Have your dolls hurt you?

XD the only time my doll hurt me was A: when he fell and broke a finger (inner hurt and pocket hurt, had to replace his hand) I glued it back on but, now he has a ring of glue around that finger i couldn't get off so....it was back to fixing him with buying new hands ><.....and B: restringing...it hurts my weak fragile hands when I gotta restring the legs to the feet after cleaning him, unfortunately my parents smoke so keeping him in a bag doesn't necessarily mean he'll stay clean.

 

my first BJD Devon my elfdoll lydia was quite vicious with me...i opened her up and was so excited...i held her up in front of me to have a good look at her..she tipped forward and headbutted me on the nose....i had a lovely little cut on the top of my nose for 2 weeks....needless to say i still have her 4 years later

 

My hands get pinched in my girl Rowans knee joints alot. Thats my fault though. :P

 

Devi (2005 CP El) hurt my wallet because I bought him from a sweet lady in France and the USD=Euros conversion kept bumping the price up. Ah well, he's worth it and he's on the way home! That darn incubus!

 

Lets see, while restringing, lots of pinching and cuts occurred. And on Dos's first day home, she gave me a head butt. :/

 

Nope. I guess I am super careful with them so far. But now that I have read many of these threads I know what to watch out for!

 

Finally have my first injury to add to this thread. I was attempting to change my girl's feet (first time swapping just the feet, don't have any proper restringing tools) and I just about got the first one off, when the foot came off but the s-hook didn't. I had a moment of "Oh crap" and the elastic shop up the leg while the s-hook nicked my finger. Had to take her legs apart and put them back together just to change her feet. Now there's a tiny little drop of my blood on the elastic in her leg. She's staying strung until her elastic wears out.

 

The first day I had Poe he decided to snap forward and head-butt me >.<
Then he decided later on to be kicky and kick a bruise on my hip.
Other than that I haven't been hurt too much *knock on wood*

 

For me, it was the run of the mill getting my flesh bitten my snapping joints. My old Hound was especially notorious for this. I was lucky enough not to have drawn blood in any of these cases.

 

I only have one body at the moment (it belongs to my Soom MD Chrom, Faolan) but I have several floating heads and wanted to see what they'd look like on a body. I took off Faolan's head and set it aside (back on his cushion in safety :P) and promised him that he'd get his body back in a little bit. Well, I put my Migidoll Noel (his name's Candide) head on Faolan's body and tried to get him to sit on the edge of the coffee table so I could style his wig and take a few pictures... I have really long hair (down past my waist) and every time I bent his knee or elbow or tried to get him to lean forward a little bit, he pinched my hair in his joints and wouldn't let go! Every few seconds there would be an "ouch!" and a "Faolan! Be nice!" I only had enough battery in my camera to take a few pictures so when it died I put Candide away and put Faolan back together. As soon as I did (I played with him a little bit after that too) the pinching stopped. Apparently, Faolan doesn't like other people trying on his body. XD

but I think two minor pinches of stiff dollie joints hurts ^^

 

Many times I've had chunks taken out of my hands by various joints >_<

 

I have tendonitus which comes and goes. When I recieved my Iplehouse EID it came on again very badly because of the handling of her as shes the heaviest doll I have owned. I couldnt carry her round or play with her very easily and I had to sell her! I would be fine for afew days then pick her up or dress her and it would hit me again, I have similar sized dolls but it was the EID weight that did me in, so no more EID women for me even though I love them.
I had a twinge of tendonitus these last couple of days as I just got a Super Gem and have been carrying her round but nothing I cant handle compared to the agony I was in with EID!

 

Not my personal doll, however my friend's DOD Lahoo snagged a portion of my arm when she was moving him around. Pinched my arm something wicked.

 

i've received injuries while modding but that was more my own overzealous zeal than the doll ^^"

 

I got the dolly-headbutt-of-pain-and-doom one time when I was holding my boy. I had him standing on my stomach while I was laying down, and suddenly flop! he bent over with incredible force, hitting me square on the bone of my nose >.<; I put him in time-out XD I don't think he appreciated it cause after that, I had some experience with the infamous pinching.

 

Nothing yet. Really, I doubt it'll happen.

Still pretty new to how she works and all, being I've had her for about a month - and most days are filled with school.

 

I know this is something of a dead thread, but after last night's incident, I had to seek it out.

I was restringing Silfe (IMPLDoll Aaron). His foot had come apart, but I thought I could somehow get the S-Hook to stay on if he was strung. Not a bright idea, so what follows was my own dumb fault.

It didn't work like that.The S-hook snapped back with the elastic, dug into the quick of my nail and dragged my thumb into his leg. I couldn't get my finger back out....so I had to yell for my parents to come save me. It's the one time in a long time I'm glad I still live with them.... My mom managed to cut the elastic to shreds. Dunno how, I had passed out by that point...

To make a long story short, my thumb hurts terribly and Silfe is not going to be restrung...by me.

 

My girlfriend also ran excitedly towards her dolls once in the attic and her head bounced off one of the attic beams... She stunned for a few minutes and damned her dolls, so be careful of obstructions before squee!

 

This thread has made me scared to try restringing o___o
