1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. For my dolls it's the day we took them in our hands for the first time (it's not necessarily the same day they arrived - 2 of my dolls have come when I was on several-days trip). Floating heads included - they are "born" to family and to story with or without bodies.

    2. Jordan's birthday is November 21, the day his head arrived.
His body arrived about a week before the head, but to me the head is what really matters when it comes to personality so that's when his birthday is ^^

    3. I guess for me it'll be when the full doll is together (minus the faceup/wig) but as long as the doll has a head and body that day will be their birthday :)

    4. The day my dolls arrive, that is there birthday. :)

    5. There was a topic already about doll birthdays, i knew there had to be. But I searched it and found nothing. Thanks to whatever mod made this as one post :)

    6. The day they arrive in my house/day I hold them that's when their b-day is. :)

    7. Id hafta say that Id chose their birthday to be when they finally arrive X3 its like when the child is born...their finally there in your arms..all nekki and whatnot XD

    8. Whatever the character's birthday is. ^^
I guess that'll be... October 31st & August 24th. Arrival dates wouldn't really work for me, since one will be Christmas and the other will have been here as a headless body for 2-3 months before his head arrives. :sweat

    9. I've only given a birthday for one of my dolls and that was because she was a birthday present for me. Otherwise, with everything else I have to remember, I just don't bother with birthdates for my dolls.

    10. For all of my dolls, I either can't remember the arrival date or I wasn't there. (How sad!)

So for my dolls birthdays, I go by general systems.

My Shoyo arrived around Thanksgiving, so I celebrate her birthday ON Thanksgiving. My Megi arrived during the summer, around my birthday, so I celebrate HIS birthday ON MY birthday! XD

My BBB Erin, however, I don't remember the day, nor the month, because I was out when she arrived, then had to leave immediately after she was opened.

So I celebrate her b-day on January first.

    11. Either date of order or date of arrival.
In the case of floating-heads, the day any of the parts were ordered/arrived.

(Amarthenna shares a birthday with the Emperor of Japan ;) Coincidence, I swear.)

    12. My characters don't have assigned birthdays, so I'll just use the day they arrived.

    13. All of my dolls have the same birthday to make it easier to celebrate. The day just happens to coincide with my three cats' real birthday which is also the first day of spring. Works out well because we can have a mass party and get everybody's party done at once. (Not lazy, just efficient) :)

    14. Jude's birthday is on Nov. 9, the day I recieved his head. His body didn't arrive until like ... late November though XD

    15. I would go with the arrival day. Though with my previous dolls (non bjds) they don't have birthdays because they have no personalities.

    16. I`ll just go with the day he arrives.

    17. When I opened the box! =) I wouldn't do the they arrive, because I might be away for a while, and in that case I would miss their own birthday! *laughs* So the day I open the box ;)

    18. It depends on the significance of the date, I'm one of those weird people that pretty much personify everything there is about my zodiac sign, right down to the day calendars of my traits, favorite colors and the numbers I lean to.
With Shin I'm working out his personality and what month he should be born into, then figuring out a date from there. I do the same thing with the characters in my books because of how heavily one series relies on the western astrology of the people involved.:goldstar

    19. for me its the day of arrival ^_^ because that is when they truely come home and are born into your household

    20. I usually go by the date that they arrived. If I had multiple dolls, such as twins, I'll probably just make up any random date for their birthday. :)
