How Big is Too Big?

Apr 8, 2008

    1. For me it would really be the weight over the height (as I am 6 foot tall anyway). I'm not the strongest person around and carrying a heavier (I own a SD delf) would just tire me out way to quickly and I couldn't enjoy taking it places. Oh sure I do squeal when I see a 80cm doll but I know it would be impractacle and in the long run probably harder to bond with then a smaller doll. That's just me though.

    2. It's just that having taller dolls are a new thing so there is consideration of restringing, getting clothes, not standing as he/she/it should etc. If all those situations were in the clear, I would probably have a meter long doll as my model. However, it seems like right now the 60cm is the max where everything absolutely okay...and think about it...60cm is practically 2 feet so I would be fine with him.

    3. Oh I love big dolls. I have love for all sizes though. I'm planning on having a wide variety of heights. I have a Puki right now and my tallest is 63cm. I have MSDs and SDs. I will have a BC and a few Cherishdolls some day. And a 72cm. I think my only issue right now is that I'm kind of anti-1/2 scale dolls. I think 90cm is just a bit too tall for a BJD.

Otherwise I love big dolls. They're fun to cuddle ^^

    4. I want an 80cm doll so bad! But I know it's probably going to be just too big for me. It's so cool to see and hold my friend's Soom Sabik though. I'm waffling about it. I've decided that if Soom ever continues their Mecha Angel line with new sculpts that are appealing to me I'll buy it. I can always sell it if I really can't live with it.

    5. Very true. I love them but they don't fit the form I'm thinking.

    6. Since I starter with a Mini Gem, I thought MSD sise was huge xD But I think now think that any doll more than MSD size are too tall for me ^^

    7. hi

i noticed a doll about 2 and half feet! is that too big?

      thanks

    8. In our house we have a range between 20cm and 70cm- all of my dolls are big though 55cm+ for some reason I just like the weight of them in my hands! but anything bigger than 75cm might be too much for me to handle Oo

    9. This quantum is quite close to the average height of a doll that we can find in a lot of places but I believe that people prefer the smaller ones (below 75cm)

    10. I've always liked SD...the 60 cm ones. the 80 look so big...and Azure is heavy as it is...lmao

    11. I like smaller dolls... MSD are the top of my height range. I mostly have tinies though ^__^

    12. Never big enough ;)

Despite the bigger ones are a PAIN for your back for the meets, I like them most <3

    13. I like the SD size, at the mo ment I have 2 dolls of 70 cm and I want to have 4 xDD, but I never will buy a doll more big than 70 cm...

    14. I don't know yet where my limit is. I love large dolls. So at least anything beneath 55cm is a limit, but for everythig above, I don't know. I have a few 60cm dolls, 1 feeple girl (67 cm) and my incoming dolls are also 65, 67 and 70 cm. And I want 2 mecha angel girls in the future.

If they'd release nice sculps above 80cm, I don't know if they would be too big or not. I know that there are 90cm boys out there. If they make a 90cm girl I might be tempted to buy...

    15. My first doll was a near 70cm girl (Soom Beryl), and I love her. Sure, she makes my arms ache after hauling her around, but I adore her. Something about her weight is comforting.

I got a chance to huggle on a Mecha Angel over the weekend (so handsome, Carousel...), and after that, I realized that I could have one of that size and love them as much as my Beryl. So, I suppose it really does come down to who I love, regardless of size.

    16. I have a 72cm big guy and a 61cm big guy....and I'm sure everything near the 80cm is way too big ^^'

    17. I think that 70cm+ would be way too big. I can see from myself, that 65 is already too big. Especially if it's heavy (and usually is..), and hard to pose. My arms get numb :(
      40-60cm is perfect size ;)

    18. I like snuggling SDs, but I think around 70cm is my limit. I'm only 5 foot tall and pretty scrawny - one of those 90cm AODs would just be too much for my useless weak arms :sweat

    19. I would have to handle the larger dolls before I could say for sure. I've been around some 70cm dolls, and I think I would be fine with that. 80cm would probably be okay too. As for the 90cm, I think they're really cool, but I don't know if I'd ever be able to handle a doll that large. I'm not exactly tall :sweat In general I like all sizes ^.^

    20. They do make a sort of BJD that is human sized. their pretty neat!
