1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. Alot of people are saying the day that they arive. I would have to agree with them. ^-^; Once Nathen gets here, that will also be the date of his birth. My little pink haired Bobobie, blue eyed boy named Nathen. >.> Yeah I know, my friend looked at me weired too.

    2. I base mine off personality. With my first doll, I knew what his personality would be like, and picked a star sign accordingly. There are a lot of websites and books out there that give breakdowns of more specific personality based off of the day of the month with minor star/planetary alignments, etc., that help to narrow down the specific date. For me, the arrival date is a special occasion for me and a separate birthday is a special occasion for the doll itself.

    3. Im planning for my dolls birthday to be when i Open Him,

The confusing thing is, He is a birthday present Himself, O.o So... We will be sharing the same birthday, *since my mom wont let me open him untill the actual day...* though, im planning on having my party 2 days before, o3o maybe his birthday will be june 12th? meh~ either way, I can get away with getting resents for him from my parents, xDD teehee

    4. I also consider day of arrival to be their birthday.

    5. the day I reciever her in the mail is her birthday. I bought a birthday card and wrote the date o n it and put it with the doll to remind myself. I saw this done for a doll that is from 1802. the owner made the doll which she named abigail and added thier family last name and gave her a birtthday. and she wrote a apecial letter that stayed with the doll for more than 2 hundred years. I was so impressed that I did the same for my dolls. she wrote about the family histoy that the doll wa apart of. how she "lived in the nursury and whom she played with .just touching. what a treasure for the future owners. It made the doll much more valuable. she lived in a new country called america. wow!

    6. The day that they arrived are their birthdays. So I got mine during August 20th, so he's also Leo zodiac.

    7. I wrote the day I picked my boy from EMS office on his birthday card.

    8. My dolls' birthdays are the day I opened their boxes.

    9. Mine is basically the same but my dolls are based off the characters I made in my story instead. So according to the character's personality, I find a suitable star sign for them.

    10. None of my BJDs' birthdays are the dates of their arrivals. Most of them got their birthdays from the manga and anime series (One Piece, by Eiichiro Oda) they come from, although I have not found any of that information about a couple of supporting characters of that same story I have among main ones, so these two do not have a birthday, at least yet. About my own creation characters, both of them got their birthdays by a pair of important dates for me, the day my partner and me started together, for my CP Luts Mini Fée girl's date of birth, and his birthday, for my CP Luts Mini Fée boy's birthday.

    11. I don't remember the day Ophelia go to my house, as I was too excited to care, so I chose he day I ordered her. December 21st.

    12. I usually use the day I get them in the post as their birthday...but I'm beginning to have a slight problem...

ALL my dolls arrive in May! Seriously I have three dolls. All of which arrived in May. And I'm soon to have another who will more then likely arrive this month...I'm a bit at odds here >.<

Does anyone else have this problem?

    13. My dolls come to life in my world when they come home, so the day of their arrival is their birthday.

    14. ~Edit: removed~

    15. I don't celebrate my dolls birthdays. I know I've had Noble for almost two years now, but don't actually remember the exact date. The dolls are original characters who do have birthdays (I keep a spreadsheet of everyone's birthdays in case I forget) but I don't tend to celebrate those either.

    16. For my Cal, I had decided to either go with the day he arived or, if the sun sign didn't fit his personality to a rediculous extent, I would go with the exact opposite date. By opposite, I mean give the arrival date a numeric lable based off of the 365 days of the year (May 4 = 124, non leep year) then subtract by 182.

Lucky for me, May 4 falles in the sign Taurus. The deffinition of a Taurus describes Cal to a "T".

I'll probably have to do the subtraction thing for Mordrant sense I suspect he will be coming sometime in May as well and that wouldn't be good. Mor is a lot of things, but a Taurus is not one of them. If he comes in late May, however, and manages to be a Gemini, then I'll probably keep that arrival date as his birthday as well.

    17. I'm starting to think I may. (Sorry for he pun.) As I said in my own post, my Cal came home in May and his Mor will probably arrive in May as well. I think it may have something to do with the date I /ordered/ them in more than anything. Plus delays and such. I tend to order in late January and early February. Cal was a Feb. Add in the fact that DZ sent me the wrong order, plus shipping back and their re-shipping the right doll, and you can see why May was the way to go. Mor hasn't been actually bought yet, but I'm buying on the Marketplace from a nice lady three states over, so it shouldn't take four months for him. May, again.

What do you think about ordering your next doll some time in august or september? Think that my effect his/her arrival date?

    18. I don't have a doll yet.... but I was thinking that it would be the day of arrival, since I am not modeling her after a specific character or anything like that. I suppose that if in the end the personality doesn't match, then that can be changed, but I think it was said before, the day of arrival is a special day, and will always be :)
I ordered her with faceup done, so I am hoping they will put eyes and lashes on her, too, so she will have a face right when I get her :)

    19. I guess his real birthday is the day when he was sculpted. I don't know the proper date though... so his birthday is going to be the day he came home (:

    20. I have to admit, I bought all of Ren's accessories before she got to me... So the day I got her is her birthday by all counts! I got her out of the box and promptly put her together. Ok, so she didn't have a faceup for another couple weeks, but that's ok!

I'm so excited that I've had her for nearly a year now!
