1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. For my whole dolls it's definitely the day they arrived. For the floating head it won't be until she has a body, eyes, and probably a wig.

    2. I went by the day they arrived.. but sadly my memory for such things suck and I don't remember the date for any of them but my newest, Apollymi. ;_; I wrote them down a while back so I would remember, but it somehow got trashed.

    3. For my two girls, it's been the day of their arrival.^^

    4. For me a birthday of my doll is a day of arrival.

    5. Even though the cert of authentication that came with my boy says he was 'born' at 15 July, I will still insist his birthday is on 17 July, because that was when I release him from his box ;)

    6. In my case is the day in which complies its personage inside my history ^^

    7. My boy it is his arrival date, but the zodiac that date fell in (Leo) fits his personality. If I order another and their arrival date zodiac does not match their personality, I might do it different, but for my current only BJD it worked out wonderfully.

    8. I usually just say the arrival date of my dolls is their birthday, but my boy was found on a random Sunday since I never bothered to check with anything (found him two weeks early) and I found him a few days after hidden under a table on my porch.

If I get any more uncompleted dolls (which is rare) I think I'll choose the finished day as their birthday. Or just a random date. I did buy an unplanned head though, but his finished date is not his birthday, because I bought him on my half-birthday so I like the idea now of my dolls having birthdays on the half-birthdays of friends, family, or pets now. :)

    9. :smallcake:smallcake:smallcake HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :smallcake:smallcake:smallcake

If I order a whole doll from a company:
The birthday is the date of his/her arrival.

If I am piecing a doll together:
The birthday is the COMPLETION date.
(Completion meaning doll put together, outfit, faceup, etc...EVERYTHING)

If it is a celebrity Minimee:
The birthday is the same date as the celebrity.

      This is my guidelines....

    10. For me, my dolls' birthdays are the days i received them (including secondhand ones), when i finally got them in my arms *___* I like to think that changing their eyes, wigs, etc, is like a child's growing ^^

Like dogmalv, for a doll bought by parts i like to celebrate the day the doll is finished :3 So i'm still waiting for my Hepahestos face modification (he has a little scar) and his face up ^^

    11. I just pick out a random month and day really, but two of my dolls i've chosen my birthdate for him and the other one i chose for my cousin's birthdate

    12. Mine don't have them - don't know why, probably because they don't age... possibly the fact that I don't celebrate mine has a knock on effect to not having them for my dolls... Mostly however, I think that because my dolls remain the same age, having birthdays for them is a bit redundant.

    13. the days of arrival...

    14. the days of arrival...

    15. If it's a normal doll I'd choose the day they arrived, but if it was something like a Minimee or a doll I was getting made to resemble say a anime character or something I'd choose their birthday according to the character/person they're modeled after.

    16. The date of delivery to my eagerly awaiting hands~ ^^
      ohman that sounds like i was preggers XD;;;

    17. I make it the day of their arrival because that's truly the day they're born. That's the day they came into my lives after a long period of waiting. Seriously, the wait for my boy was close to the wait of pregnancy xD Plus, knowing the day they came into my life gives me a reminder of how long I've had them and how much they've changed since then.

    18. Never really decided on that :) For my dolls, there are free dates: date of production, day of arrival and the day they got their names. But no birthdays...

    19. All my dolls birthdays are the day I got them. If I got them as a floating head, their birthdays are the day I received their bodies. That's why I have so many December birthdays. Curse Xmas events! *shakes fist*

    20. I decide based on which season the doll suits or if their character suits a certain day - like my DIM Harvey Moon is a bratty pretty boy who gets loads of attention so I chose Valentine's Day.
