1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you carry your dolls?

Jan 26, 2006

    1. depends where im goin to a meet i often take my case with 2 dolls in it and the other 2 in my bag wrapped up in a towel

to expo's and things i tend to take like a duffle bag and again a bath towel and only a msd or smaller doll...that way there light and the bag dosent get in the way aaaand you can put your goddies in it eg wallet, sweets,lunch...and forsome reason i always have a spare change of clothes..hummm...

    2. I have a SD carrycase I use to take my MSDs to and from Meets since I have to travel a bit to get to the location. When I was on holiday I used a large handbag witha sturdy bottom and had cushions in it. Face protector on at all times too haha with tissue paper just in case!

Around the house or if I was going to a good friend's house, I would just carry them normally. MSDs aren't heavy so its no problem haha

    3. For some reason, from the moment I got my first BJD, I knew that she wanted to be carried in the crook of my arm. I'm not always able to do so, but I do endeavor to carry her in that manner, as that's what my dolly seems to want.

    4. I carry my dolls in two bags usually. One is a computer backpack and the other is a rollie scrapbooking bag that holds depending on how big 5-6 dolls...my little 50cm usually she curls up on top wrapped in a sheet.

    5. I usually carry my dolls in the crook of either my left or right arm in an upright sitting position.

    6. I carry my dolls with my right arm in a sitting position(if i'm in an anime convention)..but when going to meets, I usually carry them inside a bag with cushion..

    7. Shinku style! ^^ Though I don't know what I'll do about a bag yet. Company pillow as a shield, maybe.

    8. Mods, if there is already a thread like this, I am so sorry.

This isn't about using carriers (but you can include those times, too, if you want. Rolling carrier like luggage or a bag over your shoulder?), but rather how you carry your doll when you're holding them.

Do you hold them like a baby? Hold them straight in front of you? Put them on your shoulders?

Inquiring minds (mostly mine) want to know!

For the record, when I'm walking I like to put my doll on my shoulder, if I'm sure I won't bump into anything. Usually, though, I hold him in the position I'm going to keep him in. For example, if he's going to be sitting down most of the day, I carry him in the crook of my arm with his knees bent, then sit him down. If he's going to stand, then I carry him with his legs straight.

    9. Usually I carry him (Kii is an SD, just FYI) in front of me, laying back with his legs bent, either with one arm under his knees and that hand on his back, or one arm under his knees and the other supporting his back. (On occaision, I have set him up on my shoulders, just to see if he'd fit. :D)

    10. I generally carry them in just one arm, with them bent in a sitting position.

    11. I know a few ladies who use the fluffy Vera Bradley bags to transport their dolls (which seems to work really well with a face-cap/cover.)

I seem to want to carry my doll by his waist. I lift him like I would lift my five year old cousin. I dont know why.

    12. Rozen Maiden style for me. Seems the most stable, keeps them closest to the body to prevent them getting bumped into, and avoids messing up the wigs or clothes.

I just got an image of somebody using one of those baby carriers you strap on your chest to carry a doll, that would be hilarious.

    13. Depends on the size.
Tinies: Just take them at the middle,
MSDs: at the hip or the middle.
SDs: At the middle, holding the legs with my other hand.

    14. I really depends on my mood and whether I have been kicked, slapped or pinched by the doll I'm picking up that day lol. It can be anything from a gentle hug to a large degree of man-handling ^^;

    15. I carry my doll in the crook of my left arm, usually. I've found it's the easiest way to carry a MSD sized doll.

    16. The day I got Amir almost 4 years ago, he claimed my left arm. lol He'd sit in the crook of my arm and put his head and hand against my neck and snuggle in. When I got Loki and tried to carry him that way, it felt wrong and he wouldn't settle in and Amir would give me glares....So Amir sits there and Loki tends to cross his arms over my right shoulder and rest his chin there like he's either pouting or going to sleep. The weirdest part is that both started as MSD (AoD Chen and DZ Mo) an both have been upgraded to SD (AoD Gu and DZ Mo-B/Doll Leaves hybrid) and both STILL behave that way!! Only those two do it, the rest aren't too picky at all. lol

I usually just grab the others and either set them in the crook of my arm or over my shoulder. Lucien and Zack are small enough to fit in my hand, so usually stay there, though I don't take them out much.

    17. Usually I sit them on one arm like on a bench and use my other arm like a seatbelt to keep them from falling. Sometimes I carry them like a baby with both arms and people think I have a real baby every one in a while. (Because miniature adult people totally look like chubby, hairless, baby people.)

When I go to meets though, I used to carry my dolls in tote bags with towels.... I JUST got a hard case though which is good 'cause my tote bag was starting to rip! OTL

    18. I mostly carry my doll in my arms with her legs bent over my arm like she's sitting but if it's a far travel i'll have her in her carrying bag or i'll have her in my big purse hanging half way out like she's watching everything pass by. It just all depends on the weather or how far i'm going.

    19. I'll put my MSD in a sitting position and hold her under the thighs.

    20. For some strange reason, my tinies seem most comfortable sitting on my shoulder -.-". They almost seem to cling to my ear... (I hold their feet/legs with one hand to prevent them from falling.) Otherwise, they are usually carried in the crook of my arm.
