Have your dolls hurt you?

I swear I posted here before XD Must not have...

Headbutt of doom: Happened first day I had my first boy, Mercutio, my B&G Morant. Nosebleed lasted for a while.
Pinched fingers: Constantly.
"Bites" onmy neck from cuddling: ALL THE TIME.
S-hook cuts: Oh yeah.

 

funny stories! jaaja i just hurt myself customicing them just because using knifes is dangerous

I was fixing the string of my doll (coming out of the neck and attaching to the head)
and suddenly I almost lost grip of it, so I was holding it with all my strength for it not to snap away and undo everything. But I wasn't strong enough and it snapped out of my fist, slitting my finger open with the hook at the end. There was blood everywhere... doll included!! After that I completely forgot my pain and just hurried to clean her to be sure she would not have stains. I was horrified.

 

YEah my doll kick me XD yeah I restring the part of the legs and I string very hard and I sit her and the nature movement of leg kick me on a stomach XD this hurts

 

The worst that's happened with my first boy (RS Feng) is sore hands from re-stringing...but my second boy, being all single jointed (he's a RS Song) has kicky legs which bite! People looked at me like i was crazy when i was like "ow! you bit me!" to my doll in the middle of a statistics class...

I have also lerned that pointy elf ears hurt. i've already been stabbed in the head and face with them!

 

They've hurt my wallet! LOL Does that count?

 

Gao has made me bleed before. I swear his chest joint has been sharpened or something!
And Linnear smacked his head into my nose, but that was a little more my fault then his.

 

I got slapped & kicked by my boy when I try to unstrung him... XD;;;
My fingers was squeezed when I try to change my girl's feet...
I think they hate me for making a mess with their body, hahaha...

so well muh stories is pretty simple... but i was playing with my friends unoa boy. and i made him into a dinosaur (flailing his arms around and screaming "RAWR IMA DINOOO") and i cant remember what body part pinched me. but i had this blood blister for liek a week . . :3 pfff. he hates me. :]]]

 

This is such a perfect timing to find this thread!! My EID Jessica just try to snap my finger in her feet socket while I try to change her foots!!!!! It does hurt, but good thing I can grab her S hook and take my finger out in time, still it hurt my finger Does anyone who how to change hands and feet of your doll without hurting yourself?

 

me and my fiancée call it 'being bitten' xD when they nip us in a joint. and the little blighter really can bite a good one! so much one drew a blood blister! D:

 

Pinchy joints are the only thing that's ever happened to me. Oh, and my nails hurt for ages after trying to take her head apart to put the eyes in. @_@

 

When I was restringing Cream the string snapped back hitting my thumb, along with the bobbypin I was using to string him with. Needless to say I have a small painful mark from that. My other thumb was swollen from holding the string. >_>
But he also got a few damages, nothing a little work wouldn't fix though.

 

Mostly before I had the proper tools to string/ suade a doll. I've pinched my finger lots of times when trying to hook the string to the S hook attached to the hand, Burned my fingers when trying to add hot glue to tiny strips of suade, and got my fingers pinched on my doll's 2 part chest.

 

I have one absolutely GLORIOUS story. So, I was trying to blush my doll's body for the first time ever, so I had the head off and had just finished the first coat of spray. I picked the doll up and decided to hold on to him in an upright position by the legs (dumb dumb dumb move). Needless to say, the heavy chest area made him bow down towards me and I got scraped right across the forehead by the S hook. It bled and there was a scab/scar there for a few weeks. It was HILARIOUS. Didn't hurt much, thank goodness. My friend and I lol'd hardcore.

 

I got a kick in the head while trying to put him in his bag. His leg popped up and he got me, not to hard but it was a rather funny incident.

 

I have had my share of pinches and bumps when trying to pose Nina. I bet I have a lot more to come when I try restringing for the first time.

 

Several times. Headbutting and finger snapping seem to be his favorite form of abuse. xD

 

It seems to me that many of these "S-hook snapped and caught my body part"-type injuries might be lessened if people used hemostats/nipper scissors/clamps/ when they pull out the string, and then catch the hemostats on the end of the resin where the string comes out, thus preventing it from diving inside and catching body parts.

Maybe that's why I didn't get hurt much while restringing.

Well, I've definately had my fair share of pinches, bites, kicks and such things. I've gotten blood blisters from my boy Artemys' waist joint, and I've definately nicked myself making things fo them, (Such as clothes and stuff) but my most painful doll related injury wasn't from my dolls directly, but from Protecting one.

I was going to the mall, and I had my 60cm boy Artemys in my arms. (like a baby) I was in the bus terminal, where there are two escalators and a flight of stairs to get to the lower level. I decided to take the stairs because the escalators were crowded. And someone tripped me. I kid you not! Literally stuck his foot out in front of mine. I fell down, from the very top of a very steep flight of stairs.
I rolled and flipped all the way to the bottom, and the only instinctive thing I could think to do, was protect Artemys. I held him close to my chest in desperation, instead of trying to catch the railing or something to stop falling... I heard people around me scream... when I hit the floor I was so confused I couldn't move. Someone called an ambulance for me, and the cops showed up too. Another person actually saw the guy trip me, so I know I didn't just fall on my own.... But the guy was long gone by the time help arrived. I remember while I was on the ground (Face down I might add) That all I could do was call to my mom (Who was right behind me on the staircase) "Artemys!! Is he okay? He's under me! Save him!" And her reassuring me that he was fine, after pulling him out from under me >< (I was bawling my eyes out BTW, at the thought that I may have crushed him...)

In the end, Artemys came out of it without a scratch, thankfully. I ended up going to the hospital, with a sprained ankle and a nasty bump on the head.
If I had thought to protect myself before my doll, maybe I could have prevented the sprain... would I have done it differently though? Nope. Artemys comes first! ^^''
