1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Horses for larger dolls

Sep 12, 2006

    1. There has to be some kind of injection blown plastic mold process that these companies use to make these molded horses like the My Twinn ones. If one of us had a sculpt that was good enough in the right size, and we could get an order of fifty produced by some Chinese plastics manufacturer.... Ah dreams.

    2. Now that would be cool!

    3. YES YES YES. Ah, if only...

    4. ...So I think I own all of the available Battat models now...curse you eBay! XD Well, I wanted a mount for each of my characters, so I ended up waiting to customize the horses until I got one for each of my dolls to make sure all the personalities had horsinalities to be matched with.

...I'm gonna need a lot of paint. :sweat

    5. Alright...gonna try to revive this thread again...I'm SO desperate to find a My Twinn horse! Does anyone know of where to find one, other than on the site? I was not impressed with the communication there. I reaaaaaally want the Prancer model, but at this point I'm looking to get the QH model as well, to be a draft-type for one of my knights. If anyone has any info, please PM. :)

On a happier note, got a couple of my Battats painted, will try to post pictures when I get something to make new manes and tails for them. ;)

    6. ooh a thread for horses for the dolls wow i didnt relise there was one!

ive recently (well over the last couple of months) bought 3 battat horses and i love them! they need re-painting but once completed they are going to be just what i wanted them to be, a large pony type for my sd lol

i really love the photos earlier in the thread and pamsd your horse is amazing! im so pleased there is a thread like this!

    7. Well, I just purchased a Soom Epidos centaur body.

And as a real horse-lover, I already have very bad thoughts...of course I will put my rolling head onto this magnificent Super Gem boy.

But...could it be possible to exchange the human part by a horse neck and head?

Difficult, especially as my beloved Aves Apoxies most likely won't work due to weight...

Anyways, I guess he won't be more than a pony anyways to my big Iple folks. But ponies are also really nice to have around...hmmm.

    8. I love my dolls to have horses but I do not think that there is a horse yet that would fit the EID boys. I do own a Battat horse but it's for the smaller folks. Hopefully someone will make one.

      Bren =0)

    9. Ipledreamer: I bet you could make a really awesome jointed horse with that centaur body~! If Aves won't work for a clay epoxie give Magic sculpt a try--it's nice a light, but strong and fairly dense. :)

And yeah, it probably won't be very tall by horse standards, since the centaur body starts at a human doll's waist, it would definitely be pony sized in the end. But still, I can't wait to see what you do with it! :)

    10. I don't know if anyone's mentioned it yet, but My Generation made a posable horse. (I think it might be a Quarter horse?) that sells for around $30-40. I've seen a few of them on eBay in particular, but I think Target's website has them as well.

    11. I know you rather not buy through the Internet, but Secret Loft Designs has the lovely Nahar, 27" in height and is meant for 1/3 dolls. Other doll would also work. It can't pose but has steel-reinforced legs. You can have sculpted on mane or tail OR fur parts instead.

    12. Just for reference I'll post a pair of pictures on my Domuya Nightmare (I saw that they where mentioned earlier in the thread, but no pictures posted (I seems to have missed it earlier))

Rook (that's his name) and Bel, who is a Domuya Flexi perennial (around 62cm).

Out of armour and with mane...

Even though they never got to produce the special stand for advance poses, he actually pose pretty well, although it takes a bit of experimentation...

The only thing I regret is that I didn't order two of them. I do wish somebody would restart Domuya again, I liked their dolls and all other things they did

    13. Ooooooh my goodness Nightmare is gorgeous! How is his posing? He has a very stylized "anime" sort of look to him but yet seems very realistic to me somehow. I'm still a little *eh* about some of the proportions though, he seems a bit on the thin side for me. A beautiful creation though!

I've decided my next mod project will have to be cutting apart another one of my Battat models, and making it completely articulated. And taller. I desperately want a horse for each of my SDs, but a couple of them require draftier types, and the only bigger, proportionally accurate models I can find are the My Twinn, and they are so rare, I've pretty much given up hope of ever owning one of the Prancers. *sigh*

      So, I'll make my own~ Of course the mods won't let me make a thread here about it, but it could be one cool "companion" animal when it's done. Ah, possibilities.... I'll keep you all informed of progress here, I guess. XD;;

    14. OldMagician- That is too cool!! It really does make me wish they would make more of those gorgeous horses! That armor is amazing too!! :D

    15. YOU GUYS YOU GUYS YOU GUYS I FOUND A PRANCER :D :D :D

He'll be home within the next week and then I will have pictuuuures :D I am so ecstatic right now it isn't even funny :D FINALLY A HORSE FOR MY BOYS TO RIDE AND NOT LOOK LIKE THEY'RE ON PONIES :D

    16. that is insane where in the world did you find it?

Love the Domuya horse....soo wish I could find me one of those..wish someone would make another bjd horse that would be too cool.

    17. I know Buff has one for sale on the MP in the accessories section. I'd be tempted to get it myself if I had the monies. >.<

    18. Kittyblue: Through word of mouth online :) It was MEANT TO BE

Seconding all that...I would love for there to be more "companion animal" bjds out there, not only horses, but other animals as well! And I wish they weren't so durned expensive @_@

    19. lol..yep that is how I ended up with 2 Battat horses, someone local just gave him to me because she is alwasy looking at my doll photos and she wanted me to have it because she knew I'd do something cool with it..unfortunetly I haven't had a chance to yet.
No doubt...soo would love to have some other animals. I think it was Ringdoll that had a Great Dane, I don't think I was in the hobby at the time, but wow was he gorgeous.
And speaking of horses now that I think about it...maybe I'll take some time this weekend to strip one of mine and find one of my friends that knows how to airbrush..bwahaha.
