It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How did you first get into Dolls?

Sep 7, 2009

    1. I first saw BJDs on DeviantArt a while ago, and while I had some mild interest I didn't really look into them until more recently when I came upon SyrinxFox's gallery there. From then I started actively looking for pictures of them and looking at the different companies and trying to learn more, and here I am :)

    2. Well I first got into Dal's (and then Pullips and Taeyangs), but I'd only had my first Dal a few weeks when I discovered BJD's and very quickly ended up getting Cleo (pukipuki). I love BJD's but I don't think I'll get a lot of them. I will be getting another PukiPuki and also an anthro but that will probably be all.

    3. Actually I saw Volks Nana's picture about 10 years ago, (of course I didn't know she is Nana at that time) since that, I start save money. = =

After I get my job, I order my first doll online. Dream of Doll Kirill.......

      = = I am so boring.............

    4. 3 years ago, my friend introduced DOD to me with some pictures then she recommended me to see it. She also showed me some pictures of BJD from a pretty cosplayer. It has hooked me up. XD

    5. more interesting then mine I just watched an anime lol

    6. I can't forgot the first time that i saw bjd >< I saw him in Dolls Fretival.
He's is Dollgru head's 09 i am interest in him very much so i search the net for knowledge about bjd
and important things to care doll i love bjd very much >///<
      now i saving for my first doll ah..i think my story is so boring ;w;
P.s. sorry for my poor english

    7. My nana has always loved dolls and she made them so there was that influence then when i went to Youmacon in 09 i say a group of people with BJDs and i thought that they were amazing. So i spent some time around BJD collectors and i quickly grew to love the dolls.

    8. I have collected dolls my whole life, but only BJDs recently. I first saw them while collecting Pullips/Dals/Taes, and fell in love with the tiny ones, and now I am into minis as well. :P

    9. i was always into dolls, but one day i was looking for anime dolls(barbie like/action figure/plushie) on ebay and i found a wonderful looking doll wearing a pink lace bra set that "beachgirlnikita" made for seven dollars.so i thought the doll and underware set was for sale.later when my order came it was just the bra&underwear!so i emailed her and said what happened!so she tolled me that it was just the bra and that the models/dolls were not for sale.so she tolled me where i can get these dolls and what they are.the model/doll that was wearing the bra set was an iplehouse olivia.the first doll i ever saw!but the first doll that i really wanted was a delf moon.this was in 2006,so i was in 6th grade.so i thought moon was a girl,so i wanted him to look like cossette from the portrait of little cossette.then i found out that it was i guy and that all the dolls had their privit parts!but i still wanted one!now my dream doll is one of the volks girls!

    10. i saw them in one book years ago. at that time, i could not afford to bring one back home.
it occured to me so suddently that my dream of owning a doll had realized~

    11. I've been seeing them around for awhile...
Though I always thought 'Well thats pretty'
And dismissed it without a second thought...

Then one of my DA buddies ordered one..
One thing led to another and I ended up researching them.
When I saw the dolls on Pipos' splash page I was like 'omg so cute~'
      Then I saw the Ringo...
And now I'm doing everything I can to bring her home.
      :aheartbea

    12. When I was in Middle school I was very into photography...I was in photography class and everything. I'm still very much into it but back then I was very shy and a complete nerd (Still am and proud to be!). I would always get in trouble in Photography class when we did portraits and stuff, cause they'd always be of me. But being an only child and friends who hate photos it was inevitable. I was and still am an otaku and actually saw my first BJD in an anime. I was amazed by them when I started researching them and instantly fell in love.

My dad thought having one would help with my photography and decided to surprise me with one. So, in retro he's probably the one who got me started with them cause I have 3 now and plan to have more. If he didn't buy Mokuba for me I probably would have never gotten one lol Now I wouldn't give my dolls away for anything cause since then he passed.

@astraldoll7 - off topic but Emilie Autumn ^.^

    13. I've been going to anime conventions for years now, and I've seen a few dolls at each one. A first they creeped me out and I thought they were ugly, but then I saw some that played into my personal aesthetics more and I gradually fell in love with them. The point that I knew I could no longer resist was when I saw one modded to look like Pyramid Head from Silent Hill 2. I said to myself, "Wow, you really can make these whatever you want!" and the rest is history. I'd still love to find that PH again! I didn't get a chance to take a picture and he was amazingly done...

    14. @Lovefromwcu - I'd love to see a Pyramid head BJD! That would be an epic cosplay in my opinion. I know that's off subject sorry >.<

    15. Deviant Art. It was all DA's fault!

Actually, I stayed for a bjd presentation at anime club one night because I had seen them in a magazine, thought they were cool but really didn't care that much. Seeing them in person was completely different. I really liked them, and thought "Someday, maybe when I'm a lot older and have a job." I kind of considered it a goal to have at least one in my lifetime.

But then I saw some beautiful pictures on deviant art, and I started researching them, until I realized had to have one as soon as possible! I found a sculpt that I loved and knew I really wanted him. :) I do not regret the decision at all!

    16. well, i went to a convvention and someone had a doll and i was all like... thats so creepy. then my dads friends friend had one and let me hold her and i fell in love with her and i was all like" I want one!!!1!!!!one!" so i recently bought a boy from mine and my dads friend EGLpirate. and thats the start of my obsession :D

    17. My friend introduced them to me one day, 2 or 3 years ago. I don't remember how exactly it went, either she emailed me with a doll she liked or she told me to search up BJD's when I got home... I don't remember. I like them, and about 2 years later the curiosity sparked again, this time much much more powerful XD

    18. I first saw my first doll in 2004. Within this month I think I will be getting my first doll. I know I want one before anime expo, because I would like to meet up with other people at my next convention and chat.

    19. I saw them during a ren.fair in 2007. I was totally into Pullips and didnt think I would ever get in bjd's because of the pricetag. But the lovely faces and dresses couldnt leave me alone. So I checked out a dutch dealers website and after much contemplation I ordered my first MSD in 2008. My family grew considerably in a short period of time xD. But I am happy with each of them =3.

    20. I stumbled upon a picture of one while i was browsing the web in school and looked up what they were and have been interested in them ever since. I've always liked dolls though, my mum used to buy one for me when she went away to different countries for work. I have a few from Hong Kong, Hawaii and one from France. But only just recently gotten into BJDs :)
