How do you carry your dolls?

Jan 26, 2006

    1. I have a pretty small rolling luggage bag padded with two small blankets. It easily carries both of my MSDs, and it had multiple pockets for clothes. They both wear faceup protectors.

    2. Depends on the situation

at cons, Petra just tends to hold Silence and I hold Petra thanks to the size difference it works out fine, untill Silence becomes a brat again and want's to be held away from his boyfriend ><

anywhere else, probably the same lol

    3. it's the EPIC BABY STROLLER OF WIN lol (seen it in person, full of dollies) and I fangirled getting to watch over them XP

    4. I have an old purse that my sister used to carry around that is basically a mini metal lunch box with a shoulder strap. I plan to use it to carry around my pukis when I finally save up enough to get them.

    5. I have a Volks sd carry bag and a DOD DOC carry bag :) I just carry both of them over my shoulder. There are a couple of different combinations I can use depending on how many dolls. The other day I was transporting (on the bus!) two sds in the Volks bag with my DOD pillows underneath and on the top of them (but not in between the two dolls, I just had them side by side and an extra pillow wouldn't fit), and two msds and a yo-sd in the DOC bag along with three pillows.

My 70 cm boy can't fit in the sd bag because it's too short, so I'll eventually get a case for him so he can come along, although I doubt I'll ever take more than 5 out, especially since the dolls I'm planning for in the future are all sds ^^; .

    6. I can fit all my tinies in a small rolling suitcase. The the larger ones are strapped in on the bottom, then I put a layer of doll pillows on top. I have some plastic boxes with dividers I got at Joann's that can hold several tiny Elfdolls standing up and these go in next. I put odd-sized tiny dolls wrapped in bubble wrap in the outside zip pockets of the suitcase. If I'm taking big dolls somewhere, I usually only take one or two and they fit easily in my Dollshe bag. If I'm taking a bunch of big dolls somewhere, I use a standard suitcase and lots of bubble wrap. I've never taken any of my dolls on an airplane, but if I went somewhere that required flying, I would leave the big ones at home and take dolls that would fit in my carry on. I am totally paranoid about my dolls and would undoubtedly worry about them in my luggage and since I hate flying to begin with, that would just add to my misery.

    7. I have a Dollmore double carrying bag! It very easily fits two SDs, and I'm sure there's room for say, a mini strapped in too, or even a couple of tinies. ^_^

    8. I use my Legend of Zelda Wii case- It's perfect for Yosd sized dolls, and is lightly padded.

    9. I am looking for a solution to this problem, as carrying by hand and such is just not working well for me.

I'm also curious, how do you currently carry your BJD? If you take it anywhere that is. :P

That being...by hand, a yoga bag, a company doll bag, duffel bag, etc.

      Thanks. :D

    10. Well, if I'm taking him somewhere where it takes a while to get there and he will be out of the house for a few days, I'll actually take my boy in the box he came in. It's awkward to carry but easier to keep him safe while we're not at home. If I'm taking him somewhere close by, like to a park for a photoshoot, I'll simply take him in a bag that holds him in it while he's sitting (I have yet to find a bag where he will fit perfectly lying down).
Other times, like when I was at a convention in May, I had him on my head for part of the day (while holding on to him, in fact he quite liked the view up there so he stayed put), but that one's just for fun. :P

    11. Aaryl's never been out of the house, really. Except for when she goes to visit auntie Momo, my best friend, and auntie Momo's resin children, Max, Bella and Nattie. Even then, I just carry her in my arms.

    12. If it's one of my tinies, I carry them in my purse. In fact, since I got a bigger purse, if I'm very creative and careful I can fit an MSD in it! For my SDs, the only time I'd be carrying them would be to take pictures or buy things for them if, for some reason, I needed to have them with me for that, and then I'd put them in my backpack/messenger bag-unless it was for a meetup. I have a rolling bag for that.

    13. I have a Resinsoul carrying bag that can fit two smallish SD girls, so I use that for one or two dolls. It doesn't have a shoulder strap, though, so I also use a 1970s flight attendant's bag that used to be my grandpa's. It fits two SDs sitting down, and I can get a tiny in there with them.
If it's just out for a photoshoot, I use a sturdy basket that they can sit in, and I bring a cloth to keep the sun off them.
I do eventually want a nice dedicated carrying case, but not only are they quite expensive, they usually cost as much again to ship. Impldoll and Resinsoul both include one instead of a box, which I think is an excellent idea.

    14. I only have a Puki Puki at the moment, and so I just pop the little book/box thingy that she came in into my bag and off we go :) That's something I love about her, how portable she is, its great!

    15. if its only 1 doll, i carry him in my big shoulder bag, with him sitting. the pillows that came with the doll goes in, acting as partitions for my waterbottle and other miscellaneous items. i've yet to try bringing them both out yet, so i can't tell if they'll both fit in the shoulder bag...

    16. My baby is only 16cm so I carry her by hand normally. I wrap my hand around her tummy and she rests her arms on my thumb.

    17. I need to invest in a couple doll bags one of these days. Right now it depends on who I'm bringing, how many, and where we're going. If I'm just bringing one doll, and it's a situation where I'm comfortable carrying him/her, and if it's one of my less fussy ones in terms of clothes/wig/faceup I may just carry them in my arms. If I'm just taking one, and I want them to be better protected or be more discrete about what I'm carrying, I'll use a doll box. If I'm bringing several dolls, I pack them in a crate I have (I sit them down in it an pack pillows around them to keep them from sliding around. If I want to bring lots and lots (this very rarely happens anymore), I pull out the giant rolling suitcase but it gets heavy and unwieldy so it's really not my first choice.

    18. If I'm going farther then a friend's house, I have a small suitcase I bundle my boy into. It rolls, so it's nice for walking around with. Just going over to a friend's, or to a park, he either rides in my backpack or in a large grocery bag.
