purchase as a result. I just don't want to make another mistake.

    5. Yes, my first doll (which I now love.) it was kinda a last minute thing because the sale was ending and I had just saved up enough money to get him. That night I looked closely at some companies and was really regretting not buying a different doll for a cheaper price. :doh

    6. Yes i have experienced this before in my fourth doll a little monica enrill, i got him as a full doll together with a hybrid body at quite a high price. I was so excited when he finally arrived that when i opened and see him i was like this body does not suit him at all like the neck area looks too thick for his head but in the sales photo it looked perfectly normal.

So what i did was sell the body he came with and i managed to get a little monica harmony boy body at a reasonable price, currently my boy is with a faceup artist having a re-faceup. Can't wait for him to be back from the faceup artist.>////<

    7. I've pretty much regretted every doll purchase I've ever made... lol. Not necessarily forever, but I always regret it after I've clicked the button and committed to it and now the money is no longer in my bank account. For me I am just trying to sell the stuff that I still regretted once it got to me and a few others I have grown to love and stopped regretting the purchase.

    8. Yes I have. But fortunately, until now I always change my mind before paying it, so I never received a doll I regret to buy. Well... aside my second doll, a Soom Gerda I bought from second hand. I never loved her. I ended up selling its body and using the head for training in faceup and modification.
