1. It has come to the attention of forum staff that Dollshe Craft has ceased communications with dealers and customers, has failed to provide promised refunds for the excessive waits, and now has wait times surpassing 5 years in some cases. Forum staff are also concerned as there are claims being put forth that Dollshe plans to close down their doll making company. Due to the instability of the company, the lack of communication, the lack of promised refunds, and the wait times now surpassing 5 years, we strongly urge members to research the current state of this company very carefully and thoroughly before deciding to place an order. For more information please see the Dollshe waiting room. Do not assume this cannot happen to you or that your order will be different.

How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

May 23, 2006

    1. day of arrival. it's simple and easy to remember. everyone knows the days they get their dolls XD

    2. The day of arrival °w°
The order day is more like the s*x day (at least in my mind)

And it's better to remember just one date insted of the arrival and the birthday ^^

    3. I picked the day my doll was supposed to come.

    4. I know I mentioned earlier somewhere that I'd decided on the date of arrival as my doll birthday. But.. just a question, what if your doll also has a date of birth listed on his "birth cert" that came from the company? Would you use that? Or stick to the date of arrival?

    5. I always make my dolls' b-day fall on the day they arrived to me no matter what. Just keeps things simple:)

    6. The "date of birth" on the company certificate would only apply to the company's character for that doll - who is not my character for that doll; for instance, according to Luts, Shiwoo is Chiwoo's little brother. My Shiwoo is called Eric though, and his character does not have a younger brother called Chiwoo - he is not Luts' character, but mine, and therefore he has a date of birth that fits with his character and not the "official story" from Luts.

I think there are very few people who buy a doll from a company and stick with the official company character for that doll.

    7. The day they arrive, for sure. I'm not creative enough to come up with another way and the arrival date seems right..

    8. Usually the day of when the doll got fully dressed and finished makeup.
But if I have a special character in mind for the doll I may make it up.

    9. Ahhh thanks for the replies~ I guess I'll just stick to date of arrival haha XD

    10. Oh... see that changes things for me.... if she comes with a birth certificate, with date of birth, I would more likely keep that. I didn't know any of them came with birth certificates.

    11. Don't most dolls come with a BirthCard? (My first doll is still in the mail)

    12. If the character existed before they were a doll- they have a set birthday. {Chosen by random means}

If not... the date they arrive. ^^

    13. Hey Canadian person :) Mine JUST went on shipping like an hour and.... 45 minutes ago :D
So I know they come with a certificate of authenticity or something, but this is the first time I've heard of a birth date on a birth certificate. We need some experts in here :D

    14. Usually it's the day of the arrival. My first doll is exception - her birthday is different because she is based on my old character.

    15. @Giodrakes yeah that wat I thought too. My leeke boy's head came with a COA which also a 'birth date' listed on it as May 21, which I think is the date they finished making him. I only received him on June 1 though... lol

P/S: I meant the "birth cert" as cert of authenticity and the likes, for lack of better words haha XD

    16. I definatly like the idea of giving them a zodiac and birthday based off of their personalities. It would make them more real to me. If I ever get my pan doll the idea of him being a Capricorn makes me smile XD haha.

    17. Ooooh I see what you mean... Well, I didn't know the certificate had a birth date. I wonder if all companies do it. Probably... hmm

Love Daniel by the way. Really cute boy.

    18. Well, I'll go by arrival on my second dollfie, Lotus, she wasn't exactly a doll I was planning to get- but when I saw her I HAD to get her LOL! Sef, I go by the day I first saw him- bc at the time I was going to get another dollfie on crobidoll (I even ordered the other doll! and almost payed for him!) that was going to be Sef- but when I saw this doll on spiritdoll- it clicked... :)

    19. For all my dolls it's the day they arrived (even Neville, his birthday it's the day his head arrived xD). Only one doll of mine has special birthday - Ninomiya was my birthday gift from my parents, but arrived few days later than my actual birthday ('cause dollmore dalyayed it by 3 weeks :\). Yet, I am going to celebrate her birthday with my own, 'cause she's still my birthday girl even if she was a bit late :3

    20. Mine are all based on my charecters, preset birthdays. Make it that much simpler. XD
