1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. The day when he arrived, but i also want his b-day could be the same day as RYU chan(that's where his name came from)
      hard to choose= =

    2. Day of arrival for me also~ :cake:

I wonder though, if I got a doll for my birthday or Christmas, would their birthday be that day, or the day they arrived in the mail? I guess it would have to be when I opened them. I'll have to avoid getting dolls for holiday presents, I guess. :sweat

    3. The arrival date for full dolls. In the case of heads/bodies that were purchased at different times, the date when they are finally whole and ready to be shown off.

    4. For my Marie, it was the day my fiance bought her for me at Volks. I think for future BJDs in my life, it would be the same deal; the day they become a part of my life. :)

    5. I think I'll be basing my doll's birthday on the day that I can *officially* have him, not the day that he comes home.

    6. Mine is based off of a existing character which happens to be two days after my birthday..and strangely around the time that I became intrested in BJDs

    7. definitely e arrival date for me.

it'll be e day e darling arrived to me so it'll be special.xD

    8. When my doll gets here that will be his birthday.

    9. I was wondering the same thing - my dolls are birthday less at the moment.

    10. Well my first boy still hasn't arrived but I have already decided his birthday will be the day that I hold him in my hands for the first time.

    11. Arrival date ;) It's the day I saw him for the first time. I have no way of knowing when he was made or finished anyway.

    12. I don't htink my guy will so much as have a birthday, as just a celebration day. He's second hand, so I don't know when he's original 'birth' day is.

I've picked October 30-31'st (yes, two days). No, not because it's Halloween... or at least not the modern version:sweat.

It's the time in old beliefs of western culture that the divide between the spirit world and the real world weakens, and your subconcious is to reign freely in your mind. A time of trickory and blessings and remebrences, ending in a fresh start after burning all the old demons away (bonfire) to leave just our loved ones behind to have one more meal together.

Thus, since my boy is more or less an extension of my subconcious, his Celebration is October 30'th to 31'st. And yes, I do plan to commemorate with a mini bonfire (marchmellows kick rear!).

    13. For me, it differs.
Yelena's, Vladislav's and Ivan's birthdays are at the day they arrived.
But Leana arrived together with Yelena, and Vladislav (head only) arrived together with Ivan.
And when I am going to order my next doll, she will be ordered together with Vladislav's body.

Leana's birthday will be when she is "finished": when she has her face-up.

And my next doll girl will be called Varushka and her birthday will be on the day of arrival again.
Vladislav has the same birthday as Ivan, even when he still has no body, but they are twins. :)
I don't like non-twin dolls to have the same birthday :sweat

    14. Day of arrival at least for my newest. . .he arrived on March 31st. . .so he's a march baby. . .I can't remember the exact date of my first boys arrival. . .so I set it too July 7. . .I might change it at some point. . .

    15. Sometimes they just let you know... a date may swim unbidden into your head, randomly or semi-randomly, or you may just suddenly realize that you recognize their horoscope.

The last birthday that came to me, Karim's, was out of frustration: I couldn't and couldn't and couldn't find the right pair of gold eyes for him, after spending lots of money on many pairs, and his "pickiness" started to piss me off in the EXACT way I used to get mad at my supremely Virgo ex-boyfriend. I found myself scolding this inanimate doll in the same style I used to rant at poor old Douglas ("Jesus on a rollercoaster, babe!! Why does everything have to be Just Exactly Your Way?!?")... and I found myself getting the same prim silence in return. Flashback! :mwahaha Et voila: Karim got dear departed Douglas's September 7th birthday.

    16. They're all different, but I use a birthday that seems to fit or click.
Since my El's last name is Shiramizu (PLC fans will know this), I wanted his birthday to be horribly close to seek's. However, there's a day-break between seek and YURAsama's birthdays, so I chose that day...
As for Hiroshi, he's so much like me that I thought, "He has to be born in March!" and March 17th just popped up in my head and stuck.
Haneol is a February boy, because that's around the time he was discovered in the story. Nothing really significant or anything, I just thought, "Hey, why not?"
I plan to get a Soom Rex, and his birthday is already marked as March 27. ^^ I'm fine with that!

    17. I asked around for this whole birthday thing and most used either arrival date or "finish" date, the day the doll is returned after getting face up etc. As both mine came and needed to go back out for faces, I chose their "finish" dates. Which turned out to be quite funny really. 2/2 and 4/1. Who says fate doesn't have a sense of humour?

    18. For me so far my boys' b-day is the day they arrived at my home. However, I have 3 dolls on the way now... xDDD So I wont be making all their b-days the same, I'll probably just pick days according to the zodiak personalities I want them to have :D

    19. my Doll's birthdays are the day they arrived. But I dont remember which day my Delf Miyu arrived :doh I need to try and rememer D8 I remember it was a tuesday... or.. thursday? *_*

    20. Mine's going to be the date I picked him up from Lulu's house. :) I met him on the 21st of March but took him home on the 22nd... 21st can be his birthday, because that's when he formed his personality. :aheartbea
