1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

    1. Nah... I do use gloves when spraying MSC doing faceups, but that's for my own protection, not the dolls'. =P I tend to re-do my dolls' faceups and body blushing pretty often, so I'm not terribly worried about smudges. I'm of the opinion that they're toys, and meant to be played with. So if they get a little dirty, I just wipe them clean with a Magic Eraser. ^_^

    2. ROFL - love the poll question:lol:
I have never used gloves but i do wash my hands when i know i will handling them a lot, like dressing them in new outfits which is always a bit of a tussle.
I do take care to touch their faces as little as possible though.
      :)

    3. I'm glad you mentioned that; I hadn't thought of it before, but it's sound advice. I'll just think of him as a very oddly-shaped drum

    4. [joins Raven's laughing]

      No... No gloves here...

I *do* make sure that my hands are clean, though, and I'm careful about not touching their faces very often... but I'm one of those weird people who washes their hands constantly anyway, so it's not like I'm taking exceptional precautions with them in that respect.

I can't imagine putting on gloves every time I wanted to do something with one of my crew... I'd be in the things CONSTANTLY, because I usually stop and mess with my dolls every time I walk by them.

    5. Honestly, I'm highly considering looking for some gloves to wear when I handle my boys for long periods of time. Sure, when they first get here and don't have anything of the way of face-ups or anything, I'm going to want to snuggle without care. But once they're dyed and have face-ups and all that jazz, well...my hands are naturally extremely oily, they've been that way since I was little and there isn't anything I can do about it ( believe me, I've tried :| ), I just, well...happen to sweat alot from my palms. :doh

So yes, I'll be definately looking for some type of 'protection' when it comes to my boys ;)

    6. Hah...just got a pullip dal this morning and I can't keep my hands off her and I keep smudging stuff on her, I try washing my hands every now and then but I forget and theres too much temptation. I don't know about my boy and girl (soon to be here) I don't know if I would want to keep them mint or totally love them to bits! :D
      Depends depends XD

    7. Im glad im always cold, i dont seem to sweat much but i do always make sure my hands are clean before i play with Lilith. Im glad that most other people dont seem to bother with gloves either. I dont think that id have the same experience with my girl if i did.

    8. I never use gloves xD Or protection of any sort with my dolls. Just seems weird and a hassle to have to put on gloves to touch an object.

    9. Nah, never use gloves while handling my dolls.

    10. Lol
Nope, if I used gloves, I wouldn't feel the wonderful smoothness of resin. :) ...aaaand I don't see the point in actually having a dollfie (as opposed to just browsing pictures) if I can't directly touch it. That's my thought, anyway.
Although, I wash my hands frequently so as not to get any oil or dirty smudges on resin-- I heard skin oil yellows resin...

    11. However, I DO wash my hands before I play with them, especially when doing faceups or other such. I won't wash them just to pick them up or move them or suchlike but if I'm going to be changing clothes or wigs or playing with them extensively I do wash my hands. It's amazing how dirty your hands can get from common everyday activities!!
      H

    12. No, I don't use gloves to handle my doll, but I do make sure to wash my hands before touching him, or at least make sure they are clean.

    13. Haha, no.
As a lot of others have already stated, I also wash my hands before I handle them. Actually, I clean up everything before I even bring my boys out to play. I'm actually surprised that I don't use gloves. xD

    14. I also wash my hands before I touch my doll, but gloves..I probably would forget to put them on after some point. -_-"

    15. I never use gloves. I try not to touch the face and I wash my hands if I don't think they are clean enough.

    16. ya know, until I read this it would never have actually occured to me to use gloves lol I have them to play with, if they get dirty, oh well, nothing a bit of magic sponge won't cure and I'm not really bothered bout a bit of muck on them anyway. I have actually been known to spit clean Trystan's face at meets cos he just seems to be a dirt magnet...so...um...I guess I'm not overly delicate with them heheh

    17. I try to keep my hands clean, but hey, outer extremities aren't a big deal XD Rooster's arms and legs are always filthy, no matter what I do! So I don't worry about it anymore. It's only faces that I really work to keep clean.

    18. I try to remember to wash my hands before I play with my dolls but that's it.

    19. Definitely hand-washing, but no gloves here either...I try to tell other people (non-BJD) to wash their hands too before touching my kids, but usually it winds up like--"hey, you'd need to wash your han...(and they already picked it up)---never mind ;_;".....

    20. I don't use gloves or anything, I just make sure I wash my hands before I handle my dolls.
