1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. I'll probably pick mine by the personality or such, though I have a tendency to make a lot of cardinal sign dolls since that's Libra and the squares to Libra.

    2. None of my dolls really have a set birthday. Two are elfs and I don't think they would care to celebrate a birthday since they live so long (hundreds of years). It just doesn't seem like something they would find important to remember. My third doll is so much like me that we might as well share a birthday.

    3. Isabella's birthday is May 1st. That is the day that she arrived.

    4. I use the date that my doll arrives as the birthday. n.n I'm not sure what I'll do with a head though. Probably wait until I have a body and he's all put together.

    5. I agree with alot of the other people. When I get my girl, I'm thinking of making it the day she arrives. I would have to say that the only person I would most likely already have a birthday for would be if I got a boy that fit a character that's real to me, then the birthday I gave him, to me, is more special than the day I get him, (which would be really funny if I got my girl the same day as that characters birthday which is actually extremely possible :))

    6. I don't have my doll yet, but I was planning on using the birth date I gave my character instead of the day I get him.

Although knowing me I will celebrate 2 birthdays for him. The day I get him out of the box and the date I gave his character. ^_^

    7. Here's a question that follows this thread a bit. do you celebrate your doll's birthday? If you do how? Do you throw a little party? Do you get them presents? or do you just say "yay it's your birthday!"? How does one handle a birthday for their dolls?

    8. I was considering having his birthday the day I ordered him. But if I were to get all ultra dorky, I guess that would be equal to him being "conceived". So with that logic in my head, the day he arrived seemed right. :D

And in response to phantom's questions, since he's so new I haven't considered any of that yet. But it'll be neat to think about all that next July... I suppose it would be a fun excuse to have a doll gathering. <3

    9. I would use the day of arrival. I hadn't really thought about star signs though - I must check what my girl's sign would be and see if she matches it!
I think that a doll's birthday is a perfect excuse to get them a present like a new outfit or shoes or something.

    10. The day she arrives :)

    11. I'm sure I'll celebrate the day Mystic arrives, but his birthday will be October 13th :) (my OC's ((the one he's based off of)) birthday) That's always the day I cosplay to school and make cupcakes :D

    12. I think to choose the day of arrival is a quite good and common idea. It makes sense.
But for my dolls I made it differently, I chose the month matching to their characters and then picked the day of a close friends birthday XD
that makes it easier for me to remember both lol *forgets birthdays a lot* ~.~
I aked a friend of mine if it was ok, if Eden shared her birthday date with her, she was totally delighted XD might be because she likes her so much ^-^
somehow this way it's lots of fun and the birthdays become more important and dear to me.

    13. 16th April (Gwen), 7th May (Alaw) and 16th June (Zee) and I do plan to celebrate their birthdays! For all of them, it's they day they arrived.

I think I'll get them something for Christmas as well, but it'll be low key. I won't put the presents under the family tree or anything.

    14. The day the doll is home at me, and been packed out, thats the day i give my doll their birthday.

    15. For my first doll I picked the day I got him. For my future dolls, I'm picking days by signs.

    16. Mine will be the day everything comes together for him :aheartbea His body, head, wig, and clothes will all be coming at separate times, so that only seems right. It would be weird to make it the day his body arrives xD (That's the part I think will be here first)

    17. Well, all the dolls I have in planning right now have set characters that they are going to become. Many of those characters already have set birthdays, so the doll's birthday will be that of the character. For the characters that either do not have birthdays, or who do not have birthdays based on any 'earth calender' or modern calender, I don't know how I'll pick, at which point the date of arrival is as good a date as any unless the date just doesn't seem to fit. ^-^

    18. All my dollies have zodiacs (exept the immortal ones), but not everyone has a specific birthday yet.

Some of them do, which was decided according to their character and zodiac. And yeah... they do get special attention that day. :sweat It's all in good fun.

    19. My dolls' birthdays are the day that I physically released them from the bubble wrap and tape. That's the day that I will remember first having them, so it becomes their official birth date.

    20. Mine also coincides with the day she arrived. But I'm used to forget birthdays, so I can't realize when should I cheer her ¬¬uu
