It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. My dolls' birthdays are when they arrive at my home.

    2. erm, well unless i have the character planned out way in advance and the date has some huge significance it will be the day they arrive/are complete

most of my dolls are characters i rp on different forums so if i rp the character first it will usually be that day i create/post for them

    3. My first doll (my DOC Too) was complete when I bought him, so I had his bday be his arrival date: 7/7/07 which is rediculously awesome! Because of that, I call him my "lucky boy."

My 2nd doll was different. I bought his head first and then his body. I made his bday the arrival of the head because that's the defining part.

    4. I Don't have a doll yet But umm, I'd say the day he gets here except i'll change the year to match his age for his backround or story.

    5. I didn't see this topic yet and i've been curious about a few things. Personally I would love to have a birthday for my doll when I get one. But I also want to know how do you decide what day is the birthday of your doll? Is it the day you ordered? The day he/she was shipped? Or the day he/she arrived? But the real question is this:

      - Do you celebrate doll birthdays?

    6. I guess the dolls 'birthday' would be the day it arrived to you.

Kind of like it isn't your birthday until you're born. Your birthday isn't the day you are concieved.

And no, I don't celebrate dollie birthdays, as I can't keep up with when I got who... But I do what I can to spoil them accordingly.

    7. no i forget when most of them show up and then alot arrive in pieces. i'm not even 100% sure how long i've had most of my resins. :sweat

    8. i decided the birthdate of my boy by the day i got him and i also plan on celebrating his birthday ^^'

    9. All of my dolls are/will be baised on pre-existing characters. Most of them have birthdays pre set by the story I wrote for them. (Pip's is coming up actually).

I celebrate birthdays for the ones that celebrate birthday's in the story which none of the dolls I have right now do, but when I get my Bobobie her's will be April 16th and we'll do a photostory most likely. But Pip's character doesn't like birthdays so I wont do anything.

And Iurra's culture doesn't celebrate birthdays so we wont be doing anything for him either.

    10. No, I don't celebrate it, but I do make an acknowledgment of it.

    11. I think I kinda do. I usually buy some new clothes for the girl who will have birthday. In the past, I will take the birthday girl out to take pictures, but I don't have time recently. So what I do is just prepare some new clothes and take a few pictures at home. :)

I think it is an important day to both me and my girls. Because that is the day she came to me, and it is so sweet to celebrate the years we stay together.

    12. Most of my dolls have their 'birthday' written on the birth certificate they came with, which is probably the date they were either made or shipped out. So I'll probably celebrate them when they come around.

    13. If I remember I will. Make her a little mini cake or something ^^ But I often forget stuff like that because I'll have a year to wait til October rolls around again ha ha

    14. I don't celebrate doll birthdays, but I celebrate my own by buying a new doll.

    15. I don't really think of birthdays when I think of my dolls' characters; I concentrate more on their personality and personal symbolism.

But Peter and Nibs have birthdays, those birthdays being the opening day of Peter Pan, and I will most certainly be celebrating that. :3

    16. If I remember I try to take them out for photos...
One of my dolls came on my birthday, she's one year old now and she came with me to celebrate last time.

    17. I've been to a doll birthday party, but the only one of my complete dolls with a character that knows when their birthday falls really wouldn't care to celebrate it. Personally, even as I do get characters home that would celebrate I don't think I will, it's not like I'm planning to age their characters.

    18. Huh i'm surprised to hear more noes than yeses. I expected more people to say that they do. I was thinking if I end up having more than one dolly I might choose one day to celebrate all of them, kinda like how in the US we have President's Day to technically celebrate all the birthdays of the presidents. Japan does have a "Doll Festival" aka "Girl's Day" on march 3rd.

    19. I celebrate dolls' birthdays because it's just a fun little event we can be happy about (and an excuse to smother our dolls with love; not that we don't do that already).

I just got my first doll, and his birthday is December 9th, the day he arrived. But the thing is, all the other dolls I'm planning on getting are already characters, so I suppose I'd celebrate their birthday on the actual character's birthday (but I'd probably also do a little something for the day the doll arrived; again, it's an excuse to smother our dolls with love).

    20. Every one of my dolls have two birtdays each: the day when they arrived to the family and the day their character is born in my story. I use to have some minor celebration for two of them on their Character's Birthday but haven't yet had the opportunity to celebrate an Arriving Day since I haven't yet had a chance to experience an anniversary. XD Akira's is in Januray though. :3
