Have your dolls hurt you?

I got my finger pinched behind my Miyu Jeanie's head when I first recieved her. I don't think she liked me taking opening photos of her before she had some hair and clothes!

 

The other day i was opening Cloud's eyes and when i was putting his head back on his body the plyers slipped off of the S hook causing me to smack myself in the nose, i'm ashamed to say its not the first time thats happened.

 

Man, this is terriffically alarming stuff, to an as-of-yet non-owner. Is this thing going to KILL ME?

 

Ouch- this sounds like a dangerous addiction.

I've cut open my hand cutting the heads of My Little Ponies for rehairs, but I haven't hurt myself with a doll yet!

 

Hmm how should I start. Okay:
H.Kirill(Shiki) : Kicked me in the ribs upon his arrival, pinched me multiple times with his thigh joint, slapped me, head butted me hard in nose on his arrival, pinched me till I saw stars with his knee joint, ate my fingers when I attempted to re-string him.

DOB Pisces(Otis) : Pinched me with every joint she had.

H.Ducan(Hypno) Head butted my nose and eye on his arrival, clamped my hand hard with his thigh joint, utterly distroyed my hand with his knee joint, kicked me, slapped me.

I shall not state the rest XD

 

Sounds like I have a lot of pain to look forward to Since I'm gonna have to restring or tighten the stringing on my future doll at some point... And I'm a terrible klutz
Lot's of painful stories here... Especially kuraiangels's story on the first page made me cringe

 

hmm so when i get myself into this hobby it looks like i will need A LOT of band-aids, and be prepared for hearbutts slaps and pinches...

eek sounds like a painful hobby but the old saying goes "No pain, No gain" hahaha.

 

I had a finger pinched when I try to change the doll's muscle ,it is really hurtT_T

 

Hmmm I have a few battle wounds from re-stringing my Bobobie Lian (Ardara)... She's a feisty little thing and didn't like me fiddling with her so the every moment she got she smashed my fingers in her joints! and now, because of her, I have permanent calluses on my index fingers from pulling her strings through.
When I first got my Iplehouse Luo (Demitri) He was so loose that when I was trying to pull his pants up he flopped forward and knocked me in the nose and proceeded to face plant into my boobs. he's such a guy!

 

um,my dolls hurt my wallet alot,does that count????

 

I had my doll held infront of me putting her head back on (she's an Obitsu so squeeshing it back on actually) and pinched one of my boobs

 

I was moving my doll's back joint for a pose, but he snapped right back up causing a painful pinch to my middle finger it created a tiny blood blister. D':

 

i havn't gotten hurt yet but when my partner was modding a doll, she sliced her thumb open with an exact-o knife. it bleed for for most of the night, its just healed actulley...

 

x_x I tried my friend's 1/3 girl head on my 1/4 boy's body, and when I tried to detach the head with my hands (cos I was too lazy to go get a string or smth... *Smacks self*) the hook slipped and caught my finger with it. ;3; it was trapped for a good 10 minutes with the sharp point of the s-hook on my finger... x_x had to pull my finger out sideways, and the S-hook totally tore the skin badly. @_@ there was blood and lots of pain, and my finger was numb for the whole half day after that... OTL

and I've smacked myself in the face when I was trying to put my 1/4's head back onto his body using the back of a paintbrush to pull the hook up slightly... cos again, I was too lazy to go get a piece of string. =x= the brush snapped and I punched myself in the nose. OTL

and my boy's pinched me plenty. XD;

.w. but I take pain pretty well so it's fine~

 

I was holding my MSD boy when he first arrived, and my mum said he looked weird and I agreed because he was wigless at the time, and he moved and one of my fingers was pinched in his back crease! D:
OWWW!

 

My SD/70cm dolls have all pinched my fingers on several occaisions, and I've once had my leg pinched - from holding a body between my knees to pull up and tighten elastic. Haven't yet been pinched by my msd, and I doubt my tiny could ever pinch me. I hope anyway!

SOOM sent her too tight, and while I haven't restrung her yet, and she still stands like a champ, every time I pull out one of her limbs to look at how it's made (I'm sculpting her a boyfriend), the elastic snaps at me. I stick my finger in there to keep it from going back together, and DANG! is it tight!

On the other hand, my SD dollie Anne has never hurt me. When I got her she slept for the first month curled up, so she's nice and loose now, not floppy, but loose. Just how I like it.

My SD miumi has a weird joint near her hip that allows her to move her legs from side to side. And I ALWAYSS get pinched by it!

 

That was me, I was modding her thigh to have a mobility joint, cleaning up the edge with an exacto. I slipped and the knife stuck right in the pad of my thumb until I pulled it out, Ive got a half inch long triangle scar now
