1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. I'd also use their arrival date. It'd be easier for me to remember that way.

    2. Well for my boy, whos name is Winter,I decided that December 21st would be his birthday because it's the first day of winter. :) But arrival dates are good too because you can remember it easy.

    3. I go by day of arrival :D

    4. arrival date or just by the time i got my doll in my hands

    5. Day of arrival worked best for me, but now its a little complicated. My MNF miyu head is getting a faceup done, and the body hasn't arrived yet. I'm assuming the body will be here sooner, so I'll go by the date of arrival for the head.

My MNF el is coming, but since hes the twins sister of Lishe, he'll have her b-day since she was my first doll.

    6. I got Raphael's head in July and then got his body a few months later in December. I originally had his birthday be the July 14th date I got his head, but then later decided that December 5th wast he day he was complete - body and eyes and hair, etc, a full doll... minus clothes other than undies. So his birthday became December 5th. I expect that I will use the same idea with the others when they arrive and have their birthdays be on their completion date. They are all characters in a story, but I never defined their birthdays, so that doesn't matter.

    7. Mine go by their arrival dates, as they're brand new characters c:
My next doll is going to be based on a character though, so I'll either go with her creation date, or her arrival date, too.

    8. Mine are their arrival date, except for Hyunchul since he's based on a real person. So I made his that person's irl birthday :3

    9. Arrival date :3 It's more sentimental that way too, rather than it just being part of a story.

    10. Unless it's a character with a specific Birthday, it would be the day the box gets opened.

    11. I guess I'll go with the day when I complete a doll (I have a feeling that I'm gonna be a sucker for hybrids..) or star signs if I believe it suits the character especially well. But I'll try not to do that too often in the future .. Unless I want a whole big bunch of Scorpios.

    12. I used the date of arrival... But now I'm rethinking that.

I feel like I should look through my zodiac and astrology books and pick out more meaningful birthdays, regardless of when my dolls arrived.

Their arrival, I feel like now, just marks the day that they stepped into my life and not when they were actually "born." :sweat

    13. When the doll arrives at my door. :)
If I get the doll in pieces then I go when the head arrives at home.

    14. Clearly obvious.. when it first arrives at your door.

    15. But what if you bought a head and body separately, and they didn't arrive at the same time.

    16. Usually, it's either the day the doll arrives (trought i can't remember it anymore in most cases) or the day i've set for the character's birthday, in the rare cases that i do. Most of my dolls and planned dolls don't have a birthday anyways.

    17. For me, the birthdays of my characters are chosen by the type of person they are. Knox's birthday is January 5th, because he suits winter. Sparrow was born on June 27th because I want his birthdays to be spent outdoors in the sun :)

    18. Depends on the doll. ^_^; I counted Kyosuke's birthday as the day I assembled him (my first Obitsu.) The others, though, will have the birthdays assigned to their characters. It makes the most sense to me, since the dolls were bought specifically to personify certain people.

    19. It varys from person to person. If the doll is a character or remake of a person, I would use their birthday instead of arrival date. I think arrival date (even just a floating head X3) would be a perfect birthday because it makes it more special.

Or the second you touch the box XD

    20. i use the arrival date for mine. :3 it seems most special to me.
