1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you carry your dolls?

Jan 26, 2006

    1. In the crook of my left arm, hand over their knees to keep them straight. The closest I'm going to get to carrying a baby :D

    2. I usually seat my MSDs on my arm, facing towards me and use my other hand to place behind their back for greater safety. My Obitsu 11 -and subsequent tinies most likely- feel more comfortable in the palm of my hand.

    3. I guess it depends on the size of my doll. I love to cup the tiny ones in my hand!

    4. good thing i live in small city and i barely go out from my house (trust me i don't ....) maybe i just carry him on my arm?
      and if its goes to traveling i put them in the carrier bag , even if i go to the mall i still bring the carrier bag ~
      maybe when taking picture i take them out and for the rest of the day i hold him in my arm :D

    5. It depends on the doll and how many I am carrying.
      My 70cm tends to be a little hard to hold, so I often carry him in a 'bridal style' manner with two arms or 'cradled like a baby' with on arm. Where as my 45cm one I can practically cradle in my hand and will sometimes hold like a teddy bear in my hand (so there is no risk of slipping). My 60cm ones I often bend the legs and hold in the crook of my arm.

    6. I have it in sitting position and carry my boy facing outwards, so he can see everything :)

    7. Honestly, I usually hold their necks and carry them straightened out. XD I find they flop and pinch me less this way. Also, from that position, I can set them down to sit or stand easily. I will carry them by their middles or like a baby sometimes, but I usually do not.

    8. As for my bigger dolls, I usually carry them in a doll-carrier bag, while msd and tynies feel comfortable in my simple shoulder bag) but of course there are some cases when I carry them in my arms like babies ^^

    9. I carry my SD perched on my left arm.

      My only concern with this is that I'm very anxious to mess up her wig. I have a very elegant wig with big elaborate curls. When I carry her I am afraid that when she's leaning against me while walking, the wig will be messy.

      Any ideas?

    10. LaceandBlood- My Soom Amber has the default wig, which doesn't really have curls, but she does have wavy hair that falls on her back. I'm not sure how the hair falls on your wig, but for Amber's I always put her hair over one shoulder so it sits in the front all to one side, so the waves in her hair don't get crushed or flattened :)

      I guess when I'm at home, I usually carry dolls teddy-bear style in one arm. My apartment is kind of small, so I don't have far to walk so it's just easier to carry them upright.

    11. I usually carry mine around in a basket when I go to a con or doll meet that way people can see them without me having to unpack them. This seems to work well for me I can take up to 4 msds plus 2 tinies or just pack in 1 msd and all the yo's and my tinies.

    12. I have never had to carry mine with me anywhere, since I only just got my first, with my second on the way. But I suppose I'll have to start thinking about it, since I want to bring both of them to con with me in April. Now, to figure out how to best transport an SD and a tiny, haha!

    13. AmberLeigh - I have a pair of Leeke's very elaborate, curly monsters for my girl. This means looots of hair.
      But I'm going to try next time I carry her and see if it helps to put all of the hair over her shoulder, thanks! ^^

      Otherwise I'll buy a simple wig I can be a little careless with, and let her have that when we travel.

    14. I'm scared of messing up my girl's wig so I carry in a sitting position but with her facing me

    15. most of the time i carry mine like how shinku tells jun to hold her in Rozen maiden, but occationally i will hold them around the waist in front of me like a teddy bear, but that's only once in a while...and not with my girls cause it makes their skirts ride up and they flash people...

    16. I carry her in the crook of my arm a lot and usually make sure her legs are supported. :sweat

    17. I carry my boy in the crook of my arm and hold his legs with the hand of my other arm.
      Every once in a while... I get lazy and stand him on my palm and lean him against shoulder/head. Usually i wrap his arm around my neck too. XD;;

    18. I carry my Cedrick sitting in the crook of my left arm with him holding Kaisa on his lap his arms wrapped around her her hands on his arms holding them close to me.

    19. I carry my SD boys in the crook of my arm, knees bent, with my opposite hand around the shoulder furthest from me for security. It feels a little bit like cradling a baby, except that they're sitting upright and I'm holding their shoulder rather than their head...

      I have yet to try carrying more than one, but I think I would be afraid to! I actually intended to make a special bag/basket-type carrier kind of like a bed or litter with carry-handles so that two of them (likely the two who are actually a couple) could sit inside it and I could carry them around together...

    20. I usually carry them with their legs bent, sitting in the crook of my arm, mostly. Because that way, it's a very secure way to hold them/you can effectively keep them close.

      I have had my 65cm sit on my shoulders with a leg on either side of my head, but this made moving difficult, since I was trying to make sure he wouldn't bend over backward(and sure enough, he did wind up doing so at one point, even though he stayed firmly on my shoulders when he did so/I only noticed because his wig and hat fell to the floor. XD;
