How do you decide on a doll´s birthday?

I would say a dolls birthday is when they arrive at home and you get the excitement of opening them up and seeing them for the first time! Just like a real baby! XD

 

i choose their birthdays based on their personality and star sign. and any special dates if there are, within that star sign. for example, my first doll's birthday is the same date as my best friend's because he's supposed to have a similar personality.

 

To me, their arrival dates are their birthdays

 

Usually the day the doll arrives or falls in my hands x)

But I usually have trouble deciding a birthday for dolls that were suppose to arrive at my door step but got sent to the post office because no one was home to receive it ^^;;

 

I don't have a my own BJD yet, but I guess I would have to choose whichever day they felt "done" to me.

For me, a doll's birthday is the same as the character's he or she represents. E.g. I have twins, one of them is at home, the other one would be arriving somewhere towards the end of this year or spring next year. They would have very different D.O.B. if I were to use the arrival dates ^_^;;
If I have no specific date for the character in question, I usually choose a date that would be more suitable for their temperament (i.e. star signs and stuff).

 

The day they arrive becomes their birthday In which I have it marked on my phone's calender :P

 

I have the day they arrived as their birthdays.

 

I give them their birthday the day I recive both their head and body n.n

 

Chae-ri's birthday is the day I purchased her--May 3. It was a Monday, at about 3 in the afternoon. Mind you, this was a little less than two months ago, but I don't think I'll ever forget. It was that big a deal for me, and trust me--I couldn't tell you when I bought ANY of my other dolls, not even the YEAR, let alone the time of day. That should prove how special she is already to me.

 

I think it'd be the day he arrived. (: That's something worth celebrating right? Maybe it's just because it's my first BJD.
I figure it changes when you get more used to the 'waiting' part, and you start modding and adapting your dolls to your own personal likings (more experimenting in buying different molds and such).

However, for my first doll, the day he arrives will be his birthday. :3

 

I'm curious, though, and I'm not sure if this has been asked before, but when a doll's birthday comes do you actually figure that they are now a year older?

What I mean is, if you got the doll and said they are 18, when they have a birthday do you say they are now 19 etc?

 

For some of them it's their character decided b-day, but if they don't have a character it's the day they arrive.

 

i think to me,it's the day when i get them home.

 

If the doll isn't based on a pre-existing character with an already established date of birth, I just base it on the date the doll arrives at my house.

 

I might choose their date of arrival to me...but this could change depending on the doll :-)

 

Sometimes I just decided thier birthdays depends on my favourite numbers or my idol's birthday.....cos I was too forgetful that I can hardly remember the date when they arrived....OYZ

 

Oh. If I go by when she arrived at home and was "box opened", that would make Claire a Gemini. I think I can live with that

 

So far, I've only used it when the doll has arrived at my place.
