Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

    1. I used the day my guys arrived. (minus year)

      But i wouldnt mind just using dates i like randomly.

      I never thought about his Zodiac.. Hmm.
      I might change his birthday to fit that if i dont like what it is. xD




      (edit; i ended up changing his birthday by 2 days so he can be an Aquarius like me =w=)

    3. I wanted random dates so I let google decide the birthday for my dolls. I just typed "birthday" and their first name and picked the first date I read in the links.

    7. I don't think I've ever made a character quite developed enough to have a set birthday, so that's out. I'd consider the date of arrival more an anniversary than a birthday, somehow. I'll probably end up just fleshing out his character to the point he has a birthday.

    9. I suck at remembering dates so I decided that my dolls wouldn't have any birthdays and always stay the same age. I already have trouble remembering which year I bought them. I think I'm going senile *_*

    10. For me it should be the day they arrive or the day they are completed.

      My doll arrived completed, so her "birthday" is the day she arrived.

    12. Hmm...I didn't really think all that much about my boy's birthday, I mostly just chose a day. I should have done the day he came to me or the day I ordered him, but it just never crossed my mind to do that. I just thought about the month that has his favorite type of weather and chose a day within that month.​

    16. I pick my boy's birthdays based on this little book I picked up from Barnes and Noble XD It gives the days of each month and the meanings for the day itself. Like, 'if you're born on this day you are...' and so on. Then I just gotta pick a day that coresponds to my character^^ Though other things are taken into account as well. Such as how it would fit into my story, it's relation to real people's b-days, etc.

    17. Mine is mostly when they have a completed face-up rather than a blank. If they arrive with a face-up, then that's their birthday. If they arrived without face-up, I'll send them off on commission and when they arrive back, stick eyes and a wig on him, and then he's born. Even if I change his face-up, his birthday will still be the day he had a face.

    19. Ahhh..strangely enough this is actually of great conflict for me xD

      Before I even had any of my dolls, I already knew when their birthdays were, for their characters. Nazomi's birthday is February 14th, Fakia's is October 31st and Prince's birthday is December 25th. All nice and simple. <3

      But then sometimes I wonder if I should use their box arrival date, since I LOVE Nazomi's arrival date, August 2nd, as it's the same day my cousin had her first baby :D But then, other than him, Fakia and Prince don't really have anything otherwise special about their arrival dates, so it would seem kind of off. :/

      And then sometimes I wonder if I should wait for the day when I deem them as finally 'complete'-all their mods, face-ups, right wigs, eyes, etc. But then that could be quite a long time and I usually scrap that idea after some thought.

      Fakia also gives me a dilemma though since he IS an Ox Demon, and then sometimes I think how cute it would be to shift him into April so his Zodiac sign could be the Ox. But then after some thought, my sister's birthday is in April too, and Fakia is really my favorite darling while Nazomi is more hers, so then that starts to feel a little wierd...

      I do think I sometimes put more thought into this than necessary xD

    20. I haven't got a doll yet, but when I do I'll base it on the day of arrival. It would be like I was the mother holding her newborn child after it comes into the world, you know? Except it would be a doll coming out of a box, but it's the same sort of idea.
