1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Horses for larger dolls

Sep 12, 2006

    1. You can find some nice plush DPL Leeds horses that are large enough if you are determined (or lucky)
I don't have EID boys but I do have a soom lupin on an Idelian 71cm body and I believe they are a similar size. There is a 68cm/ 27" Leeds horse that works perfectly for this size, and the horses also all have a very strong internal metal armature, so they can hold up the heaviest chunky boys.

I currently have five or six different sizes of DPL Leeds horses.
      They are;

31cm / 12" tall - Great size for a large pony/small horse for 16" fashion dolls or chicline, or large horse for 12" dolls
43cm / 17" tall - Perfect size for MSD dolls
56cm / 22" tall - these vary in size a couple of centimetres depending on the construction but are a perfect size for 60cm dolls
68cm / 27" tall - Great as a large horse for 60cm SD dolls or a perfect size for 70cm tall dolls
84cm / 33" tall - Size is of a large horse for 70cm dolls, like a large warhorse, would also suit an 80cm doll like a Mecha Angel very well (but I haven't taken any pictures of that yet )

They are all beautifully made, and the larger ones are particularly lovely.
You can see the comparison pictures I did with them on page 16 & 17 of this thread.

    2. raewhitewolf, thanks for the comparissons in page 16 and 17. I forgot about those it's been so long.

I would love to get the Nahar, but haven't been able to afford it, plus the shipping to Canada is a bit as well.

Can anyone tell me how tall is the My Twin horse, please?

    3. I don't have exact measurement but it's in scale for 58-60cm dolls. 63-65 look a little bit big on it, like it's a small horse breed.

    4. At the tallest point the My Twinn Horse is 24.5 inches. Here is Zera standing flat footed beside him, she is 62cm.

    5. My Twinn horse is a little too small for my E.I.D girl (as you probably saw a few posts back) the E.I.D guy is super huge, much larger than the girl. Mytwinn will be way too small for them.

There was me thinking Nahar might work, good to know.

DPL? do you have a link? I'm interested in learning more as I'd love to get one.

Congrats on your one. SID looks like a great height for mytwinn.

I'm kind of grateful that I left mine abroad. Remembering how big it was I have absolutely nowhere to put it! I would have had to strap it to the ceiling!

    6. Thank you. Yes, the horse takes up a lot of room in my doll shelf unit.

    7. Laurie I love your doll shelf(s)!! Great organization! Once I get my house I want something similar.....horses and dolls currently cover all surfaces of my room lol. I love your rocking horse also, where did you get him? He looks like a good size for MSD :)

    8. Wow! These horses are all so gorgeous!

      How's this project going along?

So the My Twinn Horse is a brand of horses or what?

    9. Its a doll brand, but not bjd. Just google My Twinn and the site should come up.

    10. Hi! In the middle of this topic was written about horses Battat / Our Generations. I do not quite understand this is one firm or two, but it does not matter. They have wonderful horses 20 Inch (50 cm). Perfect for bjd 40 cm and can go up to 60 cm because the horse is really big.
They have a different horses, articulated and not articulated.
It it seemed to me that articulated horse more... interesting. Now Tank lives in our house :) I think this is perfect size and complection (Boy 40sm, horse 50 sm)

    11. Battat is a toy company that makes horses for Our Generation and a few other companies in the past too.

Their horses are only in scale for 1/4 dolls, not SDs and are not very anatomically horse shaped, but they're better than not having a horse, and they can be made to look good. A little repainting or the right camera angles can help.

I have one of the jointed ones myself, and the rear legs are jointed to move the wrong way! Seriously- who sculpts a horse and then adds joints without at least looking at a picture to see how real horses' legs bend?? I was very saddened by this, but I'm modifying him so he at least looks a little less deformed about the legs.

    12. Rosslyn

Oh yes! I think that sculptor have never seen real horses moving)) Horse look like horse but this strange joints... they can't move in a right way 0_0
but I'm modifying him so he at least looks a little less deformed about the legs. Could you tell/show me how to do this? Legs of my horse can't "show" even poses from the gifs in the post below >_< That's awful!
For interested people - Here are placed some gifs that with horse joints moving (in the end) http://www.toyboxphilosopher.com/2014/12/the-our-generation-poseable-morgan.html

    13. I will be bringing my MyTwinn horse to DollNorth, anyone is welcome to try their dolls out on him ^-^

    14. hahah it's true

Yep that's also true, they are better suited for 1/4
I use it for my 1/3 because there is no substitution apart from maybe a really jointed horse I saw but I haven't checked if that one was 1:3 scaled. I hope to modify mine someday. It will be awesome if it succeeds :D

    15. Here is Johnny's Cash. He is my 60cm BBB Liam Jinn's horse.

    16. I have this same white horsie lol but with stains and... I wanted to make an armored unicorn of it and now I see you have the unicorn haha. Oh well
Did you craft it in there?

(I don't get it though, the horse is too small for an American Girl doll. If they'd make it bigger and fit for her, it would fit my 1:3 better aarghhh)

    17. Can someone tell me what horse that is? What company makes them? Where can I get one?

    19. Thank you. The rocking horse came from Tractor Supply, it was part of their holiday décor.

    20. A friend of mine is looking for a large horse for her BJD and while MyTwinn might be a good size, i was also thinking about the beautiful Nahar.
I probably missed information but Secret Loft Designs's website doesn't exist anymore and all i can find is a mini Nahar http://www.rosehorse.com/mininahar.php Saw they presented Nahar as well but is he "legit" ?
Otherwise, still no tall horse for our SD size and taller BJD ?
