How Did You Decide Size?

Apr 9, 2007

    1. the first doll I ever got was an SD size; an El. I had him for a while but eventually found that he took up so much space that I had to keep him in his box all the time. Eventually I sold him and now have an Alice Cherry Blossom, a tiny, and a pukipuki cupid on the way, even tinier!
I think that for me, dollhouse-sized tinies are the way to go! They take up little space and I already have a fully furnished fancy expensive dollhouse anyway... plus I am in LOVE with pukipukis. LOVE!

    2. At the beginning of my doll collecting, I thought BJDs were creepy because they were so lifelike, so I went into the more toylike off-topic dolls. Many of those collectors were also getting into Lati, so I started seeing their beauty after a time. When I finally decided to go into BJDs, I went with the Lati Green (YO-SD) size because they were comparable to the height of my already-owned dolls.. a size I was comfortable with. From there, I tried MSD but realized that was a bit too large (also making me realize that SDs and above would be out of the question if MSDs were too large!). I most recently decided I'd give Pukifees a try and am really enjoying that size. So I guess for me, it started off as a choice I made based on other things of the same size I knew I was comfortable with, then bled over into "trial and error".

    3. I go for whatever suits the doll's 'personality' and the age. I go for the mature MSD bodies, and the size is perfect since it's not to big, not too small~

    4. honestly... i didnt really pay attention to the size of the doll ^__^;; i just saw angell studios Luxifa and fell in love. it wasnt til after that i noticed how much he was and how big he was ><;;; i just ordered a msd sized doll so we'll see how that goes but for him i also just chose him becaue his sculpt spoke to me and i just fell in love with him and had to have him! lol also he was perfect for the age i was thinking of making my second doll anyway.

    5. I like the SD dolls better because they generally have more mature features. The MSDs are cute, too though!

    6. Size is matter for me :sweat. I want Soom Sabik or Soom Rex, but they are too tall for me (I'm 155cm while they are 80cm). If i did buy them, they would stay at home forever which is no fun... so i don't think i would ever buy them (unless Soom made SD or MSD version of Sabik or Rex ;) ).
The tallest bjd i have is 62.5cm one, and now i'm into MSDs and tinies :D

    7. At first I wanted a tiny because they're so cute and fun to just hold... But then I thought around my favorite doll of my friend's and I wanted our dolls to be friends. And I want to learn to sew, so I figured a tiny would be too small to work with.... And I don't like the larger-sized dolls. So I settled for MSD :)

    8. I've always facied the tall dolls (60+). Not just for their lovely height, but also because they usually look older, more mature and very realistic.

I don't think I'd want a MSD. They're just too small and most of them have got that baby-ish look. I do find them very cute, though <3

    9. I got MSDs because they were less expensive and I thought that their clothes and shoes would also be less expensive. But then I wanted a puki and then an SD and now a Yo-SD, so I've ended up with pretty much all sizes. I like SD and MSD best, and puki the least because I can't make anything that small for them.

    10. Age is my dicatation. Nika is only 13, so he's an MSD. His not-father (adopted) Alistair will be an SD, and the little 6 year olds will be Tinys. ^_^

    11. I decided on an MSD sized doll for my first doll for a number of reasons: cost, I liked the mould and as soon as I saw her I had a character spring up for her. And I plan to get both tinies and SD sized dolls in the future, but I wanted to start with an MSD size because in my mind they are a good middling point.

Not super big, but larger then other Western dolls, affordable so I didn't have to save forever and because it was my first doll, if I had a weirdo change of heart and couldn't connect with the doll, I could resell her without paying through the nose for shipping. I was being practical!

And then I saw her and totally fell in love so all that went out the door, lol.

    12. The first doll I ever saw was MSD sized and I was captured. SD is just too large. I have a couple of tinies but I always find myself most drawn to the MSD. They're big enough to keep up with but small enough to be portable.

    13. Hm, I don't have a doll, but when I do save enough money for one(probably by the middle or end of this year), I think I'll go with an SD. I think I'd be able to handle the weight. :D

    14. When i first was looking, I always thought the 60cm+ dolls were just way too big. So i went with MSD, that and i also just wasnt sure if i would even enjoy owning a BJD. (i go through hobbies like crazy, i'd done them all at one time or another) so i didnt wanna spend a whole lote of money, of course a tiny would prolly been cheaper (some are anyways). But i figured it woulda been too ard to make anyhitng for them and woulda been a instant turn off lol. So ya. i got a msd. I ordered 2 more however i do want atleast one large doll, now seeing and working with a MSD i am just plain curious lol :3

    15. To me it was really easy - I like everything small but not too tiny (so that it wouldn't get lost one day XD). So I chose between puki-puki, pukifee and littlefee...... Pukifee won! ^^

    16. This is a hard one for me. I have found myself wanting all sizes. ug...

    17. Mostly by price and by my show-offyness. I didn't want something so big that it wold be expensive or hard to carry around, and I didn't want anything too small (that might be confused confused with a barbie/bratz/what have you) So I dicided on MSDs! Nice size and nice to my wallet <333

    18. I bought a 27cm first, then an msd sized then there was a 60cm going for a song on ebay so I bought her and now I have ordered a pukipuki! I like dolls of any size!

    19. i didnt really decide on size with my frist doll thats a MSD , i just loved the look of her and had to get her

    20. I decided to go straight for an SD with my first doll. I thought originally that MSDs might be a bit too small and figured if I was going to get one to see if I'd like it, might as well get a large one xD.
