1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. In the end, they're just dolls. Beautiful, expensive dolls, but created for entertainment.
Playing with your doll isn't fun if you spend every moment worrying about them, wearing gloves every time you touch your doll is just ridiculous.

    2. Well i don't think protection is needed, the only thing I have caught from my dolls is the desire bug to buy more. I would say boxing gloves may be good when dealing with S hooks, given my recent experience.;)

    3. I don't wear gloves but I always make sure I'm clean before I even think of touching them. I won't touch them when I've gotten home from work until after I've showered. I work in a big dirty factory.

    4. I don't and never would but I have heard of some people doing that. My dolls are my enjoyment and I love to play with them. If I had to think of gloves everytime I pick one up I would loose the enjoyment of them.

    5. nope no gloves, just clean hands. :)

    6. i think it would depend on how much of a perfectionist you were. if i had had my way, i would have used plastic gloves to handle all my photographs at college.

      i lol'd out loud too.

    7. no gloves for me, sounds like such a hassle for something so durable hahaha. i just make sure my hands aren't filthy or painty.

    8. ive never thought about that. but really, i dont think itd be that necessary. its still a doll that we should be able to touch without it breaking down O_o

    9. I use gloves when I pose him for pictures or dress hp and change new pairs of eyes. When I'm holding him I don't bother with gloves but make sure my hands are clean and not to touch the face up.

    10. I don't think I'll use "protection" when I play with my doll.
If I wash my hands before I mess with them, or if they're pretty clean at least, I think I'm good to go. =)

    11. I just handle them normally (with bare hands) ^^ Though if my hands are even a pinch messy I'll clean them thoroughly?

    12. I wash my hands before I mess with Vincent if they feel clammy or dirty, but otherwise, I use bare hands. I work in a photolab, and I hate the smell of the photo chemicals, so I wash my hands constantly anyway.

    13. No, but I do make sure to wash my hands really good.

    14. No, I see no reason for wearing gloves. I don't touch a doll while eating a slice of bread and butter :) I wash my hands about 1000 times each day - that's a tic and so there is no chance that I could stain my dolls.

    15. lol... i sometimes hold a light cloth instead of directly holding them :sweat only when I am feeling most neurotic, I guess. :D

    16. I make sure I wash my hands and that they're clean before handling my dolls. If they're wearing clothes, I'll handle them with no gloves, but if they're completely naked, I'll handle them with gloves. I guess it's out of habit and I worry that my palms might get sweaty even after I've washed my hands.

    17. I just make sure my hands are clean and not greasy from food etc...

Looks like most of us do this too :)

I think that wearing gloves takes away the fun of playing with the doll- they feel so nice to touch and hold and the gloves thing makes them seem too much of an object rather that something we interact with- of that makes sense!

    18. the only time i want to be wearing gloves in when im working with EMS (ambulance) and they can stay there! as for playing with my boy, i wash my hands alot as it is and make shure they are cleaned before touching mogi. although im terrified to go near his faceup i usualy fix his hair by blowing on it XD

    19. I see that most of people don't wear gloves when handling their dolls. I've never thought about it: my question is, is there people who handle their dolls with gloves? I suppose this is for not spoiling the resin.
I think that touching your doll with your own hands is a sign of affection and love to your doll. In my opinion, handling them with gloves is too cold. If you want to have your doll in perfect conditions the best you can do is cleaning it everyday and caring it carefully

    20. Having to put on gloves every time I pick up my boy would make me feel like he's something that probably shouldn't be played with. If I can't touch it with my bare hands then why would I be handling it in the first place? I really don't worry about damaging my doll that way because a magic eraser can get rid of just about anything. Plus if I was handling him with gloves I'd have a hard time not dropping him because smooth resin + soft cotton gloves = no friction. :/
