Have your dolls hurt you?

This. I think it's a doll wide conspiracy that the minute you're admiring them, they are going to pitch forward for an attack.

Otherwise my Shiwoo seems out for blood. He's fallen and busted my lip open twice. I was also trying to reset his torso that comes out of socket and dislocated my pinky.

 

By list:

Syril: pinched fingers with headcap, minor headbutts
Keiya: sliced fingers twice with glass shards [wtf], pinched, headbutted
Ilaeya: poked by ears and nails
Tae: pinched only a couple of times
Iniabi: Nothing so far XD she's tiny!
Cloud: Pinched, kicked, and he's killed my hardware a couple of times, too...
Luneth: Nothing 8D;

 

My hound loves to pinch me all the time. I get my fingers stuck in his tummy joint and the back of his knees without noticing. >< My Akando has had his share of pinching me too with his knees.
And doll eyes. D: Whenever I put glass eyes into my Chiwoo or Woosoo I always get my fingers cut on the stems. Why? lol I have no idea. XD

 

Jesst - has the old style AoD headcap with the resin bridge, pinches my fingers every time I mess with his eyes.
Eleusis - also has a resin bridge headcap (though is Dollzone) and also nips my fingers every time, less so than Jesst though.
Sankkarr - where do I start? Her s-hook loves taking chunks out of my thumb, has several times flicked a bent arm into my face and pinched me with her knees.
Batoxxx - decided to pull his obitsu head doughnut out of place (how I have yet to work out), however it turned on my finger. Dolls love pinching me.
Sornnn - gave me a blister on my hands from restringing him. Was my first restring and his legs would pull tight and waist would flop, so I had to restring him over four times.
Sumekh: Does this count? Gave me a very severe rash over one hand after I touched his face. How I found out I was allergic to MSC

On a side, my father was shifting things on my tiny corner and got a little thumb cut from Raja's knee after Raja's leg flicked back after being brushed.

 

Elder's headcap pinches my fingers. The magnet is so strong! >.>

 

My souldoll, Lupinus (Erestor), was always strung too tightly up until about 5 months ago. So for a whole year I endured pinched fingers, and legs and arms flying up at me whenever I tried to dress him. ouchy indeed. And then came the day of re-stringing him, which was stupid of me as I am an amateur of dollfies in general. i like to collect, not customise, or mold or fix or anything. So i tried to re-string him with the first instructions I found on the net and no restringing tool! shoelaces and pipe cleaners seemed to work though, but my hands were blistering for days after!

 

Strange that dolls do seem to looove to pinch ya, lol. I get pinched rather often. Damn near lost an eye not to long ago to a swinging limb or snapping leg. I swear my Peakswood Cue is strung so tightly you could probably draw an arrow with some portion of her anatomy.

I really seem to get hurt when I'm sewing their clothing though. I swear that every garment I sew probably draws a least two or three drops of blood. Especially thicker fabrics. Even using a thimble I've got issues with sore fingerips and what not. Rather abusive hobby we have here

 

I dropped Nikki on my foot once and it *really* hurt. (Nikki: Serves you right, too)

But that was nothing compared to the time I accidentally sewed right onto my finger with the sewing machine. The needle actually went *through* my finger and out the other side. It was so surreal, it took me half a minute to feel the pain. And the blood stains wouldn't come out either, so that was one piece of good sewing wasted...

i tried restringing my boys for the first time yesterday and my fingers hurt a lot afterwards. @__@; also got my fingers caught in stuff a few times.

Agreed. The last lime I had to string my boy, I lost my grip on his leg while pulling the elastic out and got a huge blood bruise on my middle pinky joint.

 

Yes I have a LOT of re-stringing horror stories! The worst part is the hand burn from pulling the elastic. I'm stupid and use wires sometimes for ease, and man I've really hurt my hand pulling it!

Last night Sevin's headcap crushed my fingers - evil bastard, I should have known better - I decided his eyes weren't positioned properly and had forgotten he's old and doesn't have a magnetic headcap (damn those S-Hook attached ones!) and when I pried it off, it snapped back in and took my fingers with it!

 

Poked..STABBED in the eye with those damn ridiculous long fingers.

xD Well not off my hand or anything, but they were in his head between it and the headcap totally pinched! It was one of those things where it hurts so bad you can't even talk for a minute. I wanted to hurl him across the room!

 

Wow...that sounds painful to think of throwing it across the room! I mean, I got my finger caught in her torso (she just decided to snap back into position when I was checking something), and got some skin pinched...but...ouch XD

 

I don't think I'm EVER restringing my dolls. Even though they have some twitchy legs. I take meds that thin my skin, I can get a bruise from brushing against the freezer door at the grocery store. I hate to think what I'd look like if I restrung a doll, I get enough "What happened to you?" questions now.

 

I haven't [yet], but when I was at Slrphebos' house and she was helping me restring part of my doll, I thought her fingers were going to break or get smushed, and they were all sore afterward.... [for some reason, Resin Soul dolls have the knots for both the legs and arms up in the head, and his arm kept doing wonky things, so she fixed him. =D]

I'm scared to completely restring a doll for the first time. Slrphebos told me hers drew blood. O-o

 

I had the same problem with my SSDF until I restrung him tighter (so I can't get my fingers in there anymore XD). Those suckers bite!
