It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. My Yumiko was "born" the day my BF bought her. 3/1/2008. However, her story has her at age 22 right now...she's going to community college (Los Angeles Valley College) and finishing up her lower division units before transferring to film school either at USC (first choice) or UCLA. (second choice) I went with 3/1/1987 as her birthdate.

My new Obitsu boy Zetto has as his birthday 8/13/1983 because I received his head from JunkySpot on 8/13/2009, and I wanted him to have an Asian Zodiac sign compatible with hers...she's a rabbit, he's a dog. Yeah, I know, dogs chase rabbits in the West, but according to Asian astrology dogs and rabbits are compatible. The other alternative for compatibility would have had him younger than her.

    2. For me the doll/character's birthday are the day on which I opened their boxes. But their ages do not correspond to the age of the doll.
      So for Pip it's 26/04/2007, Fatty it's 28/10/2008, and Trinket is 26/07/2009

    3. For me when I get my first BJD. I would based it off the personality I want my doll to have but that would also be the day that she arrives. That day will also determine her zodiac and even more of her personality.

    4. Lulu's birthday is when the first part of her arrived...... which was her body... her head came the next day so really she has 2 consecutive days of birthday time

her birthday is april 1....... which means she's never coming with me to school on her birthday for fear that someone will play a horrible prank on me involving her.... because my high school is filled with a ton of immature people

with my next one, Mariella, I'm just going to choose a day because most of her is being sculpted my me and my uncle (only her torso and arms are really going to be bought the rest of her body I'm sculpting because she's going to be a mermaid) so she's going to be aquired in parts..... that would be too hard to pick a day out of all of those so I'm just choosing a day that suits the character

    5. i think i would make my doll's birthday another day and celebrate the day they arrived as the ' anniversary of (insert name) arrival' :)

giving me another day to celebrate with my dolls  :bcupcake :pcupcake

when i can get them :sweat

      :kitty2 A.R.N.F

    6. My dolls' birthdays are on the day I open their box. There's been two instances in the past where I got two dolls at the same time, and in order to pace myself, I opened only one box one day, bonded with the doll alittle, and then opened the next box the following day. So because of that my dolls get two-day long birthday parties! xD

    7. thats easy its birthday is on the day you get your dollfie :)

    8. I will put on the data they finish their makeup~~:fangirl:

    9. definitely the day they arrive! maybe, as I now think aboute it... the day they tell you their name....

    10. I usually go with the day they arrive at my doorstep, but sometimes if I already have a preset personality in mind I'll arrange a different date in regards to the zodiac.

    11. Whatever day it was that they arrived on my doorstep and I opened their box with much squealing and flailing about, that's their birthday. :)

    12. For me, I'd think it'd be the day I took my doll out of the box, or, as stated earlier, when a floating head gets a body.

Something I'd find very interesting though, would be if a vampire doll or a doll with a period clothing and hairstyle had a birthday given by the owner such as 1900, or a date from way before the creation of the doll or even the owner.

    13. Good thing my Ezra came with a birth certificate card: it saved me the problem of choosing a birthday myself. I'm pretty uninspired when it comes to my doll, I don't know why, and just choosing a name for him took me forever. Well, I decided I liked the birth date my doll was given/the date it was finished because it matched our Independence Day, something that I found sort of interesting and funny. Ah, and a great way to remember the exact date, too.

My smaller Obitsu dolls don't have a birthday, for I didn't deem it that important. If I were to choose a birthday for them or for any other doll I might be getting in the future, I gues I'd take a quick look at a horoscope and the description of personal traits associated with each Zodiac sign, and would choose one according to the personality I had in mind for that doll.

    14. the day i received my angel :D

    15. The arrival day, it’s when they are “born” for me. Though my sister just remembers the month so she knows how long she’s had her dolly.

    16. The day of arrival...
Or the day when doll was fully assembled (with eyes, faceup, etc).

    17. I think I will base my dolls birthday on the day she arrives. :)

    18. I'm rather stupidly simple with this one: order date. It's when the process for that doll to come into being -- mine, that is -- starts, since all of the ones I have were made to order and not in stock to ship, so it seems fitting, in a sense.

    19. I always go by the day that I open the box. :3 That's when the doll is finally in my possession. :)

    20. Well I don't have a doll yet but I guess mine would be based on her personality, and looks based on horoscope.
