1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Help! New Doll Emergency

Jun 10, 2007

    1. This might be a scary though, especially because you don't want to unstring your doll, but maybe you could unhook the other hand. That might give the rest of the elastic enough slack so that you can pull out the fallen hook. Just make sure to put a pen or something into the elastic of the hand you pull out so that it doesn't fall in, too!XD

    2. Thanks, ya'll! I'm about to try some things, but if anyone has any more suggestions, I'll try anything until something happens! XD;;

    3. WHOOOOOO!!!

I'm jumping for joy! I got Megan's lower arm off with the help of my boyfriend's strong arm and some car tools....XD That S hook was lodged deep in there, but we got it out!

So now, even if DollHeart can't replace her hand, I can do like EksDee said and mold it back in! :) I do wish they'd refund her faceup, though, or at least part of it. It works for now, but it's still not the one I paid for and I do think I eventually want it redone.... :(

But right now, I'm just relieved we got her arm off and I won't have to unstring her whole body! XD

And now that its off she wants me to replace it with a lightsaber

Thanks everyone! As soon as she's all better, count on seeing more of her in the gallery! ;)

    4. ? you paid for a different face up? if they got the faceup wrong and this broken hand I think you would be well within your rights to return her.

    5. Ack! I thought that looked like a Morimoth hand! My Morimoth, Emmy, is upset for your girl and sends her hugs. And I agree, with all the problems you've mentioned, the place you bought her should do something about your girl.

    6. Yup, TreeLore, that's exactly what happened! But I don't really wanna return her now! I've really bonded with her. And I know it's a lot to go through, but it's just made me love her even more! :) I mean, I want what I paid for, but I know that if she needs any changes later, they can be done! ^^ I just hope DH makes good and sends her a new hand!

And Opal, that's awesome! You have Mori Moth too, and you're only two hours away from me! You should post lots of pictures of her! :o I don't think I've ever seen yours before! :)

Megan waves at Emmy with her handless arm and says hi! XD

    7. *pokepoke* if you're only 2 hours away, come to a meetup! If I know you're coming, I'd be sure to bring Emmy so you could see her. :)
There are pictures of her around, just not taken by me. I think I'm her 4th mommy. I bought her in the marketplace at the end of Aug last year. For the longest time, if you searched for pics of Morimoth, hers were the only pictures to show up. She's very happy to hear that more of her sisters and Lady Bee cousins are showing up on the board. :)

    8. I've always wanted to come! XD My friend who's doing Lucas's faceup lives near Atlanta as well! XD But I'm so BAD at social situations! <33

And guess what, everyone! DH is the sweetest! They said they'd send her a new hand and a present as compensation for postage! I think I'm willing to let the faceup thing go, as long as her hand is ok! ^^

But thanks guys for helping me out, making me feel better, and letting me know how to take her hand off! XD <333

    9. Congrats Madame Bunni. I'm so happy to hear that all is going to be fine at last.

Pimi sends all her love to Megan from the other part of the world and wishes her a very happy life with you. ^__*

    10. AWWW!!! Purple, that's the cutest thing EVER!!! :D Megan and I are really deeply touched! :) She sends Pimi a big hug!!!! (or as big a hug as she can give with one arm! XD) <33333333333333333333333333

    11. One other question - did the arms seem overly tightly strung when you first moved the arms and when you pulled the elastic to the wrist? I am just wondering if the pressure on the hands will be very high when she is restrung. If it seems overly tight (beyond the pull needed for the arms to function well), then you may want to restring the arms. But a way to juryrig this until you have more of the right elastic would be to tie a small loop of thinner but strong elastic through the end of the existing elastic loop and attach the new hand to that when you get it.

    12. Thanks for that tip, Carolyn. She was strung VERY tightly, actually. I mean we were in tears trying to pull it out. XD So I think I may do that. :aheartbea

    13. ah, i'm sorry that had to happen to your doll! i had a similar accident too, got a dollmore stringing tool and yanked the sucker out of there, hope you can fix your girl back soon! :)
