How do you carry your dolls?

Jan 26, 2006

    1. I have a doll bag from LUTS from SDs which I would use for them but I hate it lol. For my MSD or smaller they just travel in my tote bag or purse respectively. I tend to have a large purse 99% of the time now so I could easily stick a couple of MSD in there if I wanted to.

    2. I recently bought a Dollmore SD sized carrying bag for my girls and it fits all three of them (2 MSDs and a tiny in a carrying pouch + their stuff). Since I do a bit of between state traveling, the carrying bag makes things so much easier than carrying around their company boxes. If I'm in the house and I just want to carry a doll around with me, I usually hold it around the waist.

    3. I don't have money to buy a carry bag (I have so much thing I want before it) so I'm using a regular travel bag that fits my 2 70cm dolls

    4. If was a short trip to a craft store or for pictures close by with only one doll, I carried him by sitting him on my forearm and tucking him against me. More than one, for serious travel, or when I want the option of putting him away, I have a pair of DZ 70cm carriers. They're worth the investment! I can carry two SDs in each one, plus my tinies. It does get heavy when they're fully loaded, but they work better for me than other bags. Lots of pockets, I can get a ton of stuff in one of them. Now I live in the downtown of a big city for school, so if they ever go out it's always going to be in their bag.

    5. If I'm actually traveling with him, like on a plane, then I wrap him up between his pillows (his box is too big for my suitcase), and pack clothes around him so that he's surrounded by soft things on all sides and can't move around, but if I'm just transporting him for a day trip (like to a meet-up), then I do pack my guy in his box for transportation ease, but if I'm taking him around with me and not carrying him by hand, I let him ride in a big purse.

      =^__^=

    6. I got an inconspicuous yoga bag. He gets wrapped in very soft, fluffy baby blanket and slipped in there. It doesn't scream "I'm carrying a doll!" so I feel safe carrying it anywhere.

    7. I carry mine by hand, although sometimes I'll put them in my bag with their hands and head peeking out. Of course I would put pillows in my bag, for safety. owoll

    8. I just ordered a bag from iplehouse for Adia, but I usually just carry the particular doll in my hand. For Animefest I managed to fit them sitting in a little carry-on bag. Adia held Josslyn facing one way and Peyton sat facing the other way.

    9. I actually have this cool little suitcase that I have padding in and it will fit 2 dollies :)

    10. Well, for the moment I only own two dolls 1/4 size, so a sport bag will do for the moment (or that's what I hope, I haven't tried still to put them both together). I sewed two elastic strings to one side of the bag -one at the level of the shoulders and other at the level of the legs-, and on the other side I sewed a button, so I can tie the elastic over the dolls, which are protected by two pillows, (one under and other one above).

    11. On my shoulder or in the crook of my arm if I'm carrying my 60cm+ boys.

    12. I've got a backpack - the size kids use as a largeish bookbag - which will hold two SDs and a Yo or three - in a seated position. Given that I rarely bring the dolls if I'm not bringing the camera, they sit on my camera case, which is on the bottom of the bag.

      Best solution?

Not really, but it works for me!

    13. I don't have one yet, but I plan on getting a doll bag or something else that is really safe, I'd really rather it not get broken. I noticed that most people eventually invest in a doll bag.

    14. Well, let's see. It depends on where I'm going. Right now, I am on a trip. I went on the airplane and I carried my 60cm boy on my lap (the flight attendant remarked that I had the only "lap baby" on the flight). I also brought my Glati. He was in his pillow case in my purse.

    15. Usually in a suitcase with their cushions for padding. (:

    16. I didn't want to spend money on a real case for my Mecha Angels, so I got a $5 old guitar case at a flee market, lined with polyfoam, cut out the shape of the doll in the poly and voila! a cool and cheap way to transport the 80cm doll around town.

    17. I use the carrying bag that my doll came in. Or I just wrap her up securely in the blanket we made for her and place her in a safe spot while traveling, usually between pillows.

    18. I use the carriers aswell. Got three sizes now, so it's always puzzling how I can stuff as many dolls as possible in one carrier xD Most of the time it aren't that many since I always wrap em up in the cushions they came with.

When only taking the smaller ones I can just wrap them up and put them in a backpack. I prefer that weight, since the carriers get heavy really fast :p Rather normal if you look at the context of 4-5 dolls in two carriers xD

I suppose I'll have to go look for a nice suitcase for the bigger housemeets where I might end up sleeping over :p (3 bags is too much, suitcase would be perfect)

    19. Since, I am still waiting for my adorable Sha! I decide to get prepared and I got him a white dollmore carrier bag! =D I know I will carry him by hand a lot! I just wanted a carrier bag for moments when I might need it!=D

    20. Yoga bag: Tried it, doesn't work. Not sturdy.
Violin case: PERFECT FIT. Just haven't had time to fix it up for him. (70 cm. dollzone btw)
Messenger/assorted large bags: Eh, okay but not sturdy enough usually
Legit doll carriers: Well, they're made for dolls so they work really well from my experience xDDD
BY HAND: That's what I do most of the time <3
