1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How did you first find out about BJDs?

Apr 25, 2011

    1. Hm, I think it was two...or three years ago, I had just started talking to this girl at Gaiaonline and sometime, she started talking about BJD to me on msn. I remember I looked around and found DOD's Shall and I was so in love with her *_* Now...I don't think I ever considered at the time to buy a doll and I just kept being an admirer, found people on DA who posted photos of theirs and all.
Just a few months ago, said girl from Gaiaonline finds me again on the same site (we had kind of stopped talking for a while?) and we kind of started talking again, she kind of turned into one of my best friends and one day...she started squeeling all over msn, telling me how excited she was that she had just ordered her first BJD. So, usual me, got jealous and wanted one also. She wasn't much help either, telling me to 'Yes, do buy one!' instead of 'No! Think of the money!'...and well uvu
Long story short, she was the one who first introduced me to BJD, DOD was the company that got me obsessed, she is the reason I own BJD.

    2. BJD pictures on dA. <3

    3. I knew BJD because my friends have, and they will always shooting for their dolls and share the photos to us..Then I felt interested in BJD, so I started to find the doll that makes me wanna buy it.

    4. Back in 2002 or so, I was looking for wigs for a 1/6 Obitsu on EBAY and started seeing one or two auctions for things for Super Dollfies... No actual dolls for sale, mind you--they were only available in kits from Japan via special services. SO... although I was intrigued, I was very busy and didn't have time for a hobby where you had to do and make everything and the parts were so hard to get...

In 2004, also on ebay, I started seeing customizers re-selling dolls and heads. And then I saw that there were some online sites selling bjds--although they were all in Japanese or Korean. DoA had just moved to the forums, so I had that for reference.

So, it was EBAY where I first saw bjds, in 2002 or so...
