1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you carry your dolls?

Jan 26, 2006

    1. It was around $130, and I'm not sure how much it weights with 2 SD's and 2 MSD's. It's awkward, and because I put both SD's on the same side, heavier on one side than the other. :doh

    2. I bought a big 70cm something size bag from Wal-Mart with a handle and wheels last year. I use that if I'm all my dolls to cons or meets.
As transporting them around the con, I push them in a baby stroller.

    3. Matters on who I'm carrying. If it's any of my Model dolls then I've got a Dollmore Model Carrying Bag, but if it's smaller I'll just go along with a messenger bag. It can hold a SD or two-three MSDs. Whatever I have at hand is usually how it goes. At a con though I may actually carry them seeing have a 70cm as my first has helped me build some muscle! xD

    4. I can hold up to 4 SD's in my arms, after that they start going in my Dollmore Carry bags. ^__^ Normally though I try to limit excursions to 2 or fewer dollies.

    5. My father has an extensive gun collection, and each year my brother and I pair up to get him a rifle case for Christmas. I have considered using a rifle case for carrying my dolls at one point. I can't really give a definitive answer, but for a rifle case that holds, say, two long rifles, is metal, and locks most stores in my area charge anywhere from $150 to $350, sometimes more. These cases of themselves weigh anywhere from 10-20 lbs depending on the materials used and would probably weigh about 10-15 lbs more with four dolls heavy SDs in it. A plastic case could go for anything from $40-$100, weigh about 10 lbs and then be the additional 10-15 for four dolls. These cases seldom lock.

    6. ...very carefully. ;)

I am currently using a Gundam Zaku suitcase (mine is in green, though)...it can hold four SDs if folded correctly. :)

In the US, I had a massive self-made case, that could carry some 6-8 dolls (SD and smaller.)

    7. Basket. *shrug* Easy-peasy. My mom gave me a big one and I have a couple of smaller ones.

Carrying dolls onto airplanes, now--I just have fairly big bags that still make the carry-on (not valet) cut. Face masks on those with crushable eyebrows, wrap them in tea-towels, and play doll tetris.

    8. I've had dolls on the plane 3 times, my dollshe bag will fit 2 hounds and a mini easily. I've used it, put my babies in with my clothes in a suitcase and once i hand carried my boy. got raised eyebrows but no complaints.

In town I hand carry my boy and usually let friends carry my extras.

    9. I can easily fit an SD and Three MSD's snugly in my dollzone carry case. But when it comes to more dolls, I usually package them carefully into small personal bags then put them in my guitar case. It seems odd but it does work quite well, and that thing is unbreakable!

    10. Lol I used to carry 2 SDs with out a carrier... I tried 4 but my arms got tired XD So I carry one in my arms and the others in a rolling suitcase or the double SD carrier. Suitcase is easier >< Oh god the back pain I got with that double SD carrier ><

    11. I have what are essentially gym bags to carry my crew in. The smaller one fits 4 MSDs perfectly, even wrapped up in blankets and pillows. The larger one would probably fit all eight of my crew if I ever decided to take them all somewhere at the same time. :) The smaller one is the only one I ever use though.

    12. At the moment I have 6 dolls ad two cases. One can carry 2 60cm and 2 42cm at the same time. It's one of those double carrying bags from Dollmore. The other is a guitar coffin case. It can hold my Unoa and My DD/Soony hybrid. I suppose I'll have to buy another case as I soon, the 69cm dolls are growing in number around here. :| Taking them all on planes isn't too much of a problem as long as I'm not carrying anything else, otherwise the maximum dolly traveling number is 2 at a time.

    13. i usually put all of them together and wrap them with a pillow all at once

i think its kinda ok for me but it must be really uncomfortable to the dollies XD ~ i'm such a lazy person

    14. I'm thinking of buying either the Mosaic 30-inch Wheeled Duffel Bag or Traveler's Choice Rome 29-inch 'Spinner' Hardside Upright from overstock.

I have one 67cm, a couple of heads that will be on 65cm and 64cm bodies with an incoming 30cm and 60cm. I know I'll be doing lots of photoshoots with the 4 large dolls but I stand at 4 foot 11 inches, about 149cms tall. No way I can carry all of that in my arms. I need a rolling, hardbodied suitcase. XD

    15. Thru no plans of my own, I've ended up with 3 large doll carriers. I can easily fit 2 SDs with padding in each one then tuck in a couple of tinies or MSDs around the sides. When I'm doing programs I take all 3 carriers plus a duffle bag with more padded dolls & some furniture in it. Sometimes I'll even remember to squeeze in my camera.

    16. I have now discovered my 70cm rickydoll carrier can hold 1 70cm and 3 SDs o.o

    17. I'm lucky, I've got tinies!
I've bought a sort of metal beauty case and I've put some sof parts in it and that's all! My tinies can travel with me in their beauty case!
My Minifee, instead, is waiting for her carrier bag..

    18. I sewed individual cocoons for my dolls with fabric that I quilted. I put the doll in, buckle it and than place the cocoon, standing, in a huge bag that I made with antique mattress fabric. All 8 of my dolls (6 SD, 2 MSD) , in their cocoons fit in the bag. The cocoon is a quilted container with top and bottom with sides that fold over and buckles so the doll is completed encased in a thick quilted cocoon. I recently had to replace the closure button on the bag because the weight pulled it out so I now use D ring closure on the bag. The bag is heavily reenforced at all stress points because of the weight. I can carry it over my shoulder.

    19. anyone who has ever seen my collection or seen me go to a meet knows I simply cannot bear to leave a doll behind, so when I have to transport them i use a large suitcase, lying on their sides, totally cushioned by their box cushions I can fit 10 SDs, one MSD, in two layers. The dolls have to spoon, there is padding between them above them and below them. I then squeeze a hound and a DoT size doll together into my Dollshe bag, so all come with me......at least...that was before I got a few more......

    20. I use one standard SD doll bag, and cram 3 dolls in there. I also have an MSD doll bag, which fits 1 MSD, 1 YOSD and 1 Pipos, but can also fit a second YOSD, a second MSD, and a Dollzone tiny for my friend when needed. Then I also have a single doll bag made from box cushions. I want to replace that with another large doll bag so I can have 2 in each large doll bag. Either way... I carry all my dolls by slinging all the bags over my shoulder and walking very awkwardly.... or I get someone else to carry one bag.
