1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

Horses for larger dolls

Sep 12, 2006

    1. That is a "legit" sculpt, in the sense that it's original, but it's not in any way related to the Nahar from Secret Lofts. Completely different pose, and even the large one looks like it would be much too small for a 1/3 scale BJD. It just happens to have the same name.

    2. Oh. Okay.
      Thank you Kiyakotari. :)
      Well then back to research.

    3. I'm sad to hear that Secret Loft Designs isn't around anymore, I was seriously jonesing for a Nahar for my dolls, but couldn't afford it when they were in production. :pout:

    4. So it seems there's still no really good SD sized horse options unless you can find some of the more realistic plush ones near you.

Since the picture links on my previous post with doll and horse size comparisons for the plush leeds horses are broken, here is a more updated comparison.

Sorry I made a bit of a mistake in the picture the grey dapple horse should say 58cm, not 68cm.

When I get a chance I'll try and take a picture of a mecha angel or Idelian with the bigger horses to add to the comparisons :)

    7. That's an amazing collection of horses! Wonderful seeing all the size comparisons.

I found a horse some years ago being sold for Christmas in a chain drug store... it was a bit large for my 60cm dolls, but probably would work for larger dolls.

I had two of them but gave one away... not sure where the other one got to, I think it's in a storage unit. But it was $29, as you can see from the tags, which wasn't a bad deal! I haven't seen anything like it since, though.

    8. I haven't posted a photo of my SLD horse before, but here he is. I finally got him painted and
am pleased with how his hooves look in particular. I did body & leg mods using apoxie sculpt.

This is my horse 'Brandy' with Feeple65 Siean (62cm in heels) standing next to him.
I think 62cm is a little tall for him, she looks better riding him. The horse looks great
      with the 58-60cm dolls.

I am also sorry to see that Shulamite's SLD website has disappeared.
If someone were interested, they might try contacting her directly.

    9. I'd like to find a horse that looks natural, like a real horse not a toy. I found a horse to fit MSD's from fleamarket but its appearence is not good.

    10. So far the only *realistic* horse for SDs I have seen is the Secret Loft Nahar, which is no longer being produced. We all kind of lurk this thread hoping one of us will share something someone else is looking for, be it plush or realistic.

    11. After reading over this thread, I felt inspired to see what else I could find out there...
      And I found this.

Make sure you go to the shop tab and select the height of the horse you need, they carry 20", 26", 30", and 36".
For reference, 20" is about 50cm, 26: is about 66cm, 30" is about 76cm, and 36" is about 90cm! I know a lot of people were wanting horses large enough for the BIG dolls out there, and that the DPL Leeds plush horses are really hard to come by! I know not everyone wants a plush horse, but I think these have a similar level of detail to the DPL Leeds horses, which I totally fell in love with. And the shipping is free for those of you in the UK! They do ship overseas but I'm not sure of the shipping costs. I think they're pretty reasonably priced!

    12. Those are beautiful Zyxyz!

Thank you for sharing the link.

    13. I just want to mention that the Nahars were never discontinued and are still being produced for anyone interested. Contact me for info

    14. Truly ?
That is excellent news, thank you ! :D

    15. I will contact the resin-casters to see how long it will take for a fresh
model to be cast. Usually it takes a month lead time from order till shipped, depending on their work-load.
Depending on where you live determines shipping cost, the last one to NY was about $125.
Its great to see there is still interest in The Big Guy :)

    16. Thank you Shulamite eventhough there's no hurry on my side. <3

Eventhough i'll need quite a time to save money for Nahar, it's good to know there's still a chance to buy him.
And as i want him with real mane and tail AND that i live in France, i'll need to save quite a lot. XD
