1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. aww that's sad but at least she'll be home evenutally lol. congrats on that whole order =^_^= ((soo soo lucky!))

    2. aww yeah poor little Emi alone on christmas day/her birthday. That is if she's even made by then. and thanks :)

    3. There arrival date is their birthday to me.

    4. My doll wasn't sent to my home. I went to buy her in a store we have here in Holland. That was on Halloween, October 31st. Of course that couldn't be anything different than her birthday.

    5. I don't have my doll yet but when she arrives I am going to pick a random day and a random month plus how long she took to get her after I paid for her. And that will be her B-day

    6. Urrr... Depending on which day "fits" more, either the day she's ordered, the day she's shipped, or the day I receive her.

    7. date of arrival~

    8. date of arrival XD

    9. I'm not sure if there is a similar thread to this one. If there this, feel free to delete this thread.

Do your doll's birthdays fall under the day you bought them, the day they arrived, or do you make them fall under your own? If not, are there special reasons why you made your doll's birthdays on the dates they are now?

    10. I haven't received mine yet but it will most likely be the day of arrival or the day he gets out of the box. I was thinking of making his birthday the same as mine, so that me, and brother, and my doll will all have the same birthday :)) Sort of like a mini-family. I think I'll still stick with the date of arrival though.

    11. Date of unwrapping~
My doll and I have the same birthday (actually by coincidence!) so we're both the same astrological sign. I think it suits him though. Picking out a new zodiac for the doll, unless they're based off an already-existing character, just seems unusual. But hey, that's just me. c:

    12. Usually their arrival date unless it's a special character I had invented/planned out before I got the idea to resin-ize them.

    13. some it is the arrival date, some it is a date otherwise significant to them (their character), but you know for the most part I no longer remember WHEN I got my dolls, and I get too many over Christmas and birthday periods, so the arrival date method would get rediculous after a few years

    14. For me, it's the day they arrive. That's the important date to me and that's when I start creating their look and personality. I think if I did it as the date they were complete it would get confusing. Like, if I wanted to change them in some way a few months later, would that count and change their birthday? I'm happy with it being the day they arrive.

    15. Date of arrival ^^ Six days before my birthday ^^

    16. I was going to make my boy's birthday the day I opened him, but I found a card from the company in the box showing his picture and the date that I think is supposed to be when he was made, so I'm just using that ^^

    17. I am still waiting for my bjd, but I belive I'm not going to use his "arrival" day as his birthday, seeing as he was obscurely modeled after someone else. In due respect to the person, I'm using their birthday instead.

    18. i actually like the idea to have the birthday when the face up is done, head and body is put together, the wig and outfit is finished (kinda the phoetus idea). but on the other hand i think the day i will get my doll will be so special to me to make that day the birthday would probably make more sense then...

    19. To me, which is the 1st day I see him/her. but about float head.....the brithday would be the day which I receive the body.
