How Did You Decide Size?

Apr 9, 2007

    1. My chose in the size of doll that I wanted to get was due to the fact that I only saw MSD size dolls and when I did see other size doll they where extremely big (it came past my knees) and looked like I couldn't play and carry it everywhere I went for a long period of time. MSD doll is just right (they can hitch a ride in my purse).

    2. I like large dolls, they seem more realistic to me. (Which is why I've ordered a 68cm doll, heheh. :))

    3. Whne I first started with bjds, I always accociated them with the larger ones, 60cm+; there was something I liked about that size; I knew I wanted one that had some weight and could be held easily.
      So when I started actualy looking to get one I found I was looking at 60cm. Handling some of that size and some smaller ones as well at a meetup confirmed I wanted one of that size.

      Getting my 69cm boy definalty confirmed it to me that the large ones are what I want to stay with.

    4. Size wasn't something I really looked at when choosing the doll I wanted..When i decided on the doll that I did want, I grabbed my tape measure, pulled it out the length stated on the site and just about spazzed at the size that came out.
      Then was really excited cause, hey, who doesn't want a doll that comes above their knees? xD
      However, I think that the super tiny ones are really cute but since I have a hard time keeping up with small things sometimes, I would hate to lose it or, god forbid, my cat try to eat it ._.;

    5. For me, it just seemed right. I didnt really pick the size, it picked me. Although I will say I love all doll sizes.

    6. Personally, I prefer SD over MSD but I decided to get a MSD first to start my hobby because I wasn't sure if I can handle bigger dolls (Since I'm new and I'm afraid of breaking them lol).

      But again, I won't hold back myself on getting a 70cm or MSD if the sculpts happen to be something I like. In a nut shell, dolls in all sizes is a go to me.

    7. I went with the SD size for my first one, but I think I might want a MSD next time~
      Just to have a little bit of variety :3
      I really like the size of the SD, it makes a statement when people come visit lol

    8. well, all my dolls are under 26cm
      cause I have no space for big doll
      but I recently order my 1st MSD size girl
      so who knows who will coming next time!lol

    9. My dolls are all based on characters, so their dolly size is based on their full size. My toddler is YoSD, my kids are MSDs, my teenagers and adults vary between 60 and 65 centimeters.

    10. I must love the mold first, before I decide on the rest. Never decide the size until I have floating head. Since my second boy is in a relationship with my friend's daughter + she told me her daughter is pretty tall, then I decided to buy 70cm body for him. Though I must re-think about giving my first boy a same size body, since his lover isn't really tall... ^^;

    11. If I get a doll it would be a factor of the face mold (I like more mature faces), since more the mature faces tend to be in the larger doll range, I don't mind it terribly too much since I prefer having a lot of details in outfits and the like. I may delve into a smaller size if I really like the facial mold but I find that perhaps a larger doll seems more comfortable to me even though they're a lot more expensive.

    12. SDs just have never appealed to me..they're too mature looking for me. i ADORE MSDs though <3 so much. that's the size i'm sticking to!

    13. The best way to decide on what size is right for you is the go to a meet and ask to hold different sizes to see what you're comfortable with. Even if you like a doll the size may be something you find you don't like, so size is one of my top deciding factors. I don't even look at dolls if they aren't in a size I'd buy.

    14. I found with vinyl that I preferred larger dolls so I bought those at first. Then after going to meet-ups, I found myself madly in love with Volks Papi and Littlefee Ante. I ended up buying both. Then I started looking around for an MSD to bridge the rather extreme gap between sizes. A customhouse shopping spree later and I've decided I like all different sizes. Tastes change as you stay in this hobby so don't close off your options would be my suggestion.

    15. I was first attracted to the (relative) realism & (again, relative) 'mature' looks of the 60 cm -range dolls, so those have been the ones I've focused most of my attention on, in terms of internet stalking. Since Iplehouse released their super sexy EID's, those have been very much on my mind.

    16. I like tiny dolls because they are so adorable~ I like MSDs because they are so cute and sweet~ and I like large dolls, especially male ones, coz they are so mature and bishie! I don't have any specific preferences, because they all appeal to my various likes and tastes (e.g. I like cute little boys but i also adore the hunky mature ones!) ~ I hope to collect different sizes for my doll family~ but then again, it have to depends on the face molds.^^

    17. For me my comfort zone seems to be around 60+cm. I would LOVE to get something smaller but the face sculpts are a bit to immature for my liking. On the other hand, having a 64-70cm doll kind of frightens me a tiny bit. That seems so BIG to me... but I like the mature look. :(

    18. I've chosen tinies because that's the theme I'm looking for: I want a set of toddlers for my storylines! Bigger dolls would also, unfortunately, not fit in with my apartment and kittens.

    19. Trial and error. That's how I make my way through this hobby.
      I started with a MSD, which was a complete hit. It took me two puki's to realise they were toooooo small for me, one SD to find out it was too big for me, and a Yo-Sd and a 52cm doll to find out those were the perfect sizes next to msd.

    20. well for me 60cm is just right for photos poses and such to me for the scall i think of when i get the amount i need for my doll.
      i kinda have a idea what the photos will look like and i can say any biger is just too big for me. not that there are not bad dolls or anything but its just for me i can't go any biger then 60cm and i don't really like any of the smaller ones too much to own not sure why.
      i guess its that they just don't fit with what i want for my doll. like before not bad dolls at that size they are just not for me.
      so in the end 60cm is just right.
