How Did You Decide Size?

Apr 9, 2007

    1. I purchased a Narae and love this size, both for handling, display space and the fact that some of the 16" doll fashion doll clothing can be used for her.

    2. In the begining I chose mini sized because I fell in love with DOD U. He was 100% perfect for what I wanted and I knew no one else would do. I didn't care what size he was I just knew he was 'the one' for me. Sadly I had to sell him due to bad financial problems but I plan on bringing him home again as soon as possible.

Now I have both SD and mini size dolls and I honestly love both sizes.

    3. I've just ordered an MSD one.. though i do hope to get a couple SD ones when i can afford them.. but since this is my first dollfie.. MSD seemed more of an affordable introduction to the finacial chaos they seem to bring with them XD

    4. I want an SD cause the first doll I ever got to really meet and hold was a DZ wing. Which is a 70cm.. I loved his size. It might be because Im taller (5'10-11"). I have yet to actually get to see an MSD.. but in the future I plan to own dolls of many sizes. <3

    5. Well, I don't actually own a doll yet:|, but I don't see myself with anything but MSD sized dolls in the near future. Now, of course, the only reason for this is because I don't have enough room. Or so say my roomates. I can't imagine the scene that would ensue if a few two foot dolls appeared in our room one day.*_* Someday, though, I'd love to get at least one SD. *sigh* Some day.:)

    6. I was unsure of size. But the first dolls I fell in love with are tinys. Right now I'm looking between Iplehouse Freezia which is SD size and Lati Blue Yern which is MSD size. I'm thinking that the MSD size will fit in my house better since I don't have much room. But I haven't decided yet.

    7. For me smaller is better, is cuter, is cheaper. But I think I might be more into the msds rather than the sds or tinies though I do want at least one SD.

    8. I have big dolls and little dolls. I really didn't decide on the size, I was more attracted to the face sculpts than anything.

My first doll was an SD size--she's a D.I.M. Belita. I don't think she's too big.

The second largest doll is my Volks Yukinojo, the SD16 boy. He's heavy but not to the point where my arm goes numb or I lose my breath just carrying him around. The resin is a very nice weight--gives me a sense of the high quality-ness of it.

My third larger doll is my DS SA Husky, he's so tall and lean. Taller than my SD16. I'm only 5'1" but it's not awkward hauling him around. I don't know, but it makes me feel like I'm carrying a small child when I carry my big dolls.

For my tiniest doll, is a YoSD--so cute and just shorter than my Momoko and as tall as my Pullip dolls. After I got her, I thought to myself that I should get an MSD size doll (so I'm getting a Unoa Lusis) just to make my collection have variety 'cuz I like it that way. :D

    9. Well the first doll I saw was a MSD sized on then within a few minutes I saw and SD one (heavy old Hound) Anyway I liked the MSD sized one better. Easy to carry, wasnt to heavy and Well yeah..
I only have one boy so far and I really think most of my dolls are going to MSD in the futher when I can spare the money (besides MAYBE getting a DZ Floy) And a few pets

    10. I'm not really all that concerned about size. For me, it's all about the facial structure on a doll. She could be the tiniest thing in the world, but if she had the cutest face, I'd go for her.

    11. Size wasn't my first concern, it was the mold of the face. I wanted a doll that didn't look quite as young as most dolls tend to look. So DZ's Yuu stood out to me. And then I found out he was 70cm and almost balked -- he'd be gigantic! I waffled for a bit between Yuu and DoD's Ducan.

In the end, height didn't matter. I fell in love with Yuu's face and it was all over and I couldn't love him more. :)

    12. Ahh...I want a Yuu sooooo bad. even though I'm a sucker for girls, I would love to have a Yuu cause he's so hot.

    13. The sd dolls are for me!!! They, really are not that big when sitting down at all..... But they do get kinda heavy after a while. I would suggest going to a doll meet near you, and see if you can hold one of theres

    14. I don't own a doll, nor have I developed a preference for a certain size.

The doll I have fallen in love with is 70cm though. D:
Dream of Doll's DOI - Luke. :D He's so gorgeous.

    15. LOL, my reason for deciding on the size of my girl (msd size) was because she wouldn't be as heavy as a SD XD;;; I've always had a thing about getting things that are smaller in size so that I would be able to hold onto longer... ^^;

    16. I either like them really small or big so I go for tinies and large :)

    17. So far, I've been in love with the tinies. Maybe it's because I can travel with them a little easier than with my larger dolls. Then again, maybe I just haven't found a larger bjd to love yet.

    18. I love things that are either really small, or really big. A big doll (60cm) just seemed really neat to me. Plus I had a very specific body type in mind and the one I got had it, and happened to be 60cm. I am thinking of maybe getting a smaller BJD eventually though.

    19. I don't have a lot of space so I went for MSDs- and I found that I really like them. n_n SDs would be a bit too big for my tastes, I think. Plus my current collection is MSD so it'd be like... a giant. But I may get one someday.

    20. For me, the size is not that much important. I don't currently own a doll, but the dolls I had a crush on are SD.
The only thing is how to carry a big doll with you ?? I'm sure when I will have one, I would be happy to have it all the time with me, even when I will travel. How can I carry the doll without problem?? That's my only concern :huh?:
