Have your dolls hurt you?

Last night, I was tightening Ryuichi's stringing using two hemostats [aka scissor clamps] while trying to get his foot back on. Somehow they both slipped and I ended up the heavy hemostat hit me in the upper lip! It hurt SO BAD that I thought I split my lip open! Luckily, it only cut the inside of my lip and I didn't get any blood on him.

Needless to say, it took me another hour to get that foot on!

Next time, I'm putting in new stringing!

Me and my sister have only one sd male body. The body swapped between three head, and I never had a problem. Then we got a luts winter 2010 head. As soon as we put that head on the body he started hurting me. I got karate chopped right on my wrist bone and smacked with his cane numerous times. The previous head had been wearing the same outfit and had had the same cane and he never hit me. He never seems to hit my sister just me .

 

Wow, BJDs are dangerous...

So far, I've just gotten my fingers pinched, and I think I've probably been knocked in the head once or twice as they fell forwards while I was trying to pose them. No blood yet. Of course, I'm fairly new to the hobby and am yet to completely restring one of my dolls. I have already heard tales of fingers cut on S-hooks, so I've been as careful as possible when taking off their heads for faceups.

 

Actually once, My BJD was sitting on my desk and it was night, so It was dark, I had a lamp on and in the middle of the night I decided to turn it off. I bent down under my desk to turn off the lamp switch and as I was crouching down I hit my BJD's leg and he fell on my head, luckily he wasn't damaged. But he's a Soom Super Gem and it hurt quiet alot XD.

Also the other day I cut my finger trying to get my dolls head off :/

I was putting a shirt on my boy and had his arms raised when i liften him up to tug the hem out of his chest separation (which had pinched on it) when his arm did a karate chop motion and came down the bony part of my nose. I got teary eyed, but i forgave him for his insulance and went ahead with dressing him =)

 

When restringing my boy, I nearly passed out- mainly because I didn't realize our air conditioner wasn't working and the room got hot and it was so difficult to get the string through that yeah. Later on, same day, he also snapped and hit my finger pretty damn hard. It hurt, and that was when I finally took a break. XD

 

I brought my friend's Doll Family Linfeng home so I could give him a new face-up this week. His first night home, I got bored and curious so I started playing around with him. I knew he was really tightly strung, but I never expected his torso joint to be a sinister, unyielding maw of pain and despair. I bent his back then straightened it out again, when I did, his torso joint caught my pinky and pinched it HARD. It hurt like hell and he wouldn't let go because he was so tight. My girlfriend thought I was just kidding around until I actually called for help because I just couldn't get my finger loose. After I was free, it was numb and hurt for a few hours, but thankfully no blood blisters. o-o;

Oh, and he did it again too, except this time with his leg and thankfully it wasn't as bad; Right after I finished his face-up too...

 

Well, here's a silly one... I was trying to get my SD boy to stand a couple weeks ago. I was holding him by the thighs, not a grip he appreciated much...and he proceeded to show me exactly how much he disapproved by flopping over and whacking my hand with his boy bits. XD;; Stung for a minute, too.

 

I get my fingers pinched in one of my dolls joints a disproportionate amount to my other dolls. She just must not like me very much or something. XD I've also been biffed in the face by my doll's heads and things like that a few times. I don't think I've ever actually had any blood drawn from incidents with my dolls, but I certainly have making clothing for them...

 

Lets see.... I have had blood blisters, bumps, cuts, and a bruises from my dolls XD Mainly its because one of them had a floppy torso joint, and because of re-stringing XD

 

I've got a few good pinches from some difficult DD head caps and banged my fingernail in an attempt to switch my one of my SSDFs hands with jointed ones when I first got him, but that's about it.

I did manage to puncture my hand with a needle file when trying to customize a DD head once, but I'm not sure if that counts.

 

Most of my dolls are surprisingly gentle! None of them have ever drawn blood or left lasting marks. The only one who nips me does it because he's super-floppy, and he also pulls my hair. I forgive him though

 

I hurt myself restringing a bit. Mainly with Saif.

 

lol it happens... Jayden 'bit me' pinched by joints three times last night because I was being careless while dressing and posing him... he is also quite kicky and punchy at times... I know it's because he is a bit tight but he's also fairly new and it will pass with time as he stretches out some... However, it completely goes with his character to be aggressive so I don't really feel the need to change it! It works for him and I kind of like it! Does that make me a masochist?! Oops oh well :P

 

My doll kicks me and pinches me all the time. Sometime it actually hurts. =(

I've scratched my finger on the S hook when taking off/putting on Tovi's head before, but nothing more major than that. Never even drawn blood. Certainly nothing to compare to some of these stories. O_o Now I'm even more scared to ever attempt to restring my doll.

 

My boy's chest joint likes to pinch my finger and the first day my friend got her mnf, I was holding her and she just jolts forward and hits my nose! It was quite painful and I'm glad my own MNF doesn't do that!

 

yes, badly.. Sophie has double jointed knees that lock. So it pinched my thumb and locked If i waited any longer, she wouldve taken a piece of my thumb! Funny thing, it happened after i contemplated selling her, 0_0
