1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Like those Maury episodes. XD
      I second this.

    2. My dolls have dinstinct gender characteristics. There's no way around that to my mind, nor do I want there to be, not without me changing the entire character and doing serious mods.

    3. I'm very open when it comes to doll decisions because usually whenever I give a definitive answer to anything, a few days later I'll do the opposite. So far, I keep my dolls one gender. But I could get a doll in the future that I think would be better as the opposite sex. Or I might have some strange supernatural creature that can change genders. Those characters haven't popped up yet though, so for now they're stuck to one gender.

    4. I have a character that is two people stuck in one body, and the body changes genders depending on who is in "control" (Yes it's a little weird!). I want to someday give this character a dolly form, so I found two sculpts that looked enough alike that they could be the two "halves" of the character. I probably could just take the same head and put it on a male/female body, but they're not identical, so I didn't want to do that.

All of my other characters are a specific gender.

    5. My L-bi is a genderswitching alien, so he has the big milkparts on the boy-body (first I kind of did for the lulz, but then I realised that I liked having a character that didn't fit into the male/female-mould).

    6. I don't think I could do that. My dolls are one character, whom interact with other characters. You can't have interaction when your one doll is everyone and anyone. I suppose I could see the perks in that, but eh. I'd rather have a doll for each individual character. That way I don't need to change them around so much. All I really have to change is clothes. XD
The closest I would come to that, is a character that changes their look all the time (ie, wigs, eyes, and possible face-up). But that's about it.

    7. Ummm o__O my dolls are all based on pre-existing characters. In the process of revising a story I changed a character's gender and that reflected on the doll I chose, but my dolls adhere strictly to the character's I've written in the past. I have one arbitrary doll purchase coming in and I haven't bothered assigning a gender though I will happily stick the doll in dresses lol.

    8. Mine are all boys! :bcupcake Even the super-glam ones are all man. I am the only female character in the house. (Unless you count my action-figures of Cruella deVil and Harley Quinn.)

Well, technically one of the boys is an asexual doll (Rei-Tenshi), but his name is Jimmy & I call him a he. ^^ My three Tinies are imps, so gender is a much less important construct to their characters. But for the rest of the humans & demi-humans, yes, their maleness is quite central to their characters.

    9. I was just thinking about this the other day. I have ordered a brownie which will be a fairy type creature. It's not that he (using the word he since english lacks an adequate noun) will have two sexes he switches between, rather he will be sort of a third option: something that's neither male nor female yet contains both. My girl however is a girl and nothing but a girl, I could put her in a short wig and a three piece suit with shoulderpads and she would still very much be a she.

    10. My dolls are definately one sex and I couldn't imagine them being anything else.
I have seen some androgynous dolls that I could see as both, but to me, mine are both girls.

    11. i do have some dolls that i want some changes. when i have a new plan about his/her character or face-up, i may consider to change his/her sex. but i will also change the body, not only dress up for changes.

    12. I think one of the main points of bjds are their versatility, so i vote for "not only does it change sex, it changes personalities!" heh

    13. Um... No. That would so confuse me.

    14. I vote for "interchangable")) It is so funny.

    15. Uh.. Well, my doll has a chest. So I think it'd be hard for her to be a boy?

But when I get my tiny, I'm thinking of eventually getting a second faceplate and a second set of clothes and having a boy face and girl face and have it be both whenever I want :D

    16. My Puki changed gender when I changed her wig, but I think its going to be a permanent change so I don't really count xD Its easier with little dolls because they really can go either way. Its more difficult with bigger dolls because they usually have more defining features (or body parts xD)

    17. :o my male obitsu likes dresses and girly clothes, bu has no issue with sweater vests and cowboy hats either. He's always male, but has no fear when it comes to being in something frilly or pink or both!

    18. I haven't considered the possibility of hermaphrodite/asexual dolls... it's an intriguing idea. Having my dolls change personalities, though... I just get so used to thinking of them as one way or the other. I had a girl head as a boy's for so long that now that she's back on her original body (and for sale) that I still think of her as a boy.

    19. My girl at the moment is based off of a preexisting character who has always been female, so it was only natural the her resin embodiment should have the same gender distinction. Maybe in the future I'll have a character/doll who happens to be either asexual or a hermaphrodite, but at the moment all of my plans are for gender-defined dolls, and at least until I really get situated in the hobby, it'll probably stay that way.

    20. They are what they are and it's as plain as that. I don't like to change the sex of my dolls or anything. I can't imagine my girls as boys...
