    1. Have you ever renamed a doll you own? Yep, been there done that xD;

If so, Why? I just couldn't find the right name for her...

Did it feel strange? Not much, I guess?

Did you get tired of the old name? Nope. Did it become too popular? Popularity of names doesn't quite keep me from giving them to my dolls, I just go with that suits them. Did it not seem like the doll's real name? Yep...

Would you rename a doll if you already haven't? Only if necessary.

Do you feel as if your doll has something of a life of its own, a name it already wants to be called? Not exactly like that but close enough? My dolls are certain characters so if the name doesn't fit their character it just doesn't stick. It took me going through a whole spectrum of named I love for Hyorin before I realized that the reason no name would fit was because she was Korean...

Did the personality of your doll change as you got to know him/her? Nah..! Except for one case but it simply turned out I had misjudged his personality. He kept the same attitude consistently since he was out of his box.

    2. Yes, My Silas used to be Lennox, but then I realized that Lennox's character didn't really fit the sculpt (I write novels, you see), so I renamed him. He's happier as Silas now.

    3. Yes, it happened with a Yosd wich unfortunately i bidded on ebay without the intention to buy it. At first i hated her and tried to resell her.
But she decided to remain with me XD. And now she's Season. But i had to change her a lot.

    4. I renamed my RS Gang before, I think it was about 3 times total...he started as Michael, then I played with Zess (from betrayal knows my name manga) then finally I found a name that fit him, Xerampelinae. He never fit the other names and was annoyed at me for taking so long to figure out a propper name for him, but once he got his actual name his personality popped out REALLY quickly, and he's lived up to it ever since, scaring people who come near him or go to hold him. *grin*

    5. My dolls just sort of pick their own names (AKA: The first name that comes to mind when I see them) so I never really rename them.

    6. Help! I need help renaming my new doll.
At the moment, his name is Samael. But when I look at him, it just doesnt fit.
I have these names for him so far,
Shax/Chax, Lahash, Paimon, Raum, Orias, Procel, Vassago and Gadriel.
      And then Samael.

    7. Have you ever renamed a doll you own?
Yes, only once. And he is about to be renamed again.

      If so, Why?

He rejected the name, or rather It just didn't feel comfortable at all. If I try to force a name I will just end up calling the doll by the sculpt rather than that name.

      Did it feel strange?

Still does, since he is on name three.

Did you get tired of the old name? Did it become too popular? Did it not seem like the doll's real name?
      Didn't seem right.

Do you feel as if your doll has something of a life of its own, a name it already wants to be called?
I feel that in spending time with a doll my feelings about some decision I made about its name or style just start to naturally evolve, indeed as if the doll has its own mind and is telepathically signaling me it wants to change XD

Did the personality of your doll change as you got to know him/her?
      Nope, same dude different name.

    8. I haven't renamed my doll, but I have felt for a long time that I should. I'm not sure why, but the name just feels like it doesn't fit her... I also haven't bonded with her though, so I guess I'm not sure what I should go about naming her. Her name is Lorelei right now just because I thought it was pretty but I'm feeling like she should have a more complex name in another language or something. I do feel like she has a life of her own and her own name, but I haven't bonded enough to figure it out.

    9. I usually wait until a name just sort of fits once I decide what doll I want. I've never really felt the need to change any of the names I've chosen!

    10. Have you ever renamed a doll you own?
      Yes, more than once.

      If so, Why?
For me the name has to fit, and if it doesn't feel right it gets changed until it does.

      Did it feel strange?
Not really. I don't buy dolls to shell preexisting characters; I buy based on aesthetic preference instead. The styling, naming ect. is part of the bonding experience for me.

Did you get tired of the old name? Did it become too popular? Did it not seem like the doll's real name?

Hehe, this happened with my CP El, so when he arrived he somehow ended up with "Spence" even though the name already belongs to one of my plushies.

Did the personality of your doll change as you got to know him/her?
Kind of. It's also part of the bonding process and it happens gradually.
The only 100% real change happened when I completely revamped one girl; name, looks, style, character - everything. Though she'd been that way for more than a year and I loved her that way, I just felt she didn't fit anymore and so she got a makeover. It felt very strange at first but now it's perfect.

    11. I haven't renamed a doll, exactly, but I'm considering. I was planning on getting a Soom York with the company faceup and calling him Justin Hsui. He was just going to be a modern-day college professor with an interest in extreme sports. Then I got him and his eyeshadow looks really green. I was going to make him a brunette but none of my wigs looked good on him, so I put a white and blue streaked one, and it went REALLY well with his makeup. So now he looks like a fantasy prince and 'Justin' doesn't seem suitable! I'm not sure what to do, so for now I'm calling him York like Soom named him by default.

