It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. My doll's birthdays are determined by the day they enter my care, ie: June 22 was the day I got into the post office to pick Vincent up, so that's his birthday. In the case of hybrids, where the head and body arrive separately, the date of birth is determined by the day the head enters my care, ie: Ezra's head arrived on Halloween, while his body arrived in the first week of November, I believe.

    2. i choose the day that they arrive :)

    3. I don't have this doll yet, but I thought about him and thought about how April kind of reminded me of him, so I went with April and the 17th because the 13th was my grandfather's birthday and I didn't want him to share a birthday him. :sweat And that's what I do for all my dolls. :sweat

    4. After reading this forum, I decided that it made the most sense to me, to make the day of my doll's arrival the birthdate. I was soooo unbelievably excited about getting my doll, it was the only thing I could think about for weeks that led up to the day she arrived, so it just made sense that that happy day should be her birthday! The only thing is, I never thought about giving her a birthday, and furthermore, I couldn't remember the day I got her :(

Soooo after looking at this discussion, I rushed to my email inbox to see exactly when I ordered her and to find the email announcing that I had a package in the mail (Luckily I don't delete my mail very often!). So after all of this I came to the conclusion that my doll's bday is october 25th 2007... It's hard to believe I haven't even had her for two months yet, it feels like I've had her for so much longer!

    5. Well, since the character came before the doll, I looked at horoscopes and picked which one best described her. And, as for the date, eenie meenie miney mo. :'D

    6. Joz's birthday was determined after I ordered him, since I wanted it to match his personality.

And even though he isn't here yet, I might just celebrate his arrival as a second birthday of sorts, too.

    7. I picked the day he arrived, it sort of makes sense for me :)

    8. The day they arrive. :) Makes it easier to keep track! My crew is getting a bit out of control and it would be too hard to keep up with their birthdays any other way.

    9. my doll's birthday would technically be different from that of the character. the character is december 30th, but the doll was recieved by me sometime in august. i would just consider whether it is the doll or the character's bday you wish to celebrate. if it is the character i would then consider what each month of the year reminds you of or means to you and then find one that relates most to that character. thats basically how i did it.

    10. Since my dolls are based off of established characters, their birthdays are already set. The day they arrive is still a special day though.
The real irony is that Imbrium arrived on her birthday. Originally she wasn't going to, but Fairyland had just come out with their new active line body, and sweetly agreed to switch her over to being an active line shushu instead. So that delayed her coming home, and she arrived on her birthday!

Sadly, I doubt I'll be able to get Alicestor's body by his birthday.

    11. Any dolly that already has a character and a birthdate before they arrive, keep that birthdate, but otherwise it's the day they arrive, even if their not complete, the minute I'm holding a doll in my hands they are allice to me.

    12. My lot already have established birthdays, due to being based off characters who've been living in my head for years, so there's no question for them. But I think the only exception to this will be my girl Philoaxa; Since she was based off of my Gaia Online avatar, her birthday will be the join date of my account there (but she's not too keen about letting her birthday be known anyway). :)

    13. I went by horoscopes. I don't give that kind of thing much credence, but it was fun anyway. ;)

    14. I would choose the day he arrived as a birthday, but now seeing his face and "attitude", he belies zodiac. Totally.

    15. Eh, mine were mostly a "close-your-eyes-and-point-at-a-date-on-a-calender"-type 8D;

    16. Depends, I'd say it's the day the doll is complete as in head + body however if there's a good three or four months between getting the two together I'd go with the date the first item arrived, be it head or body.

    17. When do you consider a dolls birthday? Like, on its arrival date, or the day you paid it off, etc.

I am thinking of its arrival box opening date day for me.:gingerbreadman:hollyberry

    18. For me it depends on the doll...as all of my currently planned 'babies' are doll forms of my and my husband's characters. For those characters that already have birthdays, the dolls will keep the same date...for the ones who DON'T have birthdays yet...it'll likely wind up being the day they show up at my door.

    19. For me it is when they come home and I open them. :) And if I get the head and body separate, I have to decide if it is when I get the head or when I get the body.
