Have your dolls hurt you?

I figure there MUST be a reason Dollzone made such a pointy nose on their prone-to-topple-forward 70cm boys... and not just to put pits in my head!

 

I've had one of my dolls fall on my head and another on my foot before. And of course, joint pinching.

 

I was injured twice by the same doll. The first time was the day he came home. I was dressing Amoux in this purple button down merely as an experiment. I assume he wasn't thrilled because when I went to stand him up he stayed for a few seconds then BOOM. His head collided with mine.

Time two- I was doing his faceup, finished and when to reattach the bed and got my index finger pinched. Yeah...ow.

Soom boys are a lot more vicious then I expected. Ha.

 

I've had my fingers pinched in joints a bunch, but never anything bad. Nothing that drew blood, certainly; I've been lucky. I'm also usually not the one doing the restringing.

The worst incident I can think of is when I was putting Florian's head back on. He's a Shiwoo head on an Iplehouse body, so he needs a neck donut for his s-hook to sit in. I put my finger in the top of the s-hook to pull it up, but he's tightly strung and I'm weaksauce, so I couldn't pull it up very far. Just enough to get the donut in. I put it in, but ...I'm really not sure what happened, but something slipped, weight shifted, and suddenly the s-hook was completely cutting off circulation to my finger and I couldn't pull it out and it HURT SO BAD. Akari (my roommate *points at her*) tried to give me wire or something to stick in there, but I couldn't move my finger, hell I couldn't even feel my finger anymore. Finally I was able to yank it out, and my finger was all purple and misshapen (it looked uhh...naughty ) and pretty sore for a while. The "during" was worse than the "after", really. My frantic thoughts were that I was gonna lose my finger, or at the very least have to go to the emergency room with a headless doll attached to my hand.

 

When I first got Xan, I think my middle finger ended up getting sliced on his seams. D: It felt like a very deep paper cut. But I didn't have it until after I took him out of the box and handled him a bit.

Roslin gave me raw hands trying to get her restrung the first time after trying to loosen her stringing.

And the obligatory pinches when fingers get stuck in joints. >_>

 

I think the only battle wound I have earned myself so far was a good poke in the eye when I was trying to get pants on John.
DoD hands hurt.

 

Blackbird's body came to me just insanely tightly strung... It's s-hook did a real number on my fingers when I tried to adjust the position of the knots. And Seimei, my former Dollshe Hound, tried to punch me in the nose right out of the box.

 

i was changing a head on my doll that was sitting on my kitchen counter.... i tugged on the "S" hook with the needle nose pliers, and...... zoink, right in the eye.... the pliers slipped and the point went into my eyeball..... yowie it hurt like the dickens. i thought i had blinded myself, but fortunately i can still see. i will never try that again, no sir-ee.

 

Oh no! Miss Ally that was a close call! I'm glad your eye was okay!.....

...I've had S hooks 'slip' and catch me on my finger!...drawing blood!

My most recent injury was a good 'finger pinching' caused by my Leekeworld Milch head cap!! super strong magnets in her head cap...it really 'snaps' and you have to get your fingers out of the way! Who would think a doll could hurt you...

I have never actually tried to restring... thank goodness I have not had to yet. But Jace has slapped me while I have moved his arms a few times XD

 

Yeah, but only small nicks by getting stuck in joints. The same doll also headbanged me in the face a couple of times, even though it didn't leave any wounds it really hurt. It seems that my SoulKid Miryu is the most dangerous doll I have, she's the guilty one in both those cases.

One of my large girls also managed to prod me straight in the eye when she tried to fall over when I was photographing her. So much gratitude for me saving her

I had to restring her arms, because I didn't do it right the first time, I just got my re-string hook today. Anyways I made S hooks from paper clips and when I was removing them to replace them with REAL S hooks, the one paper clip JABBED me right in my thumb, very very deep...needless to saw I got Blood on the arm and the string...plus the s hook went under my (other) thumb nail and drew blood there too.. So now both my thumbs have bandages on them..

Now I know how people get injured re-stringing the doll...XD

I don't want to touch her for another year T.T

 

Oh, Starend, that sounds horrible!!

Thankfully, the most I've gotten are a few pinches and some scratches from S-hooks when restringing. Never quite blood, though, thankfully!

 

well... my Lily whipped me with her string a few times and there was one time when she ambused me and shoved her high heels into my piggy toe, but dolls drawing blood? leathal

 

i was moving some props for an antique shoot i was doing. i just HAD to have these props. so i was watching my doll when BAM some sliced glass from the glass case i was holding sliced my finger open. i still have a scar, lol.

also, i once had my boy on the bed on the edge. he began to fall and i whirled around, trying to balance an antique lamp on the desk and catch my boy. needless to say i grabbed my boy, but the lamp collapsed onto the floor and the bulb shattered and whatnot. i was both flustered/embarrassed and amused at the same time that in my world, my priorities were dolls > antiques.

 

Hmm? What? *currently typing with one hand while the other is on an ice pack*

Cain's drawn blood... His nails are way sharper than they look! And they're so thin it's like a paper cut T__T

Shadow's S-hook got me a couple times... Usa gave me a good scratch with one of his ears when he flopped over... My dolls are out to get meeeeee XD

 

I got a couple of really painful headbutts to my forehead and/or my face before I sueded Evelette's neck joint and even then, once in awhile, she would bend at her hip joints and hit me in the head. She's quite the brat like that .

 

Oh my... I nearly can't read after the second page, I'm cringing on the inside ;P I'm so scared to restring my MSDs now ! O_O You poor things !

I myself, no injuries just yet.

 

Luckily, I've found that MSD are the easiest for me to restring ^.^;

Oh really O_O thanks well that is encouraging i certainly hope so, my hands aren't strong. I'll prob need help cos of that anyhows :O