    12. Yeah, totally just did that a few weeks ago with my doll. I've had her for over two years and I gave her a name at first but it just didn't work and then I didn't know what to name her. But now I'm doubting her name again and uggggggh it sucks. :? I'll find one that sticks eventually.

    13. Ya, I have and I still don't feel like the name is right for him so I am still working on it... I don't think it's weird to change the dolls name at all, especially if you feel like the name doesn't fit him or her at all.

    14. I have. Only once though, and oddly it was the very first doll I got. I was all excited about the name Shiro for the name of my first doll, a DM kid aidan.. From the start it didn't seem right, it seemed so forced and disconnected with him.. I chalked it up to first doll gitters, and tried to make it stick.. Lasted a week, and I had to think of a new name, so one day I just ended up sitting and staring at him and playing with his hands.. (I do that with all my dolls, just sit and fuss over there hands and feet).. And the name Kiyori, came to mind.. Well seven years later and Kiyori, is still Kiyori. I haven't had any other troubles naming my other dolls. Kiyori is just stubborn.. x.x

    15. Yep, in fact I renamed my second doll, a Resinsoul Li. I converted her into a boy and she/he has since gone from Vacide to Sawyer. ^^

    16. I have one girl that I thought I had named, but I thought better of it and now I'm waiting for her body to arrive and to give her a face-up before I settle on anything. The ones who are more of an impulse are a bit more of a process for me, but there are a few who almost named themselves. Remedy was actually named from a dream, heh.

    17. Have you ever renamed a doll you own?

      Yep my Resinsoul Song, Avalon.

      If so, Why?

It felt weird calling him Arcani after I re-strung him and I guess "bonded"? with him. He just didn't feel like an Arcani.

      Did it feel strange?
      Yes for a moment.
Did you get tired of the old name? Did it become too popular? Did it not seem like the doll's real name?

It didn't feel right off the tongue anymore when I looked at him I kept seeing a name with A but nothing fit. I tied Lobo because that's what I originally was going to choose but then I decided to search for mystic names...The name Avalon spoke to me and that was his name forevermore. Once I had the right name for him his personality just blossomed in photographs when instead of a stranger....It felt like I was photographing truly one of my 'crew'. Hell I originally was gonna make it his last name, Arcani I mean but I liked the name Trinidad a little too much....So now he's Avalon Trinidad.

Would you rename a doll if you already haven't?

      I have and I did.

Do you feel as if your doll has something of a life of its own, a name it already wants to be called?

I do sometimes...He seems to move on his own and seems to have preferences in what he prefers....Arcani when I kept calling him that toppled over, kicked, had to be re-strung within the first two hours I had him home...A real pain in the butt then when he was Avalon sure kickiness continued but he seemed to 'behave'.

Did the personality of your doll change as you got to know him/her?
Yes. I imagined Arcani as an alchemist who did elemental experiments on himself and had a gentle personality.

Avalon is.....A gay muffin loving, converse sneaker wearing, grey haired, strutting his stuff, trouble making elf who has no idea what powers he has besides 'My good looks' as it seems.

    18. Hm, I never renamed my dolls. I never thought about this......but I think I will do this in future.....

    19. Totally just happened to me so I can answer...

Have you ever renamed a doll you own? Yep

If so, Why? Originally his name was supposed to be Theo. He immediately seemed like a "Theo" the first time I saw him on the company site. And then he ARRIVED...and was definitely not a Theo. There was something way more complex about him that "Theodore/Theo" no longer fit him. At this point I'm totally reworking his character.

Did it feel strange? Kinda but not really because I had only referred to him as Theo in writing without having him in my possession. I knew there was a possibility that another name would speak to me after he arrived.

Did you get tired of the old name? Did it become too popular? Did it not seem like the doll's real name? It just didn't feel like his name.

Would you rename a doll if you already haven't? I don't think so. Maybe a new nickname if they didn't have one already.

Do you feel as if your doll has something of a life of its own, a name it already wants to be called? Haha. Yep, and that's why the name Theo no longer fit him.

Did the personality of your doll change as you got to know him/her? So funny how this happens but yes. I have only just received my boy and it definitely is changing. I don't have any fantasy characters for example but my new boy is sort of demanding that he be something other that the complex but believably human commonplace characters I have created. Maybe it's the long wig he has on but all of the short wigs I had in mind for him don't suit him. I adore him but I almost don't know what to do with him now. But he'll tell me;)

    20. So far I've only renamed a doll before she arrived, and intentionally. Otherwise I have kept the default names for everyone.
