1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Have your dolls been mistaken for real people?

    1. pwnd XD ..............

    2. I've actually had an old lady on the train berate me for a good minute about how I should have my 'baby' taken away from me since I obviously wasn't feeding him! I sat there in shocked silence and then had to take poor Ju Yon's wig off and hold him upside down to prove he was in fact a doll.
She didn't say much to me after that XD Although the other passengers found it hysterical...

    3. If I had been there, I would have been the jerk who laughed the loudest even if the old lady was right there. Sorry I'm cruel, but that's just too funny. :mwahaha

    4. LMAO. Time for another eye exam.~

    5. I did
I used to put my boy Arsene's pic as my cellphone's wall paper. One day a friend of mine saw him and ask "Who is this guy?"

My other friend (who knows Arsene is a doll) and I both were like "...er..what?"
then we told him Arsene is just a doll XDDD

here's the pic I was talking about

    6. Omg I said it elsewhere, but this is the perfect place for this story.

A couple of days ago I was walking through a park downtown that is also a skating rink in the winter. Well, I was Carrying Artemys in my arms, with his nice new leopard print jacket with a hood and black fur trim. As I'm walking a guy and a girl stop on the ice close to me and the guy says "OH MY GOD IS THAT A MONKEY?" LMFAO! I almost died~!!!! But the girl smacked him in the head and said "No it's a doll, idiot.":doh

And At New years in the same downtown area I had about 10 or so people all ask me throughout the night if he was a baby. Even though he was wearing a blue fleece winter coat I had made him, with a darker blue knitted hat and scarf, It really made him look too tall and thin to be a baby, but people really thought he was.

    8. I have a picture of my boy, Liam, on my desktop, on my computer, and I keep getting asked if he's my boyfriend by classmates! It's kind of awesome, because I always have to laugh, and say, "No, he's a 61 cm tall doll!" and then they get very embarrassed, and admit, "Well, he's beautiful... I did think he looks almost too perfect!"

    9. I thought you were asking did our dolls remind us of real people like my DD has a Supia that reminds me of the little girl I used to baby sit, of course now she is 16! Yikes they grow so fast.
My one SD boy reminds me of my nephew when he was younger. But thinking my dolls were real, no just me weird. LOL

    10. Nothing like carrying a 70 around and having someone tell me I have to feed my baby. Or having a doll wrapped up in a blanket and a lady wanting to see my baby and there's a mini inside :)

    11. Last christmas we were on a christmasmarket (usual here in Germany) and they had those tiny, tiiiny shoes. My Dad asked me "Do you think they would fit Judas?".
Next to us there was an old man, and he thought Judas was my child and looked like "WTF, how can you name your child JUDAS?!". His face was just priceless X'D

Anyway, often on photos people think Judas is real...scary o__o°

    12. To be honest, I found it pretty hysterical myself. You know, -after- the lady had stopped screeching at me XD

Seriously! I could kind of understand it if Ju Yon was SD sized, but what kind of baby fits MSD scale? XD (well that you'd be lugging about on a train anyway).

    13. In my photography class while I was drying my pictures someone snatched up the picture of Reita and made the comment;

"Oh wow... He's gorgeous! You must have been standing on a latter to get that angle."
"Actually no I just stood over him."
      "Come again?"
      "I stood over him... He's a doll."
      "Nuh uh!"

So I proceeded to pull him out of my bag, I think she was shocked. But now she wants one too~ XD She says they seem easier to deal with than real models.

    14. None of my BJDs has been because I have really only taken out my tinies before and even then, not a lot. When DD would take around her American Girl doll and we would put it in the shopping carriage, people would think she was real if they didn't look carefully, but in passing.

On one of the other doll lists a few years ago, someone was telling about how their daughter had left their American Girl doll in the car while they shopped. They came back and there was a policeman at the car looking around. It seems that someone had been walking by the car, seen the doll, and thought a baby had been left in the car alone. So, they called the police. The mom had to open the door and show the officer that it was indeed a doll and there weren't any children in the car.

    15. My husband often gets werided out by them, when they are in a box he says they look like little children in coffins. He refuses to call them by names though too *cries*

    16. I don't cart Roland around with me everywhere, but if I'm looking for something for him I will. While looking in a local Toys R' Us for a chair that would fit him, a lady shopping with her little kid thought he was real.

Lady (all smiles): "Aww, she's cute! How old is she?"
Me (confused): "She? Oh! Uhm, Roland is a boy, and he's not real; he's a doll." *pulls down his sleeve to show off his wrist joint.* "I'm just looking for some furniture that'll fit him."
Lady: *Gives me creeped-out look and backs away, disappears out of aisle.*

What annoyed me is that Roland was cute when he was "real", but being a doll made him automatically creepy. If doll freak her out that much, why was she in the pink aisle in the first place? *grumbles*

But these other stories are funny, too! I'm sorry, but the one about the angry old lady had me giggling like a madman.

Although the waitresses at restaurants are usually cool about it (I know, I'm odd, but it's fun to take him out once in a while. My husband doesn't mind, and the cold is bad for Roland's resin, so he can't stay in the car) They often ask if I want a booster seat for him! XD

    17. Lmao yes more than once, and I have quite a few a hilarious stories to go with it. Once I was talking to an ex's friend online and he mistook them for real people XD Apparently thought they were my boyfriends. I was talking about doing a romantic photoshoot, but apparently he took that horribly wrong and though I was making a porn with 2 guys XD Lol it was kinda funny. It was funnier when he got to meet them a month later. Best facial expression ever XD

    18. LOL! I'll bet he looked something like this-->:? or maybe like this-->:aeyepop: when he actually got to meet those "boyfriends" of yours!

    19. Yes I have photos of my AF Lily that people have thought were a real person!!!

    20. I don't take my dolls out all the time so I haven't had this happen in person. But with photos, oh yeah all the time. There has been many many times a friend or someone will see a photo on my computer and say
      person "who is that"
      me "oh that's my doll"
      person "wait what?"
