Dollshe and the sculptor may not advertise his products on this forum. Sales may not be discussed, no news threads may be posted regarding new releases. This ban does not impact any dolls by Dollshe ordered by November 8, 2023. Any dolls ordered after November 8, 2023, regardless of the date the sculpt was released, are banned from this forum as are any dolls released under his new or future companies including but not limited to Club Coco BJD. How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

    1. I don't tend to be all that sentimental about marking time: Birthdays, anniversaries or holidays. A lot if it seems to be a manufactured reason to spend money or perform in a certain way, so I'm relieved to *not* have that kind of pressure with little nonsentient resin people, should I keep them long enough.

    2. I probably do what most people do in that have replied here on how to determine their doll's birthday. I decide on the birthday when they reach my house. :)

    3. I would probably call when they arrive more of an 'anniversary' as opposed to a birthday. I choose birthdays dependent on their character, charisma and personality usually. With things like star signs and zodiacs taken into account.

    4. Well, for my first doll, he already had a background and personality, since he was a story character first. So his birthday was already set. In fact, it was shortly after I got him, which was pretty fun.

      For other dolls, I think I would do sun signs. I think I'm one of those people who discovers personalities once I get the doll, and a birthday would come naturally to me. If it does not, then the day it arrived.

    6. I usually decide on birthdays either by the day they arrive at my home or sometimes I just make up a date myself, based on the the personality I gave my doll.^^

    7. For me, It was the day I picked Artemys up at the convention. So the lucky boy's birthday is during the biggest Anime convention and Doll meet in Toronto. Which means LOTS of birthday presents! When My Little Freuline gets here, I intend on making her arrival date her birthday. But then I was thinking... Her partener, Too, and my friend Kelsey's doll, Mo, and My mom's doll, Long... and the two free event dolls, leo and Luna.. and My free event head, Sha.... will all be arriving at the same time! So there'd be like, 6 dolls and a head all with the same birthdays??? O.o We'll have to work something out there.... >.>

    8. My current dolls, and many future dolls, are based off of characters for a story I've been writing. I usually end up picking a random date for their birthdays, but I like the idea of using signs and personality traits to determine what it should be. ^^

      I make their birthday the day they (fully) arrive.
      Ex. If i get the head in May and the body in June, the birthday would be June, because thats when the full doll was put together.:)

    17. What about the day of you purchased the doll... or would that be like conception? I was thinking about declaring the day my Trez arrived as his birthday, but the idea about the sign that fits him has made its place in my thought process... I'm not so sure anymore ???

    18. The two characters I've actually given birthdays to are Hikaru and Atsuko, and both dates had been predetermined wayyy before I bought their doll counterparts. Atsuko's is May 18th, and I decided on that one many years ago back in grade school. May 18th was the day of one particular year when it was the beginning of summer vacation, and when I was a kid I loved the last days of school more than Christmas and my own birthdays (I REALLY, REALLY hated school :sweat) Since it was such a wondrous day, I dedicated that date as a birthdate for Atsuko.

      Hikaru's birthdate is September 11th. I picked it because I thought it rolled off the tongue quite nicely...and that was before it became the infamous date of the terrorist attack in the US. *_*

      It is funny how I got 2 dolls this year.... but bot have different chinese astrological signs XD
